  1. 2018 might be just about the time Max Factory releases its Jaeger kits, assuming that these are even still in the pipeline.
  2. Hi Xigfrid, I'm basically starting my own brand of automatics. That hand-made prototype is just the beginning of what I started 2 years ago. I'm aiming for a $3600 USD retail with a full titanium case/buckle and Soprod A10 movement. Just like with my models, my motto is do it right, or don't bother doing it at all-- which, according to my engineers, turned into one of the most complicated watch designs they've ever worked on. You can check-out the Facebook link in my sig, or PM me if you have any questions.
  3. Excellent build, congratulations! Such a beautiful color scheme, who in their right mind wouldn't love this? Oh, and a little contribution of my own. Not anime, but definitely worth WATCHing!
  4. A crappy pic of my otherwise awesome project.
  5. Smart move on Bandai's behalf, since I'm sure that they will offer a version with the extra gear and boxes later, knowing that die-hards will want both versions. It also looks like the sidewalls are Original Trilogy versions. The Captain approves!
  6. For what it's worth, pilot figs for virtually all Japanese mecha kits are undersized. You can try finding another pilot figure, though it may not fit in the cockpit. I have a bit of experience with this.
  7. My heart goes pitty-patt at the idea of a 1/72 Aluminum Falcon. Having gotten the 1/144 kit and marveled at the detail, I can just imagine how purely awesome it would be. Here's to hoping for a future release to go with the other 1/72 kits. *Prays to the plamo gods*
  8. Looks like you're in the home-stretch, derex. Excellent work so far
  9. That's a brave undertaking for that kit, but I like what I'm seeing thus far. To be fair, if you think the variable Imai Valkyries were bad, stay away from the Mospeada ride-armors: I can say with confidence that they blow superior! One thing I liked about that Imai Valk was the way the arms were nicely proportioned, unlike more modern designs that have hideously spindly arms that seem like more of an afterthought than anything.
  10. And definitely made possible thanks to your assistance Not a Macross project to be sure, but it will be a challenge very different from anything I've tackled before. And I see that a certain special someone has crabs, congratulations!!
  11. Very cool project! Hands look a bit, uh, ginormous, but it works from an animation stanpoint. Keep up the great work.
  12. I encourage you to pick-up one of their Star Wars kits, you will see that the child-friendly blunt edges and soft detail all go out the window: a testament to what they can do when they actually want to. I think it has more to do with the market segment they're targeting and possibly a need to keep costs reasonable. The fighters themselves are Okay looking, but the battroids... Bleh!
  13. Looking forward to the next installment in the franchise. Hopefully it will be chock-full of alegorical symbolism just like the others.
  14. It also looks like a Power Rangers thingamabob.
  15. Now THAT... Is a MACROSS!!
  16. Wow, never saw that coming! I've been meaning to get Mac + in digital format... I can finally retire my VHS tapes!!
  17. Very nice work Andrea. I really like that charcoal gray, reminds me of the YF-23. The good thing about aircraft painted in matt dark colors is that the color fades with exposure to sunlight, so there are always opportunities to show minute scuffs, paint retouches and general grime.
  18. More or less the same in terms of proportions (DX Renewal toy and 1/72 kit, I mean.) The kits are also priced at less than half what the DX toys are going for. As I stated previously, the styrene kit, even when well built will not stand up to frequent handling like the ABS+metal toy. It's really a matter of determining what you intend to do with it, followed by what you're willing to pay. Sandman: Bandai kits, be they Gundam or Macross, benefit from very similar engineering so you need not worry about build difficulty.
