"The HMR VF-4 is leaps and bounds better than the Yamato version!" Sorry to hear about the breakage. I have an extra unit I plan on selling at cost, so if you're interested, I'll let you know when I post it in the Sale section. It's been opened but never transformed; just took some pics and put it back. Only thing is you'll have to sand out a super glue fingerprint left by a sloppy factory worker, which shouldn't be hard to do.

Since it's technically non-scale, Bandai can use any scale they want. No one said the human figures and valks had to be the same scale. But we already knew that from the wildly different pilot sizes Bandai has given us.
-
It doesn't disappoint me because my expectations for HMR VF-1s is pretty damn low. I know what level of quality to expect from Bandai.

All the early V2 Yamatos had rainbow canopies. I mean, I didn't add the rainbow canopy myself, if that's what you're asking.

It's just Bandai cheaping out, as usual. That's how they get ya. Cut a little corner here, a little corner there. Don't paint the back cover, stop painting the navigational lights, "accidentally" give you two left leg armor pieces because for some ungodly reason they didn't make the same number of left and right pieces, only one seated pilot figure for a two seater aircraft, etc.

Is Minmay meditating to the 1D?
-
No, the orange of the colored plastic (chest) is clearly different from the orange paint (legs, wings).
-
I keep my valks clean so they don't get lines of mold on them.
-
I can easily tell the difference in orange on my phone screen too.

No seated Minmay? dafuq Bandai

Was that picture taken using a flip phone from 2006?

Woohoo! Now you just need Max & Miria's 22s! And their VF-1Js, if you don't already. -
Same. Shipping notice from Amazon. Yay!

Pretty sure I've spent more at Mandarake than any other Japanese shop. It's thanks mostly to them I've been able to fill in pretty much the entire back catalog of Yamato releases, long out of production. I can live without the VF-X and Cavaliers, which are the only ones I'm missing, I think. -
The extra marking detail really does make it look a lot better.

Got billed by Amazon for the 1D. Hurray!

Wow your pic there makes it look way more appealing than all the professional promo pics from way back when it came out. Now I wish I had bought one. Hey where's the gunpod? LOL I was just pulling, uh, I forgot whose leg I was originally pulling. Really, both Kakizakis are hard to find now, even though they were major shelf warmers back in the day. -
Someone still want the 35th anniversary 1J? https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1106802839&ref=list&keyword=マクロス

No one is as annoying or as much of a Mary Sue/Marty Stu/author insert as Wesley. Just ask Eugene Wesley Roddenberry about it.

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0
Lolicon replied to wolfx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I've read the Fate visual novel and found myself fast forwarding through the sex scenes. It's a porn where the plot is more interesting. The 2006 Fate/stay night TV series was terrible, thanks to ham-fisted efforts to try to cram three completely divergent storylines into one, result in an incomprehensible mess. Also, Studio Deen sucks. Emiya Shirou also sucks as a protagonist and human being. The Fate/Unlimited Blade Works anime was a lot better, focusing only on the UBW route. Shirou is also more interesting as an extension of Emiya Kiritsugu's story arc. But that requires having seen Fate Zero, which was decent. Ufotable simply did a way better job on the anime adaptations than Studio Deen. -
Discovery has many problems, and at this point it's arguable where it falls on the "bad" scale relative to the other series. Personally I'm trying to decide if it's better or worse than Voyager. Though it's better than first season TNG, Enterprise (excluding most of season 4), and most of TOS. DS9 is still the best Trek series. I'd love to see a Captain Pike series set aboard the Enterprise before Kirk. You already built the sets, CBS, so just do it!
