  1. Am I the only one find it attractive?
  2. Well, this is the reason that Yamato took the measure to make their toys in 1/60 scale. The VF-1 is a lot smaller in the anime to begin with when we compare it with the VF-22. The VF-22 will be huge and expensive if they continued their line in 1/48 scale.
  3. My concern is are they going to make the child proof blunt nose cone like the Jetfire? Anyway, just keep the fingers crossed that Arcadia will continue the line from Yamato, the 30th Ann. is a good start IMO.
  4. I've never bought any 1/48 VF-1, but the 1/48 is dead and never returned for good. Like many folks have discussed in other threads, 1/60 scale is the way to go in term of production costs and size for the rest of the line.
  5. In order to make pre-color parts, they have to break it down into more parts, which we don't see that from what have been shown. The stripes on the chest, legs and wings have to be in separate pieces, especially each halve of the leg and stripe that make the unique M&M schemes.
  6. These are all old pictures that have been posted before couple pages back.
  7. We don't know what's gonna be changed, but one thing that I do know right now is the rendering art is completely different from the Hasegawa. At this moment it is a Yamato 1/60 V2 rendering.
  8. I'll buy at least 2 of them just to support Arcadia and the 30th Ann.
  9. We might not know what's going to happen, but I don't think Arcadia is doing a brand new toy line. It's not just about the hook, but both renderings are completely DIFFERENT in proportion from tip to toe.
  10. yup, the Yamato still looks skinny when they first came out for those who used to looking at the 1/55. The Hasegawa will look like set of skeleton without fresh in Battroid mode. This is one of biggest flaws to an otherwise perfectly made model, but luckily they fix that in their 1/48 line.
  11. Yup, another obvious clue is that you can see the yellow back pack in fighter mode for Hasegawa's side profile, but you can't see the backpack for Yamato's V2.
  12. It's a Yamato V2 rendering from the OP's image. Besides the rotating hook, another hint is the joint at the hip area where it swings down to make Gerwalk. That's an unique shape in that particular joint from Yamato V2.
  13. I'd say all kits are done in the same factory, but the minor discolouration may due to different batches of materials.
  14. They made that to differentiate the tv and movies from day one back in 2008. All kits are in white except the VF-1D.
  15. The sprue mark is everywhere on each part, it's much obvious if you have the Alaska base VF-1A. I'll take the toy from you if you can't stand the "scratch".
  16. IIRC the goggle on the M&M is metallic gray, but the paint on Hikkie 1J is just plain gray. DIY is fairly easy. I picked up a regular standalone VF-1J from HLJ last year to paint it gray because it comes with improved crotch and tint-less canopy. The only reason that I would grabbed the goggled one is for the box, which I think I should have done that back then.
  17. There is no doubts that this kit has some great gimmicks that were never done before, but Bandai is way too late in the market. This would be an awesome kit if it's for 20th Anniversary back then.
  18. I think this kit should be fixed in between gerwalk and battroid mode to show the transformation gimmicks once built and painted.
  19. From your pictures, the toy is molded in color like all other commercial toys that we are getting. I think this is more like a mass production sample given to Graham by Yamato back then. I don't think it's a pre-production sample, needless to say it's definitely not the painted prototype that we see on box art for advertisement.
  20. I think the delivery mechanism will go back to the torso once the legs are attached to the nose cone. Another innovative mechansim is how they solve the overhang main wings by retracting them in battroide mode. I'm not sure about the feasibility of having extra movable joints at the foot though.
