The fit and finish of even Bandai's premium line lags behind Yamato 2008. If that's the worst problem you have, then consider yourself fortunate.

It's what I've said before: it's completely ass backwards that Bandai makes its own customers go through so much hassle and frustration to buy their stuff. Yes, the blame is with Bandai. I agree with the reviewers. If Bandai is so goddamn afraid of their stuff spending a whole five minutes sitting on a store shelf, then get rid of the shelf and make all Macross releases TWE. What retailer is going to miss it? There's so many other more popular properties they can stock their shelves with, and they do. Walk into a large shop like Amiami or Yodobashi and you'll find aisles and aisles of Gundam but maybe a shelf of Macross, if you're lucky.

Opened my 1S and played with it a bit. It's fine. I'm glad I have one, but not super stoked or anything. Perhaps the incredible hassle that Bandai puts people through to buy their stuff has blunted my enthusiasm. It has all the same good and bad points of every previous DX VF-1. My copy has the worst fitting airbrake of all my DX's. It does not sit flush and leaves an unsightly gap. 001 is printed correctly on both stabilizers. WTF happened to Bandai's idiotic excuses about symmetry? Ah well. it's still cool toy and worth getting. Just try not to pay too much for it if you can. Will it replace my Yamato TV 1S? Absolutely not.

What do I need to do to get this wonderful decal set? Just got home and opened the box. I'm only getting one of each DX now, so hopefully no QC issues.

Thanks! And ugh thanks for reminding me that each DX release means breaking out the white paint and primer and masking tape again. I bet there's no ejection seat marking or skull emblem behind the cockpit too...

Ah, I figured about 6k for DHL shipping from Amiami. I used that to convince myself to buy one off an Amazon seller for 27k shipped.

Mine was from eomochayasan who I've purchased stuff from before. It'll probably ship out within the next 2 or 3 days via DHL. $260 shipped for mine after using Amazon points. They're not going to pull an NY if that's what you're concerned about.
