    Macross figures

It's probably because Macross best girls are still Sheryl and Ranka. Sales data of past Minmei merchandise maybe indicated it would not have been a good business decision. It's unfortunate.

    BANDAI DX YF-19!!

It would seem logical right? I know from experience that there is a lot of bureaucracy even within the divisions of the same company and it's sister companies. Bandai Namco Arts owns Sunrise (I didn't actually know this), but that doesn't mean Sunrise will provide BNA license to their properties for free - BNA of course does get first negotiation rights for all Sunrise licensing agreements of course (this is my assumption). For example: The Gundam anime license is owned by Sunrise, but even though Sunrise is owned by BNA, the Gundam series is licensed out via Sunrise and not BNA.

    BANDAI DX YF-19!!

Some contributing factors are licensing and royalties costs. They differ between each series/property.
  4. I'm undecided if I will apply weathered detailing (real touch markers, and dry brushing). I haven't tried on a completely white surface. Lightest was Arcadia YF-19 base. Light tan is forgiving. White probably not so much, and I wouldn't want it to look overly artificial. Depends how stunning it looks vanilla. Also detailing 3 valks... You'll see my work posted here in.... 2025. I still haven't finished my weathered VF-1A CF.
  5. Improvement over Bandai's stand. The storage on the sides is genius.
  6. I love that the base form is very GM looking, but the set of colours aren't a great match. GM Jester colours would have been ace. Strange to have dark grey and blue. Just choose 1 colour and alternate the shade, example dark grey and a lightly less dark grey.

    BANDAI DX YF-19!!

I didn't realise they added greater articulation over the VF-19 Adv. What was reported to be enhanced?

    BANDAI DX YF-19!!

I was thinking about ordering a pair to repair the wing and change the other one. Let me know what happens.

    BANDAI DX YF-19!!

Anime industry. I also prefer the Arcadia YF-19's Fighter over the DX. It's less gappy and smooth on the underside (the head area is better on the DX). Pity I snapped the diecast bar on 1 of the wings on my Arcadia. Need to fix it one day. The DX has a better Battroid for sure.

    BANDAI DX YF-19!!

The VF-19 Adv had really nice deep panel lines, so I expect the YF-19 will be the same. It allowed for some really nice shading on my weathered VF-19 Adv. I need to take a better set of photos of this. Currently this bad boy is wrapped in bubble wrap from the office move last year.
  11. and it would be ¥10K cheaper than an Arcadia release, and have more tampo. ¥20K less than Arcadia's potential Macross Plus PF offerings.
  12. I think we would have a better chance of Bandai releasing their own VF-11B, seeing as Bandai now have the 1:60 Macross Plus license (if their YF-19 Full Pack is any indication). I thought it was established that only 1 licensee can hold the rights to a toy line in a particular scale, which is why Bandai cannot release a VF-1 in 1:60 scale as Arcadia are still holding that license. Does this mean that Arcadia will never release a 1:60 YF-21 now? Best bet for an Arcadia VF-11 would be the VF-11C from Macross 7. I wonder if they are still holding the Macross 7 license. Personally I love the VF-11B from Macross Plus. The grey colour with the orange accents are really nice. I also prefer the gunpod over the VF-11C variant. Plus Isamu flew the B.
  13. if the Metal Build AILE Strike is anything to go by, you will see preorders opening up again during the week of release - so be ready in February. And yes there is also the local distributors (Bluefin) which will probably supply it to US hobby retailers. For a big brand like Evangelion, I imagine there will be a lot of interest from western hobby retailers. My feeling is that Evangelion has a larger western audience than Macross or Gundam.

    BANDAI DX YF-19!!

I interpreted that as meaning starting to collect the VF-1 1/48 toy line. Bandai will definitely continue to release more VF-1 in 1/48.
  15. VF-0D and A unassembled kit. Then they could also sit unbuilt forever like my VF-1S and J yama kits.
  16. MWF is but a tiny subset of the expensive toy customer base. It's still going to be preorder madness as all the online stores also supply for Japanese customers.
  17. Arcadia prices are so extreme now, and the AUD so low compared to JPY (+ the sting of 10% GST added to all orders from major Japanese e-retailers), it is difficult for me to support their releases. I would love a VF-0A CF, but even if it does ever get released I'll not be able to afford it at the current exchange rate.
  18. I forgot where I sourced that HMR image from. Maybe official Bandai, but then again we know Bandai are not perfectionists when transforming their own toys for promo shots. LOL! We should update the above comparison of the backpack with a properly transformed HMR. I really appreciate that the DX doesn't require the clip like the the 1/60 to keep the backpack close to the body. I wonder what kind of crazy Bandai engineering is involved to keep it tight and not flopping around. Does the HMR have a lock? I did a little research and noticed both SDFM and DYRL elbow designs are the same (unless the line art was lazy line art). Each line art had the correct hand designs to signify if it was SDFM or DYRL. So I wonder where Yamato got the filled in elbow design from.
  19. Interesting to see that Bandai are choosing not to tampo the VF on the shins, where as Yamato intended for them to be added by the owner via the sticker sheet. I much prefer the the visor design on the DX over the Yamato 1/48. It looks really good imo. The bevel on the shoulders is also very nice on the DX compared to the thin bevels on the Yamato. The 1/60 follows the Yamato 1/48 thickness. Thicker is much closer to the Mecha Manual line art. (source Anymoon - https://goo.gl/images/NVVLGf) One thing that is a little out of place is the black colouring of the air break flap (?), but again that is also accurate to the line art. Ha! Love the angle of the head lasers in battroid. I wonder if they are moveable/tilt-able. They are completely straight in fighter, and angled out in battroid. Maybe Bandai cleverly engineered the swivel of the head lasers so they end up angled out in battroid and then completely straight for fighter. Also the backpack sits at just the perfect height on the DX. I noticed that it sits a too high on the HM-R line. HMR / DX / Yamato 1/60 / Line Art It's interesting that the HMR got the bottom flap detail the most accurate to the line art. You just keep seeing lots of differences the more you look. Now I've noticed that the elbow armour is the least line art accurate on the Yamato, and most accurate on the DX, then followed by the HMR.
  20. That is awful. Can you get compensation from HLJ?
