  1. Unfortunately it does, that's the reason that using bright white on a plastic toy is a bad choice to begin with.
  2. Honestly in the real life nothing is pure bright white, even any white cars that you see on the street are some sort of "off white" which can subtlety blend into the environment. IMO debating the white in the scenes is irrelevant, the answer is inconsistent shades of whites. You will never see any valkyrie artworks in white as well. I don't know why Yamato chose to have different whites on the TV and Movie schemes, but the point is having pure bright white plastic on a toy is a bad choice.
  3. Because it's in the movie paint scheme, but they decided to change the body from off white to white.
  4. They really should have went the other way around to off white.
  5. There are some close up pictures in the box at Hobbysearch. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10235968
  6. The off white from Yamato will be missed. I actually wish all the VF-1 were made in that off white color, it never get old.
  7. The best picture of the 1/72 scale painted Minmay is on Bandai official site.
  8. The 30th VF-1J shows their capability to bring their tampo printing into the next level. I was amazed by how beautiful it was for the AB, but the 30th VF-1J is spectacular when you look at the actual toy in your hands.
  9. I paid 4510 yen via Fedex Express for 3 Arcadia VF-1 valkyries last month.
  10. I think it's very subjective if that is the case. The YF-19 always appears short and bulky to me in battroide mode but skinny & sleek in fighter mode. This is the reason that most sculptors find it difficult to make it in 3D on transforming toys or models.
  11. The V2 is the answer for skinny and elongated torso.
  12. There is an update from Masei, it looks like they are doing some changes. http://www.masei-helmets.com/blog/844-new-demi-air-jet-motorcycle-helmet-for-macross-robotech-fan-bikers-molding-prototype-almost-done
  13. I think they have found the balance between fighter and battroid mode despite the thickness in that area. The line art is basically just a result of anime magic with tear drop shape intake in battroid, but VF-1 style intake in fighter mode.
  14. The Griffon labor is fantastic up to this day in my book.
  15. Deja Vu TT toys VS Bandai almost 30 years later.
  16. Nice pictures, are you using the water slide or decals?
  17. I always have a light cream color in mind when it comes to YF-19, those shades in the screen shot look much creamier and definitely not off white.
  18. Not sure what I am looking at, is that the mass production commercial sample?
  19. I saw this picture from Arcadia on FB, so I was wondering is that the commercial sample?
  20. Well, "a bit" is not the word that I would use to describe the price tag.
  21. Nope I meant in general they crave the clear version. Clear super parts, clear Hasegawa or Bandai kits, clear Anime characters or hairs, too much to list down but these are always the special edition gimmick that people after the most over there. I could be wrong.
  22. For some reasons the folks in Japan crave the transparent materials.
