  1. Anyone know where I can get the gold frame metal build online? I keep checking back with HLJ without any luck. I have it on preorder at bbts but was hoping to snag one sooner.
  2. Can't stress enough how the gappiness in fighter mode is corrected by this one simple act: make sure that the wing swivel joint is pushed all the way down so there is no space left in that area. Please refer to Actar's pic a few pages ago. Once I did this, the gappiness in the area was greatly reduced. I think a lot of our woes come from the fact that this figure is highly engineered and so few of us can read the Japanese instructions. I have a feeling that we're not transforming the toy correctly, therefore leaving us with issues like gaps between parts, etc
  3. Absolutely love the battroid mode on this as they've massively improved the ankle joints compared with arcadia's. But the fighting mode is where things literally fall apart. The amount of massaging you have to do so that parts line up, the odious transformation back to fighter mode with or without the super parts, the ill-fitting super parts that won't stay in place...this valk is definitely an excercise in patience. But despite the shortcomings, I'm hoping that they milk the mold with variants, canon or not. I much prefer the design of the vf-19 over the vf-25. I just hope that they fix the issues mentioned if ever variants are made
  4. Absolutely love the Vampire! Would also love to see the Variable Glaug in toy glory
  5. Closely watching this thread for the opportunity to grab a set. #inmydreams
  6. So the hips not rotated outward sufficiently was what caused my wing assembly to not sit flush with the torso part in fighter mode. Rotating the hips outward when in fighter mode also closed up some of the other gaps as well. Also, making sure the wing root joint is all the way in helps (please refer to Actar pics a few posts above). Thanks again ChaoticYeti and Actar!!! Still trying to figure out what is the best way to keep the cannards up. Mine seems to droop down a bit when bumped into.
  7. Thanks Actar and ChaoticYeti, I'll check on the things you pointed out as I transform it back to fighter mode later on today. I'll let you know if it works out!
  8. Does anyone else have any issue with the wing root on the left side of the screen not sitting flush against the torso piece in fighter mode? There's a huge gap on mine that I can't get rid of. I transformed it into battroid mode over the weekend with the intention of transforming it back to fix any misalignment caused by mistranformation, but I can't bring myself to do so since I absolutely love this thing in battroid mode Tight joints everywhere, including the swivel on the wing root that's stiff enough to hold the wing assembly with the huge thrusters in place.
  9. Spent some time with mine today and I may have gotten a bad copy. Even without the fast packs attached, I find that the parts on mine don't fit flush against each other and don't lock as tightly into each other as I'd like, creating a a rather gappy profile. It might not have been properly transformed when it was packed at the factory, so I'll reserve final judgement after I transform it into battroid and back. The only thing I like so far over the Arcadia version is the amount of tampo prints. Oh, and I absolutely love the inclusion of the Mac F style thrusters (?), but I wish they fit better and didn't pop off at the slightest nudge. Overall, Arcadia's YF-19 feels more refined to me, without all gaps and ill-fitting parts that my Bandai copy seems to have. I fixed the looseness in the metal bar that articulates the wings on my Arcadia Yf-19 and I can balance it just fine even with its poorly designed ankle joints. No doubt, Bandai's rendition looks a lot sexier in fighter mode with its Mac F style thrusters, but I prefer Arcadia's attempt over Bandai's, ultimately.
  10. Did as you described, Chaotic, and now my YF-19's wings are super solid. The only way the wings will move now is if I actively move them. I also tightened the screws which connect the metal arms to the wings. They're stiff enough to load up with missiles and they won't move out of position by themselves, no matter how much swooshing you do with it. Thank goodness I happened upon your post. Thanks!!!!!
  11. Yes, Orgroid mode. Overall, I'm trying to find out if the parts are floppy in all 4 modes
  12. Guys, are hip joints a little loose in robot mode? if you pick up the figure from an A-stance, do the legs stay in that position or do they plop down? Sorry, it's a pet peeve of mine
  13. Thanks for the review! For around $300 I was expecting more than a toy that has issues with locking down parts and loose hip joints. The toy looks great from the pics but the QC is concerning
  14. Hey DarrinG looking forward to your review as I'm sitting on the fence to see if this is worth getting. I hope it's not a floppy mess at that price
  15. Wasn't there a version that sported a pair of Gatling guns in battroid mode in the movie?
  16. Got mine from HLJ yesterday. No issues so far, but haven't transformed it yet
  17. Sorry if this question has been asked before. Did Bandai fix the problem with the tampo paint/print coming off of the super parts too easily? I received the super parts for the RVF but I've gotten so paranoid about putting it on the valk and handling it. My v1 tampo paint on the leg armors came off with some moderate handling.
  18. Would love to get my hands on a custom replacement suit if ever it was available
  19. I'll put my two cents in regarding RD as an alternative to GFFN. Don't let the lack of tampo prints fool you -- these toys are highly detailed and well-engineered. The only upside to the GFFN is that they're painted flat like models with tons of tampo-ing. Great for leaving in fixed poses, but the minute you start posing them, your heart will sink.
  20. One thing to watch out for is the paint on the rifle handle. A little bit of paint on mine has flaked off after repeated insertion into the gun pod holder/attachment-thing.
  21. Count me as one of the possible few who's still excited. After looking at the pics more carefully, I'm leaning more towards the idea that the spacer isn't to support the crotch forward but to cover up the exposed area (think VF-19 and the covers on the back thighs/legs). Love that the head is bigger and more proportionate to the body. I think some of the hate will evaporate as soon as people start getting this in hand. At the end of the day, I'm happy to have a slightly improved version of my fave valk design with the additional super pack!
  22. Thanks for the explanation! There was a pic in a Japanese review of the yf-29 where the front pods weren't equipped, and this whole time I was thinking they left them out by mistake
  23. Curious how the pics show the omission of the super part that attaches in front of the wing engine. I kind of like the way this looks, the super part just makes the wing engines look heavier than it needs to.
  24. I contacted that guy on ebay and his response was that he wasn't able to secure the VF-171 pieces.
