  1. It looks like it's basically the same scale as sets 10213 or 10231, but with more detail, so if it doesn't get made, you can fall back on trying to get one of those, or bricklink the parts for one. That said, supported.
  2. I've been doing the same thing, although not way too much. I snagged Alter's Mave on Mandarake in May, and got their Super Sylph on Nippon-Yasan a few weeks ago right before it shot up from 11,000 yen to 18,500. Still waiting for a good deal on the Flip Knight. I wish they would do the other planes from the show. As aerodynamically implausible as it is, the Fand II might be my favorite plane in the fiction I've read/watched. If I can convince myself to learn how to paint, I might have to spend way too much on the Platz kit.
  3. It's listed as "Temporarily out of stock" now, instead of "backordered". So, uh... hm. I hope it comes back so you guys can get yours! And there's a part of me that wants to get another so I can put the S-IVB onto a custom S-IB stage to make a Saturn IB, and then just use the rest of the S-IC and S-II stages as parts fodder. It would be cool to have a full collection of NASA launch vehicles with the Atlas and Titan II, but those are a bit small and probably won't benefit from having the extra Saturn parts. Maybe I'll end up just bricklinking the whole thing.
  4. According to some members on Eurobricks, the traffic overwhelmed legoshop.com for a while as well. I had always planned on going to the local Lego store during my lunch break, but after seeing it backordered in the morning, and reading about some stores not even having enough to cover the people in line, I decided to move my lunch break up to as early as I thought I could get away with. There were "quite a few" left when I got mine about a hour and a half after the store opened, according to the employees there, so I don't know if I got lucky, or if the stories of stores selling out were just isolated cases blown out of proportion. I don't follow Lego news too closely anymore, but I've never heard of a set more anticipated than this one. And hey, at least it's backordered and not sold out completely. It's not all terrible.
  5. Just finished building the Saturn V. "Purty snazzy' is the understatement of the century. The set is amazing. The size is truly impressive, the detailing is elegant and appropriate, it is rock solid (seriously, I can hold it sideways by the S-II, and the S-IC stays put), and it features some really incredible construction techniques that I never thought I'd see on a MOC, much less an official set. Felix, Valérie, Carl, Michael, and Austin did a brilliant job on the design. You all need to go buy it now if you haven't already.
  6. I'm with you. There's a lot more that goes into making these toys than just the raw material and assembly cost. I would rather not have a toy than buy a KO.
  7. Which makes me think that any semi-accurate depiction of a modern dogfight would be boring as all get out. Just a bunch of stealth fighters shooting missiles at not-stealth fighters from way beyond visual range. The only thing approaching a fair fight would feature PAK FAs or maybe J-20s as the enemy fighters, or Super Hornets as the friendlies. F-22s or F-35s against anything non-stealthy would be a slaughter.
  8. Every spring for the last five years or so I've taken my parents to a concert. This year? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=co6WMzDOh1o EDIT: I'm too tired to figure this out now. Youtube's embed link doesn't work for me.
  9. Well the F was still available on Amiami until just the other day, so maybe that's reason to be hopeful the C will be easy to find at release.
  10. Ok, so one of these is a kit and not a toy, but whatever. I'm looking forward to (very slowly) getting another robot from it for my shelf!
  11. Amiami. http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-029641&page=top
  12. Personally I'm getting a Drive w/ Ryan Gosling kind of vibe. But I may have to check out Running Scared.
  13. I have a circa 2004-ish WRC and a 2011 WRX STI hatchback. I don't know if they made your specific model, but Hot Wheels Subarus do exist.
  14. Yep, same here. The extra markings don't do enough for me, they'll look out of place next to my non-premium Roy, and I don't want to spend that much money on these.
  15. I understand this started with the 1J Hikaru (which I don't have), but I didn't think it was still the case. I can't discern a hint of pink in my 1S Roy. Is there variance in the shade between copies?
  16. I'm going to say you probably can't make those plastic clips out of metal, though. The nature of clip-on parts like that is that they need to flex to get over the peg, and while die cast zinc (it's probably zinc) will flex under load, it doesn't do so to nearly the same level that ABS, Nylon, or POM/Acetel do. If you make both the clip and the peg out of zinc, they don't clip together. If you make just the clip out of zinc and leave the peg as whatever plastic they used, then you have a much harder material squishing a much softer material, possibly to the point of permanent deformation. If you make just the peg out of zinc, then well, we're no better off than we are now. Perhaps the entire mechanism should have been designed differently to not use the clips, but just making it out of metal doesn't really work. The wing hinges could probably stand to be zinc though, although I don't think I've heard of those breaking yet. (knock on wood)
  17. Hell yeah! This is news I've been waiting for!
  18. Aren't there doors molded onto the DX? Mine's in battroid mode and I don't feel like transforming it right now, but I think I remember those being there.
  19. Saw the "reseve" button at Hobbysearch, cart jacked at CDJ, but got my order confirmation from HLJ! Woo!
  20. Monday is my first day back on a normal schedule after working second shift for the last five weeks. I'm going to have some problems I think.
  21. I never meant to say the color in the pictures is correct, I just meant that it's hard to say whether it's pink, or red, or magenta, or what. My fault for not being clear. That's a relief, but it does beg the questions of what the color actually is, and what the hell kind of lights are they putting on it that could make it look like that if it really is purple?
  22. It seems to depend a lot on the angle the picture was taken from, the lighting, the camera, etc. Different pictures from that same display show a bunch of different colors. Sometimes it looks pink, sometimes, red, even within differently-lighted sections of the same picture.
