  1. I think you misunderstood. There is probably an in-joke about that character of School Days, I think she didn't get the boy or something. FV
  2. I agree. On Animesuki they all believed Sheryl was gonna confess this as soon as possible, but it's not likely. FV
  3. I think the after image is a simple FX to suggest an incredible acceleration But it could also be part of its stealth system FV
  4. I think the second season was not planned from the start because this kind of things can mess up the story badly (ie: Taniguchi on Geass). Code Geass got a second season because that was a probability from the start, had the series got enough success (although it was not decided whether it would have been a second season, an OVA or a movie). Gundam 00 was two seasons from the start. We don't even know how many episodes Macross Frontier we got, but the episodes seem to be planned too throughly to be extended on a whim, plus we've already got . After episode 20 I could even picture a Sheryl that goes with the Vajra (in place of Ranka) out of her sense of duty I highly doubt one of the two main girls will die, especially Ranka since she seems to have the protection of the Vajra (in ep. 20 Grace mentioned something like that) I think Macross Frontier is 28 episodes, and is roughly divisible in 7 episode arcs. With episode 8 we got the subplot about Grace being a spy, while with episode 15 we got Ranka used as a weapon. The next big change will be introduced with episode 22, but we should already see something in episode 21. It seems likely Ranka will regain her memory, although what that would mean it is still to be known. Anyway, Kawamori said he put special care in balancing Ranka and Sheryl, and he is directing both episode 20 and 21. If you think Ranka fell short in episode 20, the next episode should even things out I must say, though, that Ranka's poor figure was vastly exagerated by shippers. Before Macross Frontier I watched Gundam and Evangelion, can't beat those FV
  5. I think it was more like These symptoms can interfere with a person’s general functioning, including social and work activities, and relationships.. Shippers, shmippers. Let's get the scientific facts straight, at least FV
  6. The story is about a love triangle, you can't have a love triangle without Sheryl, that would be jumping the shark. Sheryl could have a clone sister, though (here comes Fairy 10) I think being a pro has a higher chance to get you killed In most anime series the unexperienced main character lives, while the veterans die I think her role is supposed to be "the underdog that makes a succesful victory rush", as suggested by the second OP As for characters who are going to die, the authors obviously chose to invert survivors from the original series. As much as everything screams that Ozma is likely to die, logic tells me authors will keep him alive for a change. I think Bobby will die in his place to shield him from an attack. FV
  7. I dunno... it happened the same in all the other Macross, can't expect it to be different FV
  8. FYI the OVA ended differently from the TV series. It should be, since Sirius is dead from the start. Anyway, in my case it's not the ending, it's the climax that matters. I just don't like the ending if the main character dies without saving anyone, but aside from that I can accept most endings. The climax is the most important part, though. When we got two armies that keep getting stronger, I find unsatisfying a victory due to superior physical strength, because it would be like a victory of luck in getting the favorable swing of chance. Therefore a transversal victory looks better. In the final episode of Frontier probably all weapons will be useless against Vajra, so the climax surely won't be resolved by strength. FV
  9. There is still no definitive episode count, yet it seems like the story would be perfectly divisible in 7 episode arcs. In episode 8 we learned for the first time Grace was a spy, and we also met Brera. With episode 15 we got Ranka's song as a weapon. Episode 22 should introduce new things as well. FV
  10. I don't think they weren't the ones that Frontier left behind after the ultra long distance fold, but another swarm. The series characterized Vajra as almost mindless drones that follow orders of a queen (which is embedded with a lot of fold crystals to control its own swarm). When they die, the send a message to their own queen. Probably the upgrades aren't shared to other swarms, because they are dependent on a queen. FV
  11. And what about the possibility that the Global was actually the true SDF-1 all the time? FV
  12. I think Brera's situation is similar. People are saying he is good only because of his cybernetic enhancements... but it's not like we are watching him without those. FV
  13. Exactly, mind that after the fight Brera bent a knife with his hand. He was clearly holding back, but Ozma is still impressive for catching his fist in the dark. FV
  14. This episode and the following one are directed by Kawamori (with another guy, Kikuchi I think) They cannot not be good FV
  15. Memory may fail me, but I think there was once an old thread about YF-19 VS YF-21 (maybe in the old forums?), and Egan pointed out that it was an OVA thing, while the YF-19 is actually supposed to be very easy to handle I can't access old forums right now though FV
  16. It's surprising people put Brera so low on this list. Dude, the guy is a cyborg, he has superhuman reflexes. In ep. 09 he wasn't serious, aside from that he never missed a hit once. FV
  17. No, but you can download a raw that works better on your PC FV
  18. You forgot the Three Star ship. They rebuilt even Battle 7. FV
  19. Being an adult is not about asking things you rationally deserve thinking that will suffice, it's about having an edge that compels others to do it your way FV
  20. Please keep math away from Macrossworld! FV
  21. He liked all the other shows to different degrees, I never thought he wasn't gonna like a finely crafted show like Frontier Then again, there was too much of an issue with Macross 7. Kawamori doesn't like to do the same things over and over, and he never brought back main characters. At the end the legacy of Macross 7 it's mainly just another singer that saves the day, something that already defined Macross. FV
