Something that in my book is important but is not mentioned much here is that Alto brought back her earring. You can be as playful as you want (Alto wasn't ), but after that it will come a time when you have to demonstrate you are actually reliable, and Alto did it. FV

I wouldn't say Macross Zero is asserting humans in Macross evolved from the fish. That was just meant to differentiate original humans from Protoculture. FV

I think after his mother died Alto tried not to love anyone anymore. More than being dense, he is just afraid to love. FV

Thinking back, Alto started to like Sheryl in ep. 5, while he enlisted in SMS in episode 4, so at the time he actually did it to protect Ranka. This is no declaration of shipping, though FV

I am always hoping for a Macross with classical music and opera singer I think the only theme left untouched by now is meeting the Protoculture itself. We've got the Supervision Army covered, the human evolution intervention covered, the fold dimension covered... it's time to have something that actually moves things forward. FV

Macross Frontier had few atmospheric dogfights so far, I am hoping we get some more in the last episodes. FV

I think OVAs have an advantage in time available for action scenes. With a TV episode, 20 mins are not enough for a big battle, you just see snippets of action here and there and then the main character scene. With an OVA you can have enough time for the action scene of another character too, as demonstrated by Macross Zero. I still say in Macross Plus they pulled more extreme stunts though. Frontier has very good action scenes, they are just short and to the point. If it gets the OVA/Movie option, I think it could top everything we've seen until now. FV

Alto's VF-171EX also had leg FAST Packs as well (with verniers on legs' internal side in Battroid). I think VF-171EX left arm add-on is just a missile launcher with exit ports on both front and rear side. The underfuselage gunpod seems superfluous. Where it goes in Battroid mode, left hand? FV

Maybe Alto would get a different girl in a retelling Btw, Aquarion didn't sell that much but it got its own retelling, and it was epic FV
