  1. Diecast should only be used in the internal framework or mechanism for durability such as the sliding mechanism to pull the feet out if cost is not a major factor. Discoloration and paint loss are the major gripes to use Diecast in external parts.
  2. Or he could be modifying the mounting point to fit newly developing project?

    1/48 dead?

Because V2 1/60 is Yamato's answers to the dying 1/48. It's been almost 8 years and the V2 1/60 is still going strong.

    1/48 dead?

The 1/48 is dead as soon as the V2 1/60 were released. Anyway the 1/48 is too big to make it feasible in many ways, and it's one of their older generation toy engineering, poor materials and bad fitments, that they don't want you to remember now.
  5. Is this thing "Big West" friendly?
  6. Another Chinese knockoff? I remember seeing picture of the Yamato's kit in a trash can because it was heavily damaged after the show, maybe someone picked it up from Yamato's trash bags?
  7. The kit comes with the valkyrie in battroid mode only, Those armors are removable once built IIRC. http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/models/yellowsub/vf1_armor.htm
  8. I think this is how they size it.
  9. I guess it's been a while since the last time you made a purchase on Yamato/Arcadia toys, they have been doing that for many release before.
  10. Yeah, lucky dude. The waterslide decal is usually in blue background.
  11. Not much, but worth to look for. http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljlist?SaleGroup=20140306_MC&header=MacrossSale0314&utm_source=HobbyLink+Japan+Newsletter&utm_campaign=07b78af72e-Macross_Models_Sale_3_10_2014&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_baa74bea0a-07b78af72e-225737661
  12. Great kit-bashed from the Yamato and Exosquad figure.
  13. Yamato/Arcadia has been doing a very good job in matching the paint on diecast. Usually you can't tell much from the naked eyes, but photograph will make it pops.
  14. I think the kite should be parallel with the panel lines on the wings.
  15. Don't forget that the tinted canopy will appear much darker when mounted on the fuselage.
  16. IMO there is no way to get a transforming toy done that closes to the line art. The chest plate of the Yamato fighter is stretched while the back end looks close to the line art, the other way around for the Arcadia. The Arcadia has the front end proportion, but the feet is wide and stubby. The Yamato version is optimized in long and sleeker Fighter mode, but skinny Battroid mode which is the other way around for this new Arcadia version. The conclusion is no way you can change something in sleek mode into stubby mode without morphing it.
  17. The gap between the knee cab and leg is always black.

  19. Sorry, that was a bad joke. The body is as yellow as the stripe now.
  20. Is that the Roy's scheme? I can't find the yellow stripe.
  21. It's always good for the late buyers when something get reissued, but the reissue is an easy pass for me since I already have multiple Yamato's. I will go back for the off white version by Yamato if I need more, same thing goes for those who have incomplete collection in the line.
  22. Only if this one was made in off white like the Yamato V2.
  23. It really depends on the environment you have, but all plastics age no matter what colors. Apparently bright white picks up all the difference. My first Hikkie 1J back in the 2008 shows signs of yellowing comparing with the reissue gray goggle version.
