  1. Sort of yes, sort of no. Kinda like some from Column A and some from Column B. For example: Old Sentinels continuity placed this event before the 2nd Robotech War. New continuity places this event sometime after Mars Division gets raped in 2042. So, some of the characters that were in the old continuity at that point have been shuffled off to their fates: Colonel Wolfe and Scott Bernard come to mind. The paradigm shift in equipment has already taken place: Lancer states in Ghost Town that a particular model of the Gallant H-90 dates back to the 2nd Robotech War, etc.
  2. Update for those that care/dont care, want something to bitch about or simply think I suck.....a little preview from Wildstorm of the 1st issue to Prelude to the Shadow Chronicles. And for the record, I was wrong. Its not Bucket Head Breetai thats gonna bite the bullet, its 2nd Lt. Lynn-Kyle. The last issue published by Academy Comics was: And for those that wanna know about that funky looking spacesuit/hazmat suit: Thoughts.... Ok, um...I think. The new paradigm is supposed to replace the old one. That means VR-052T model Cyclones, Colonel Wolfe Flashback semi-rigid armour, and Gallant H-90s are all on the table finally. Thats actually good. Off the table, most likely, are the Southern Cross-based weapons and systems like .40 calibre Weasel pistol, Wolverine Assault Rifle, Alexander Missile Battery Vehicle, and the Montgomery Infantry Fighting Vehicle. Or at least, like the funky hazmat suit, they are on their way out. That kinda saddens me as I love the Southern Cross stuff (of course). Ah well....
  3. Dr. Movie is doing the animation, or at least the CGI elements. Dr. Movie page on Shadow Chronicles
  4. Ok.....that made no sense whatsoever. You don't think the dialogue is gonna change between the two? You do realise the new design of the SDF-3 is contemporary of the Izumo from Mospeada? Protoculture cells will probably still be labeled HBT, like the originals were in Mospeada. There will be no clear references to Southern Cross at all in the new OVA (which sucks ass as far as Im concerned, but then again, I don't get to make those decisions). I fail to see how it could not be repackaged in Japan as Mospeada 2.
  5. Actually, it would appear that it is being sold in Japan as a sequel to Mospeada. For those that care, don't care and just plain want something to oogle/rant about: The next comic series is coming. The refit version of the SDF-3 is now a twin boomed Izumo instead of the (logically) modeled Tokugawa which was a contemporary vessel. Edit: Well, that explains this vessel silhouette, the Shinano-class:
  6. Reminds me of the Delzaq Sturm Gertz from MegaZone 23 Pt. II
  7. Is it me, or does Howl's Moving Castle seem like a retelling (in its own way) of Baba Yaga and her magical hut? Or at least it appears to have elements of the Baba Yaga myth, minus the fact that Baba Yaga was a cast-iron b*tch.
  8. They're never going to do a Hovertank. We've been informed that the mold for the Spartas deteriorated while in storage and is now unusable. Funny how it was the only mold to do so. I tried contacting Playmates over this and their rep informed me that there wasn't anyone left at the company who had been their during the Robotech/Exo-Squad run. So all we have is Harmony Gold's word on the matter. Of course, many of the complaints about doing a Masterpiece Hovertank centered on there not being 'enough diversity of design', which is utter and complete BS. The Spartas, like the VF-1 and Legioss, has a different design for the head due to rank. Then there is the Space Combat Model Conversion seen in Mind Games/BioPsycher as well as an additional Battloid Mode Space Pack (shaped a bit like an Ajax with blades) that is from the animation materials. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
  9. Go away MGREXX. Yes, its obvious this is going to be a Cyclone Masterpiece.
  10. Had to go with the Qui-Gon/Obi-Wan vs. Maul fight, though the Obi-wan vs. Maul was a hair's breadth behind. The fights in RotS were great, but they all lacked the sheer pace that was set in TPM. As for the OT fights, it would have been nice had Luke actually used a fighting style other than 'Batter up!'.
  11. Mine eyes have seen the coming of another Commie horde, If I can hold them off alone Hot Fun is my reward, "Please engage the menace, Citizen" I hear on my comcord, When will the Vultures arrive? (Chorus) Glory, Glory, Hail Computer Glory, Glory, Hail Computer Glory, Glory, Hail Computer My clone keeps marching on. They're advancing on all sides now and I'll soon be overrun, I try to open fire but there's a malfunction with my gun, So I toss a nuke grenade and then turn tail and run, When will the Vultures arrive? (Chorus) The Commies are all vapor now and for that I'm real glad, My geiger-counter indicates I took a thousand rad, I check with the Computer and find out that's not too bad, When will the docbot arrive? (Chorus)
  12. Heh, well, it was on the same page as the Snegoff interview
  13. Size comparison with other ships of the line
  14. Thats the Shimakaze and Shinano-class ships. I'm guessing the Shinano fills the fleet requirements of the Tristar-class Cruiser Leaders while the Shimakaze appears to be a battleship.
  15. I got a copy of HeroQuest on Ebay 2 months ago. Was surprised because its the British 1st Edition (the US edition is technically a revised version). Havent had time to run my friends through it, but I remember playing it. Its quite the collector's item now. I hope to be able to find the expansions like Kellar's Keep and The Return of the Witch-Lord at some flea market one day. A game that is even more fun (but more expensive to own now) is Talisman by Games Workshop. One of the local gamers here in Tampa (Greywolf, btw) runs an Advanced HeroQuest game every year at NecronomiCon and ConGames. I've played twice and had a blast. Of course, he sets his in whatever passes for Ancient Egypt in the Warhammer World. I try and get the Animated Anubis Statue/Tomb Guardian when I play.
  16. Yea, I actually have a hard time buying Vince is the little brother of Claudia and the father of Bowie from the redesign. I hate to say it, but Vince from The Sentinels was more convincing.
  17. Just got back from RotS and I must say that Lucas outdid himself. Awesome movie. I will say that RotJ had a much better capital ship battle in space, but this was no slouch. Great lightsaber duals throughout. Clone Stormtroopers looked awesome and were total badasses. Ah....can't wait to go see it again in about 15 hours.
  18. I had my heart set on Middle-Earth Online (now The Lord of the Rings: Shadows of Angmar), but the Turbine Devs have turned out to be tards that are simply repacking DDO and passing it off as LotRO.
  19. Yea, Im planning on getting Battlefront II when it comes out. From what I read about the first Battlefront, it was a buggy mess in many cases. Hope that changes.
  20. Congrats Noriko. Already have your Cold War Service Medallion?
