Knight26
Interesting, that the VF-84 YF-19 is wearing D-Back colors, hmm I may have to check but I think the current Jolly-Rogers used to be the D-Backs, I guess when VF-84 gets reactivated they will steal the old D-Back colors. Man that would stink.
hellohikaru
That VF-19 model looks weird...neither Diamondback nor Jolly Roger beside the decals. VF-102 Diamondback were disestablished around March 2002. They had nothing to do with the Jolly Rogers or USS Nimitz. "Original" VF-84 Jolly Rogers disestablished 1995. Name, Skull and Cross Bones taken over by VF-103 Sluggers not "merged".
gnollman
Man! Who do I have to threaten or kidnap to get Hasegawa to make a VF-11 kit! They have to realize that they would sell massive amounts of them.... they have to!

Omega One
That Japanese F-2 JASDF paintscheme YF-19 is AWESOME.... I wish I knew what colors (specifically) he used for that.... Here you go skull leader: These are the same colors used by the F-2 from JASDF. Regards
NERV
how the HELL did that blue YF-21 get so damn shiny? did they dip it in molten glass?
Skull Leader
VF-102 Diamondback were disestablished around March 2002. They had nothing to do with the Jolly Rogers or USS Nimitz. "Original" VF-84 Jolly Rogers disestablished 1995. Name, Skull and Cross Bones taken over by VF-103 Sluggers not "merged". Thanks for that info just what I was trying to say about the age of those 2 squadrons and yes, they were disestablished, (that the word to use?) I used merged as I thought some squadrons were combined ..... I could be wrong about this but definitely, many squadrons were "closed down" Yes Noel, that's the correct word. After the fall of the Berlin Wall and the general end of the Cold war, The united states opted to downgrade the size of the military, unfortunately the VF-84 was one of the many squadrons (Along with the VF-1 Wolfpack, VF-114 Fighting Aardvarks, the VF-33 Starfighters and numerous others) to get "the big ugly axe". Thanks for the colors, Omega Leader! I'm building a 1/72 F-2 now and I'm about to start looking for paint!
