It's going to be a game prize figure, so I wouldn't expect particularly high quality. I wonder if they'll give us different molds for everyone or just use the same body with different heads? It'd be funny and disappointing to see Roy and Hikaru the exact same height.

You can live with one lung and one kidney. You don't need your spleen or gallbladder. And you can remove a substantial part of your liver and it'll grow back. Hoping the new armor packs will actually let you stow the pod underneath like in the screenshots so Arad's insignia is still fully visible in battroid.

Macross Δ (Delta) Movie Gekijō no Walkūre (Passionate Walkure)
Lolicon replied to no3Ljm's topic in Movies and TV Series
People on the internet get quite upset when you shatter their echo chamber by not falling in line with their opinions. Quite amusing. I enjoy bashing Delta because it's a f***ing terrible show. I'll be in Tokyo in the the spring so I'll catch the movie if it's still playing. I get the feeling that a B- is probably much too generous.- 810 replies

Opened up my VE-1. Surprisingly, I like it a lot more than the regular HMR VF-1 releases. The extra packs really hide the ugly HMR fighter mode (I said the same thing way back when we got Hikaru's Strike 1S) and makes it look so much better. And, strangely enough, the tabs actually hold the legs in place in fighter mode, something that was a real problem on my past HMRs. It's a step down from the Yamato VE-1, but if you missed out on that, this one is fine. Why, the VE-1 is positively adequate. Adequatulent, even! Is the radome supposed to sit that high? It looks weird like that. It's not perfect though. It has a crooked nose, like it got broken in a bar fight and didn't heal right. That UN Spacy kite is comically large; I measured it and it's even bigger than the 1/60 version. My copy also has a nasty paint splash on the cockpit UN Spacy kite. Love that HMR quality! With its big brother.

Hmmm that sounds like a great idea! All that Macross stuff suddenly appearing on HLJ... My wallet would be a lot lighter tonight if I didn't already have all that stuff. Or put another way, my wallet was already made lighter by those things. -
Geez, did the MII UN Spacy source their heat shields from discarded Soviet spacecraft?

LOL! True enough.

And Bandai is milking an 8 year old mold with their HMR VF-1. Did you guys think that crap was brand new? I consider the HMR VFs "overpriced" as well. *chuckle* They cost as much as 1/60 toys from 10 years ago but are vastly inferior in quality. We are living in the past, right? A premium finish VE-1 might be interesting, but I'm not sure I like it enough to drop that kind of money on it. Not being a hero unit also hurts its chances of that happening.

All valkyries get very little screen time in Delta. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm expecting about 12 seconds of valkyrie action and 90 minutes of people talking about "tainting the wind" or some BS.

Looks fantastic! If anything, I'd say you have too few decals on the wings, at least going by the Yamato and Hasegawa manuals. I guess the Master File has a more scant arrangement? The skulls on the decal sheet are all off center on mine, so I just used the stickers as well. They have no excess around the edges and fill up the entire circle area on the fast packs so you won't even be able to tell they're stickers once you clear coat it. Shame that the 3rd party decals have so many mistakes and omissions. Time to scrounge more Hasegawa decals sheets I guess. Now you just have to transplant a rainbow tinted canopy from an older valk and yours will be perfect!

So? If you scale a VF-31 with yourself, you realize the arms are thicker than yours. They're still spindly looking. I don't like the J because it's an all around ugly ship. Also, Enterprise-J just sounds so corny. Like movie sequels that drop the numbers after enough sequels, you can drop the lettering. -
Nothing says camouflage like bright purple! Obviously sell, sell, sell stuff. It's a damn shame they can't tell an interesting story and sell merchandise. It's not as if the two are mutually exclusive.

It's consistent with the details (or lack of) from all the Enterprise Phase 2 images I've seen, i.e. lack of aztec mottling, more like the 1960s Enterprise. Now the refit Enterprise they released awhile back was also missing surface details, and that I would consider a mistake, which they corrected on the A release. -
I don't usually do posters of such things, but in this case I'll make an exception.

Looks great! I'm going to have to follow your lead and flip through the master file book, since I have the same decal sets. Be sure you put a gloss coat over your work if you plan on doing a panel wash! The thin panel lines are obviously intentional. Inconsistencies are just that: inconsistencies. They can arise from the molding process, aging dies, sloppiness, etc. Bandai uses thicker & deeper panel lines but they're inconsistent in thickness and depth too, so it's not just an Arcadia issue. While they look alright at the DX scale, they're way too thick for HMR scale. I actually like the super fine panel lines, but I do have to use a mechanical pencil as it's really hard to get wash to stay properly in some of them, especially the super shallow ones that didn't get molded properly (the underside of the VF-1 front fuselage is especially bad).

A bundle would cost like $350 and a lot of people would balk at such a price tag. It's always possible, but I think more likely Arad's 31 will be regular retail and the armor will be a web exclusive. Can't wait to preorder this!

They also use it in the episode "Timeless" where it kills the entire Voyager crew except for Harry and someone else I can't remember because Voyager is that unmemorable. It was one of the better Voyager episodes though. Was hoping for 15% but I guess 5% is okay too. Too bad most everything I have on preorder currently is Order Stop. -

If you like, you can send it to me and I'll gladly open it for you! -
Yeah I almost bit but then it's going to become "obsolete" for me next month once the PF comes out. Plus I got lots of other preorders to pay for.
-
Whew! So glad it sold out. I had my hand on the checkout button for a few minutes... really trying to hold out for the PF version.
-
LOL! I was going to add additional decals to my Arcadia PF, and I'm hoping it turns out half as well as yours! Yours looks friggin' amazing!! You're using the master file book as reference? So many decals beyond what Arcadia will tampo print...
