  1. AFAIK Yamato doe not offer customer service outside Japan, so Overdrive had arranged to help overseas buyers with spare parts, but that also stopped.
  2. EDIT: I was doing it on purpose... Not wanting to extend this discussion any longer, I wanted to hint that things the same scale can be of very different sizes, just like the VF-0 is huge compared to the VF-1, the Hummer is big compared to a Mini, all of them being the same scale.
  3. Don't the Americans usually think European cars are not as big and comfy as theirs? Put a Hummer next to a Mini, that's scale!
  4. That nose cone is on a tricky double joint, so you may have to work on that a little to find the right angle. Do be extremely careful with the nosecone because the lilac paint will easily rub against the chestplate if mistransformed. The nose cone not being able to reside in the landing gear bay may cause this!
  5. actually, why not try converting a DX VF-27 into a properly shaped VF-25? that should be easier than modifying a completely different mecha like the SV-51
  6. let's not forget we're not the intended target market for the VF-25 anyway, so it is very much up to the Japanese collector to decide if we're getting a new version of anything, including the long overdue VF-171. I have a lonely VF-27 Gamma, no VF-25 because it is so fugly and not even as durable as many claimed it would be.
  7. hmm..."single mode kit magic" a close relative of "anime magic"? Regardless, that is one beautiful fighter mode model.
  8. You explained it for me! I am afraid unless web exclusives don't do well in the Japanese home market the equation is: "webshop exclusives is the way of the future"+Japanese companies usually don't care about market outside Japan=we are screwed
  9. flight suit and not the manager suit I guess
  10. anubis, that's some awesome display of... purchasing power
  11. yes and no: it is not upside down on the port side, only on the starboard side. when the gun is held in the hand, the sides switch and there is always one side upside-down AFAIK that's somehow cannon and also how Yamato made their toys.
  12. Just been to Animate in the Monkok area, they still had the VF-27 Brera Sterne for HK$1,080 (I paid something like that over 2 months ago), a surprise for me because the shop usually is more expensive than other smaller outlets (like the one where I found mine). They have a decent customer service which is probably worth the price mark up, non-existent in this case.
  13. they keep adding things to the VF-25...while they could use their time developing a new model already! Guess the economy in Japan is so bad that a full new toy is a minefield, maybe somehow making things web-exclusive saves costs and maximises profits for bandai?
  14. The Luca VF-100s was never released probably because the VF-25 never had the market reception they expected, and honestly it was really not such a brilliant toy, though I did buy all three released. I don't think Bandai is not into mold milking, but they do have a lot of stuff going on at the same time. Yamato is a smaller company holding less franchises, so you get a new VF every month.
  15. gosh, thanks for the picture up there...so many people claiming the cannons being too short! Well, so Yamato's are bigger than Bandai's but Canaria liked her monster, er... short...so short the toy will be.
  16. it's somewhere in one of the old Bandai 1/60 DX Toy Thread (this is version 7), just don't remember which. You can also check the customization discussions.
  17. oh well, I didn't know that. It does look to scale with the Robot Spirits toy, that one is a tad smaller than 1/100 though! Would've liked them to use the VF100s for comparison instead, but I guess Bandai isn't very proud of that thing. EDIT: does the shuttle mode have landing gears? or maybe, should it? I don't recall seeing it on screen, but maybe somebody has lineart revealing the tiny gears...
  18. Ok, so the re-release VF-0A is not the one with white stripes...but it somehow became the Shin (it shows with the sticker "Shin Kudo" on Yamato's website.
  19. Maybe a silly question, they're reissuing the VF-0A, but wasn't there a VF-0A "Shin Kudo" w/different livery? I think I heard something about the "CF" VF-0A being actually Shin's and the "Shin Kudo" special a mistake...am I wrong? I have Nora, Ivanov and Fokker, would like to have Shin...
  20. Honestly, I don't remember having seen it recently, it's mostly sold out I guess. Last time I checked it was around HK$1,300 (over one month ago), and you may still may bump into it it if you look hard every nook and cranny.
  21. while browsing around, I just remembered the Yamato fold booster comes with nifty lights effects...while the newer Bandai super fold booster is a pink and green chunk of plastic! not that I need those lights, but this shows how Bandai wasn't even trying...
