According to the prequel comics (canonicity not established), the Narada was outfitted with Borg technology after the Hobus star went nova.- 1020 replies

The good old "how big is Starfleet" debate ... Like David said, it's not really until the Dominion War's epic fleet battles that we have come close to answering that question at least for the 24th century. I am inclined to say that by that time the fleet could have very well been in the thousands. However during Wolf 359, when a fleet of 40 Federation ships gets owned by a single Borg Cube, you get the impression that it was a BIG loss and if I recall it would take Starfleet about a year to recover, suggesting that from the writer's perspective, Starfleet was probably much smaller with numbers in the hundreds rather than in the thousands. This of course, is a rather cold view of analyzing it, as the loss of so many crew and officers, and 40 good ships is a devastating loss regardless of the fleet's total size. But TOS era fleet... I get the impression that it was small, the Federation itself was also smaller at that time so less real estate to defend.- 1020 replies

I think this is hard to quantify. Since Star Trek is comprised of both TV series and movies it's had more chances to fail - but it has not always failed. In the "modern era", TNG & DS9 were very good shows, Voyager and Enterprise not so much. The movies have always been hit and miss - with the even numbered ones strangely doing better . Pretty much all 3 of the SW prequels were mixed. But yea... everyone still went to see them.- 1020 replies

Suggestion for 2013 movie. Accelerate the timeline. Have Kirk self destruct the JJ-prise. Replace with classic Constitution-refit. Add lens-flare and viral-style marketing. Everyone happy.- 1020 replies

Glad they're taking their time with this one to do it right. Only thing that I hated about the reboot was the Enterprise and those horrid nipple rounded warp nacelles.- 1020 replies

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter???
Ghost Train replied to Dobber's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Abe Lincoln looks bada$$ walking around with his top hat wielding an axe. -
Not exactly anime per say, but the game Valkyria Chronicles (haven't played the two sequels) has voice acting (I dare say!) of equal quality in both languages.

Worst Science Fiction Film of All Time
Ghost Train replied to JELEINEN's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I remember seeing it when it came out... this was/is/will be soooo bad for 2 reasons: 1) The Gundam flies out, shoots and destroys the title. 2) No one has bothered filing a copyright infringement on youtube yet, as such it can be viewed in its entirety. Yes folks, it sucks so much that noooo one wants to own it or have anything to do with it . -

Romance in Anime Better or worse today?
Ghost Train replied to leading edge's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
One Lead Male + One Lead Female = Only 2 Nendoroids (Figmas, other types of figures etc), not lot money One Lead Male + Harem of 5 = PROFIT. I liked RomeoXJuliet though. I would like to see an adaptation of Hamlet someday. -
I don't like the "The game rewrites itself for you" part ... hope I didn't waste all that time: saving the Rachni so I can have my giant spider infantry, saving the council so I can have the Destiny Ascension and its huge gun, and all the members of my bada$$ squad from ME2 that I invested hours in playthroughs to keep alive.

What happened to the rest of the 1/72 Frontier kits?
Ghost Train replied to bullet101's topic in Model kits
I wouldn't mind if Bandai breathed new life into the frontier models by continuing the 1:100 scale kits (perhaps with decals this time lol), and deliver a non-transformable VF-171 fighter. -

Captain's Log Stardate 8738.20, I have decided to leave my utterly boring Starfleet crew in order to join this Shepard and his band of Renegade pirates. In return I have been promised at least 2 personal side-quests, VIP access to a certain place called The Chora's Den, and a romance route with a female from the Krogan species. Only fate knows what awaits! NCC-1701 Refit. I started this well over a year ago, but as my life turned into a chaotic mess, this project incurred numerous stoppages. It's not perfect, or accurate... but looks ok sitting in my office!
