I wonder if the delay for HLJ is that they're more focused on marketing to the US, not so much to other parts of Asia. Usually my HLJ orders arrive in around 3-5 days, assuming I don't order on the weekend. Kind of the reverse for me with HKC, but I can't complain, my 19S shipped out early this morning.

Sorry for the double post, just a heads up, the P is available at HKC, they posted a note in another portion of the forums. http://www.hkcollectibles.com/macross-robotech/7151-vf-19p-planet-zola-patrol-color.html

Actually makes me wonder if they typo'd the name like they did the 25S before. Could mean they're sitting unsold somewhere in the site.

I don't think they even have it listed yet. I check their catalog pretty regularly, and haven't seen any renewal of it appear yet.

K, no trouble, just curious since I hadn't bought from them before now. I'm not in any huge rush, I only wondered if they were running out. I won't be terribly disappointed if they're out of stock, I've bought too many of these already.

Anyone know how long HK Collectibles takes to ship things out? Ordered that VF-19S on the 15th, and haven't heard anything yet. Paypal payment was accepted, but haven't heard anything since then.

Yeah, thing about SP attacks is that since you can't control yourself once you activate one, they give you limited invulnerability. That goes for enemies too, so your best bet is to use a valk with a long combo so you can outlast them. Soon as you hear the "CHING" sound of one activated, hit your own.

I have to admit, once I get the DX YF-29 and it's super packs, I'm going to be tempted to strip it down and repaint it as either Isamu's version, or that bluish-gray low-vis camo. The plane is just beautiful that way. The gaudy paint schemes they've got the YF-29 toys in don't do anything for me, but I would shell out easily to pick up some game-based repaints. Or heck.. maybe I can dream, and Hasegawa will milk the deal to make 1/72 VF-25s into making a 1/48 YF-29 kit.

Not as nerdy as you might think. I love HLJ's sturdy shipping boxes, so I've got a generous supply of them "folded away" myself right now. Next time I move, people are going to think I came from Japan.

Actually, unlocking that race can be the tricky part, since anything past race 3 you have to unlock by completing another quest. I don't remember unlocking the races being a problem, because I completed them without realizing it, but going and looking for them is another step in the process.

Something of that magnitude, I don't know. Depending on scale, it'd be orders of magnitude more involved than something like what Experten makes. The sheer number of parts to make might make it impractical using anything besides actual injection molds.

Depending on the target, this may not even matter.. After maxing out the gunpod stats, I can often kill stuff with it before I get close enough to even get a missile lock. Just might take a little manual aiming.

So what will be the first Arcadia branded Macross offering?

Sounds pretty similar to BBTS sadly. I had a preorder in on the very first day for the second run of the original YF-29... It never happened. They never updated, never gave any info, and just kept pushing the listed release date back. I wound up cancelling that order when NY opened up orders for the second run of the 30th anniversary release. I probably had my order in there a good 9 months, with no information from them at all. Hope Hobby Fan doesn't wind up in the same boat.

The only downside to this one is that giant bulky missile pod. Aside from that, it looks really similar to the SV-51. Nose folds under the cockpit and backwards, the legs seem to actually stay in place while the pelvis rotates down, meaning we might have a full-on waist joint. The arms seem kind of unnecessarily complicated though. They lay along side the legs like the SV-51, but that angled fin-shaped panel on the forearm is actually a piece of the underside of the wing. There's a few folding panels that open up, and the arms bury themselves in the wing root.

Actually, I think I'm gonna see about converting one to actual blue angels markings. I dunno if I'll get too fancy, but I kinda want to see how hard that would be to do. I might just buy some pinstriping tape, and make the markings with that to see what will potentially scratch.

Macross 30: The Voice that Connects the Galaxy gameplay
Chronocidal replied to Moeflyer's topic in Games
I think once you unlock all of the rank 3 valks, it just comes down to personal preference, because unless I'm mistaken, maxing out any valk to 999,999 will result in identical base stats. It just comes down to preferences for what weapons you want to use. Personally, I like having reaction weapons around for area of effect shots on bigger targets, but the number of things that they're useful on is pretty limited. I do prefer using multi-missiles to the rapid fire ones though, just for coverage. As far as looks, I just love using Isamu's YF-29. The beam gun turret packs a lot more punch than any head laser, and you can pretty much fire it from any direction as long as your target is above you.- 104 replies

If you're looking for single drop in those blue spots, make sure to look high and low for them. They can appear at all levels of the map, and you might find them on the floating stones, or upper levels of some spots. I remember seeing at least one or two on the rocks floating around that big tree, as well as one high up on the trunk.

Actually, I kind of expect that some of the models are reused from the PSP games. Most aren't bad, but a couple models are really jagged in terms of modeling. The YF-29 in particular has engine pods that are nearly square, and don't match up with the rest of the graphics very well. Not that you notice it during gameplay though. And really, they may have purposefully kept the models very low polygon to help increase game performance. But still.. the YF-29's engine pods are ugly.

Actually now that I think of it, I wonder if any MiG-29s paint their intake slats that way. They're the only plane I know of off the top of my head with built in mechanical covers.

This is just my personal preference, but as far as replacement parts go, I do prefer plastic to resin, if only because I'm more experienced with it. I really do need to start fiddling with making some stuff again, I've been wanting to make a properly sized VF-25G sniper pod, and rebuild the nose on my YF-19.

Actually, I do leave mine on anyway as well, but if there were any valks I would really prefer to have them removable, it's the VF-19s. See, with the P they're gray, and even on the F they aren't so bad, but the bright yellow intake covers on the Fire Valk and VF-19S are eyesores. I mean, I think until the point that we got to the Fire Valk, every fighter in the entire Macross continuity had used grayish intake covers (not sure on the YF-21). With the Fire Valk itself, ok, the intakes are bright yellow.. it goes with the rest of the plane. But when we got to the VF-19S and F, either the animators got lazy and forgot to change up the color schemes, or someone decided, "Let's just ditch the idea that these are mechanical parts, and paint them in gloss colors!" I would throw painted intake covers in the same category as painting the engine nozzle of a plane bright gloss colors. Sure, you can do it, but the paint is going to be destroyed entirely by standard operating wear and tear. I was always under the impression that intake covers were bare metal, or whatever kind of composite material they might use. They certainly looked that way on the up-close shots of the VF-0. I don't want removable intake covers on the VF-19s so I can see inside the engines.. I want to remove them because they're freaking ugly.

Well, I'm not counting the YF-19 yet. I picked up two of each of the VF-19 releases, and might do a little customization on one of the VF-19Ps and one of the Ss.
