  1. To be fair, the bright yellow or light blue stripes don't make it any less of a flying target, although I couldn't imagine the VF-17's without that signature detail.
  2. Good for you! I just got mine last week and she's a beauty. One of the first things I did was to replace the Basara pilot with a spare SV-51 pilot. I'm not all that thrilled with pacifist pilots
  3. I agree with the Wing Gundam damashiis being way too small. In contrast, the L-gaim damashiis are a tad bigger (by half an inch?), which feels more substantial, leaving me to wonder why they didn't use that size for the gundams. They're supposed to be non-scale anyway, right? Yes, color me disappointed with the size aspect as well. But what they lack in size, they outdo the L-gaim damashiis with more attention to detail. The Altron Gundam is my fave so far, seconded by the Epyon.
  4. Came across this on the 'net. Expertly applied decals, but half of me thinks all the decals detract from its stealthiness. In any case, they're absolutely breathe-taking
  5. http://gencolle.jp/useritem/detail/item024231 Sorry if this is a repost, but I came across this japanase site when googling for vf-19p images. Awesome decaling and line-paneling, with missiles to boot! Has anyone modded their vf-19 to be able to carry missiles? There are other valks on the site that are as well done as this. Check it out
  6. Didn't think that the vf-19s could look any better, and then I see it with decals! Nice job Swoosh. I'll have to add this to the list of valks in need of decaling (vf-17s w fast pack first on that list!)
  7. Be careful as the plastic used might be the type that deteriorates over time.
  8. Ah, the one I have is the metallic repaint version. Thanks
  9. Just got my order confirmation for the VF-19p from HLJ! Woot! Was starting to think that I ordered too late
  10. Jenius or anyone versed with Votoms toys: Did CM's ever make another large scale Votoms figure besides the DX Zerberus, which was approximately 1/18 scale? I picked it up years ago from an HLJ sale. It's got shelf presence as you can see from the iphone pic, but it's got an amazing lack of play value due to the fragility of the plastic. It's very toyish when compared with Takara's DMZ offering or Yamato's. Despite the poor material used, the proportion and lines are executed very well. It's not without its gimmicks: the spike on the shield pops out with a push of a button, as do the forearm and the wheels on the feet. This toy would've received much more love had it not been for the aforementioned quality of the plastic used.
  11. As Chronocidal, mentioned part of the problem is that there's no way to guide the alignments of the legs so that they remain firmly locked with the backpack piece. I've been playing around with the alignment, and as soon as I grab the fighter by the nosecone and give it a shake, the legs detach from the backpack area. It annoys me to no end. In contrast, I can shake the MacF vf-17 by Bandai and all parts remain locked in place. Deeper tabs or magnets would have been better. I won't belabor the point (too late!!!), as it's a quibble that doesn't prevent me from enjoying the valk. My next step is to sticker it up. I'm toying around with the idea of DIY waterside decals since they have a wider margin for error. Screw up a decal placement? No worries!!! Just print more decals until you get it right!
  12. The tabs on the underside of the backpack area does not slot in tightly with the slots on the lower legs of the valk. The tabs aren't as substantial as the ones on Bandai's vf17. That does a better job of locking the legs in place in fighter mode. The sheer weight of the legs on the Yamato version forces it to droop down by a small amount, since nothing is connecting it tightly with the backpack part of the valk. I've seen other reviews on this site which mentions the same issue. This could've been corrected by a stronger leg armor connection with the underside of the wing, but alas, another missed opportunity by the manufacturer.
  13. Add one more to that list. I've been eyeing the VF-19p and waiting for it to go on sale, but the news freaks me out, and the VF-19 mold to me is the best engineered Yamato mold to date. Solid transformation, tight joints, beautiful in all modes (well, maybe not so perfect in gerwalk mode with the infernal ankle design).
  14. I'm torn between purchasing what could possibly be the only VF-4 Yamato-now-Arcadia produces, and getting a copy with missing parts. Rock, meet Hard Place.
  15. Mine tends to unlock if you hold the fighter without supporting the legs. The legs tend to droop down, dragging the leg armor down and away from the underside of the wing where the tab connects to. If the tabs lock instead of being held by tension, I'd be a lot happier with the $75 purchase. It's overpriced as it is
  16. Just got the super pack for the vf-17s and was wondering if the leg armor tabs should lock into the slots on the underside of the wings??? The tabs on mine don't lock into the slots and disconnect very easily when I'm handling it. Is there something I'm doing wrong??? Still, a very nice addition to the valk
  17. Just got my bazooka from EXO. Man, this thing is beautifully made!!!! Will post pics later. Thanks EXO!!!
  18. Have they announced the RD Deathscythe or Heavy Arms? It would be soooo nice to finally get the whole TV Wing Gundam crew together
  19. Can anyone please recommend a good place to get the fast packs? Would like to avoid eBay if possible
  20. Very much interested, so please do!
  21. ^ LOL! thanks for the pic, Exo!
  22. Thanks Troyness! It's a shame about the cloth. I'm not a person who keeps things MIB but I am very careful with these toys. Now, time to hunt for EXO's pic of the de-clothed Stick.
  23. How is everyone else dealing with the disintegrating cloth on their masterpiece cyclone Scott? The cloth on the crotch area has started to rip apart and the red coating has flaked off. Has anyone ever replaced the cloth suit with a custom-made one?
  24. I just took out my garland and the red bar broke, just like the photos above. Bought the parts from veef's shapeway store immediately and hoping that it works out!
