  1. Although the shoulders on mine were not super-tight to begin with, they have loosened up noticeably. Same with the hip joints, they're not as tight as they used to be.
  2. Please put me down for one as well. Thanks!
  3. I'm a late comer to the Votoms party as I only started collecting Takara's DMZ Scopedogs last November. The DMZ line is pure genius. Realistic weathering, awesome sculpt, and just the right size. The Yamato Scopedogs are beautiful when customized, especially the one posted above by Quinjester. That, sir, is a work of art!
  4. Loving the fast shipping from Amiami...got mine this morning and I'm really happy with it so far. The only other thing that bugs me (besides the easily scratchable paint) is that the cockpit on mine doesn't want to stay closed. Taking out the pilot and the passenger helped some, but only slightly. I don't have my camera now but I can post pictures this weekend if anyone is interested. Would love to hear from folks who have the same problem and have thought of a fix for it.
  5. Thanks for the pics! If I may ask, how are the arms in cruiser mode? Do they sag without the supports, or are they tight and stable enough to swoosh around the room?
  6. Upper shoulder rotation was also a problem for my yf-19. Overdrive shipped me a set of complete arm/shoulder replacement, and even these were as loose as the ones I intended to replace.
  7. I think he meant that the flight deck goes wobbly without the struts in ship mode, not in battroid mode.
  8. Hate to resurrect and old thread, but has anyone ever bought a DMZ-5 Turbo Custom Scopedog with a missing lens on one of the eyes? This isn't normal, is it? Before opening up the package to look for the lens and potentially forfeiting the ability to return the product, I'd like to find out if there are other board members who've had a similar experience. Thanks.
  9. The screw that held the two shoulder pieces together couldn't hold them together as tight since the threading wore out. Once that happened, the shoulder couldn't hold a decent pose any more.
  10. Me too. I just ordered another replacement shoulder for the Garland since my previous replacement shoulder became loose somehow. The replacement was sent via UPS to me two days after sending an email to them. Awesome service!
  11. While my favorite valk toy so far has to be the YF-21, the valk that I covet the most would be exo's Thunder Hammer. It does sexy so well!
  12. No, not floppy at all, but after getting used to the tightness of the YF-21, the relative looseness is noticeable. I have a hard time finding the right pose to balance the valk in battroid mode. I don't remember the ankle joints being ratcheted on the YF-21, but the tightness of the ankle joint didn't need ratcheting to hold most poses, iirc. The color scheme on the VF-22 rocks, though, and I don't regret getting it.
  13. Just got mine from Overdrive Anime this morning and this copy has a loose-ish left wing as well. Fit and finish doesn't look as good as YF-21, seems like a hurried attempt. There's still an ugly gap in the belly plates, and the grey paint on the cockpit is not as well executed as the yellow paint on the YF-21 cockpit. Still, I'm happy with it. With the exception of the somewhat loose left wing, I can live with these imperfections. My Mac-F valks have all been placed back in their boxes, for fear of scratching off any more tampo paints.
  14. Just got my VF-25g (Michel custom) and it's my favorite of the MacF valks so far. Out of the box, the shoulders are tight and the hip connector seems tight as well. Time will only tell, though, if the shoulders and hip connector start to loosen. The left shoulder is super tight (!), but this compensates for the fact that the right shoulder isn't as tight and can't hold the gun without the arm being weighed down. I haven't put on the super pack yet since I plan to spray clear coat on the leg armors to prevent the tampo printing from rubbing off. It pissed me off to no end when the tampo print rubbed off on my Luca's left leg armor...and it was only two days old! I also bought the Alto re-ish and the separate super packs. I plan to do the same to Alto's leg armors.
  15. Any QC issue reported for the Alto Super Parts yet? Like the dreaded paint rub-off? Someone reported that the fit is a skosh tighter, but I'm wondering if the tampo printing is more durable than what we've seen so far?
  16. Others have reported that the head lasers angle out on the re-issue, but mine does not seem to. But they don't angle in, either. They're relatively straight (if not, it's a way easy fix with a hair dryer or hot water). I don't know if that answered your question...
  17. Great. My reissued Alto just came and I was hoping it wasn't going to suffer from paint rubbing off. Bought the super pack too. This one might just sit on the shelf to be admired from afar.
  18. Awesome. I'll shut up about tampo printing rubbing off, going forward. I just hate that so much money is spent on a toy and the paint rubs off easily, of all things. The same can be said about the GFF Metal Composite Zeta Plus Gundam; the tampo paint rubbed off from the chest very easily. Okay, officially shutting up about it...now.
  19. Thanks for the clarification. I did ask them if the payment request was sent to my email, to which they were not able to reply. Like I said, no worries on my part. There may have been a technical issue that prevented the payment request to be sent to my email address. I'll try again when the opportunity to buy another valk presents itself. Thanks for the tutorial, it'll be handy the next time!
  20. AE's prices are very competitive, I've found. Not as cheap as Overdrive but Overdrive's stock level seems low on certain items, so if you see something you like on their website, get it quick. I would definitely give AE a try. My problem may have been technical in nature and they may have been in the middle of fixing it, but I couldn't wait anymore so I canceled my order. Getting back to the DX, does anyone know if the tampo paint rubs off easily on the VF-25g or the reissued Alto and its super parts? Love, love, love the RVF but the tampo paint rubbing off of the leg armor irks me to no end.
  21. I may be the only one here, but I tried ordering through Anime-Export and could never get a payment request from them. When I contacted someone at AE via email to let them know of my problems on their website, they asked if I received a payment request. I asked if the payment request was either sent to my email or appeared as a status update on my account information page (of which neither happened). Never got a reply back from them (probably Golden Week-related???) I buckled and bought my VF-25g through ebay. Not slamming on Anime-Export, since so many members have had great experiences with them. I'll try them again on my next valk purchase.
  22. Unfortunately, getting the fastpack edition doesn't guarantee a perfect YF-19. I bought a YF-19 with the fastpack last year and was disappointed to find that both shoulders were very loose. I don't know if the FP version was ever re-issued. The best bet to get a perfect YF-19 is to probably get one of the repaints when they come out. Assuming, of course, that the shoulder issue will be non-existent in the newer versions. I was lucky enough to get replacement shoulder and arm parts from Overdrive's Yamato replacement service. It's probably my dumb luck, but the replacement shoulders were very loose as well
  23. Thanks for your feedback. I grip the valk at the leg armors when in fighter mode, so that may be what caused the paint on the left side to rub off (the paint on the right leg armor remains intact). I don't manhandle my valks, so it's disappointing that even a little bit of pressure will rub the paint off. I was planning on getting the vf-25g but I'll wait to see if Bandai ever comes out with a v2. Here's hoping that Bandai will allow parts exchange down the road, as Yamato currently does.
