  1. I would love some good scans of the Starleif and the size chart.
  2. Isamu Dyson vs. Renegade Power Armor, with Isamu waiting in the asteroid crater to spring the trap... best macross kill. Too bad that scene isn't in the movie edition (the version I own).
  3. Does this cost more than individual DVDs of Alien and Aliens? If so I'm not interested. The first two are the only ones I'll ever need. I suppose Alien 3 could have been good (not like the 1st two, but what is?), if it had been done better and it hadn't killed off "un-needed" characters from the previous movies so carelessly. Of course, I may just be saying that because Alien 4 sucked so bad that it made me look more favorably on Alien 3 than it really deserves... On a side note: Anyone know if the Aliens DVD out there lets you watch the theatrical release version? The directors cut is fine and all, but after watching them both on vhs until my tapes won't play anymore I think I like the "original" version best. The fear that I will be stuck with the directors cut only is the only thing holding me back from investing in the DVD.
  4. You need to watch it a bit more closely me thinks. edit :in reference to ComicKaze and Evangelion (just in case there was any confusion)
  5. What is a "sequil"? Do you mean sequel? edit: sorry if I sound overly pedantic, I spent all last week grading papers, and all this week writing my own. Lord knows I have my spelling problems...but that one in particular has been one of my pet-peeves ever since I've been on the net.
  6. Because we all know the U.S. is the source of all social/cultural evil right? It makes sense that we have sickos but it becomes sad when we "export" the social deviant? I just don't see what you are getting at.
  7. ohh, that might be the ugliest macross design yet (not counting Macross 7 stuff of course)
  8. 1) How is it that your "friend" hasn't heard that these will be comming out in '04 and not Dec. '03? That's been out for awhile. 2) How is she going to offer us a discount? It was my understanding that Toynami/HG engaged in a form of price fixing in which retailers (at least on the interent) had to sell at 79.99, just like before. 3) How is it that your friend is going to get these in Dec., AND sell them at a discount, thus doing two impossible things? 4) Your friend needs to do more research before she thinks seriously of opening an internet business. No offense intended...that's just how I see it.
  9. If this is your "friends'" store, why do you have to come up with the names...and why are WE voting on them. Wouldn't your friend like to make the final call. Who is this "friend" of yours. If they are going to set up an internet storefront I would assume they have regular access to the net...so why are you acting as their MW rep? Where are they? Mighty curious if you ask me.
  10. eh, it was always my understanding that the Shell-Dor transports could only carry Iagaas w/ boosters. That's what they launch in the first episode...and the published line art has a cross-section drawing of its launch bays, and shows an Iagaa Booster in it.
  11. Best edited? I dunno about that. I like 2001 and all, don't get me wrong, but that openning docking scene could EASILY have been 1/2 as long (as could the whole "kalidoscope" deal at the end). I've got patience out the wazoo, but that one was a bit too long. Seriously though, some people here seem to have some pretty knee-jerk reactions. Just because something is popular they have to loath it. As much as I dislike some ST and what not, it is not even in the same category of bad as "battle for the stars," or "plan 9 from outerspace." Phantom Menace may be the worst StarWars movie...but it has so much going for in in comparission to truely bad sci-fi movies as to make it high art (same goes for ST:V, much as I hate to say it).
  12. Thanks for the compliment. -It is actually a 1970 Trans Am (1st year for the 2nd gen) - I actually don't like the '74-'76 TAs that much. The least attractive of the car's 30-odd year history. After the '74 SD455 there really wasn't much power for the old TAs... - Nope, not for sale I'm afraid. - If you ever get a one again, go for one of the '70-'73...among the best looking american cars ever
  13. I don't know, that dropship doesn't look quite right. Too blocky, with some incorrect proportions. I'll stick with the 1/72 Halcyon
  14. Just wanted to let anyone who is as big an Aliens fan as I am but had not yet seen or heard about this toy (as MW seems almost as much about toys/"collectables" as macross itself). Just got mine in the mail, and I can't tell you how pleased I am with it. It is WAY bigger than the old Halcyon kit, very nicely detailed, and mean as all hell. I think I got mine online for in the $30s. After the years and years of suffering with no adequate Queen Alien (save my expensive Halcyon) salvation is here at last. Did I mention it was big? Came in a box fit for a barbie car (I thought it would come in a box similar in size to the previous Aliens vs. Predater deluxe set). To sum up: if you are a fan of Aliens (I'll even allow you Alien3 and Resurection fans in on it), or Movie Monsters...this is a must have! -oh ya, it comes with a host colonist (stuck to a wall and complete with chestburster). I didn't even take that out of the package though.
  15. Very nice. Thanks for posting this.
  16. Ah...the good old days. All these new games really make me feel old. I haven't really played many new sims since I went off for college back in '96. Since then I have never had enough $ for a top-of-the-line PC (too much other stuff to spend on). I will say that X-Wing Alliance, while not having a campaign quite as good as X-wing or Tie Fighter, was still a great game. Better graphics, lots of playable ships...same rock solid game play. I used to be a huge flight sim fan (I had and loved all the Lucasfilm and Dynamix sims), but they've all gone either super-realistic or arcade-style...and I seem out of a genre. I would like to be a real pilot someday...but I don't want my simulator to try and do it for me. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but Red Baron 2 was just about right. So was Aces of the Pacific. I tried to play my father's Microsoft combat simulator...and I needed the instruction manual to take off! Joystick, rudder buttons, flaps, gear, throttle, weapon selection. That's it, that's all a good simulator needs. PS- have there been any good WWI sims since Red Baron 3D? I played the crap outta that game, but now my 3D card doesn't support it and I need a new game.
  17. Gotta agree, give me Macross II before Macross 7 ANYDAY.

    My art show

Nice job. Keep up the good work. - and resist the calls to make valks, we need more non-VF-1s around here -
  19. Gotta say, I REALLY did'n't like that featurette. Spoilers: - Predators are the mysterious "aliens" that helped ancient man build the pyramids? How lame is that?! I could go into how lame that is...but I hope I don't have to. - The notion that thy built these pyramids as ritual sites for their "coming of age" rite...but only send 5 Predators every 1000 years? Waste of resources. - His scene idea of 3 Preds vs. 1000s of Aliens just seemed lame. It would work for a Warhammer 40K shot, but not for something like this. At least in my opinion it will be a cheasy shot. -I can't get over this...Predators built the pyramids, and hunt from there. Chist is that lame. Why bring in the freakin' pyramids, just to please the crop-circle/x-files geeks? - I said it before and I'll say it again. They should have gone with the original comic story. At least I'll always have that after this movie disappoints me (as it looks increasingly likely that it will).
  20. Well, some of you have probably seen this image, but I heard calls for a fighter mode, so I figured I would post this. It isn't focused too well, and it doesn't appear transformable. It looks like it uses the same components as the battroid, just all cast together in resin... If it is accurate, I'll be happy.
  21. Thanks Barpharanges Now I wonder if there were more re-designs in that booklet... Wish I could find some good scans of it. BTW- always loved your 40K stuff. Saw a lot of it on DakkaDakka when I used to frequent/lurk there.
  22. If all you want is for it too look cool, than just find a design that looks cool. Go look through tatoo books or doodle something yourself. Maybe I'm old fashioned...but unless you have a sponsor, keep the writing off the car.
  23. no, no, no. I know it is a re-design of the Mospeada Inbit Gosu (Robotech: New Generation Invid Royal Command Battloid). I want to know who re-designed it, and why, and anything else...
