Omfg took like 20 minutes but finally finished checking out at Amiami!
-
Cartjacked at HS.
-
Does Amiami require payment up front?
-
I've managed a couple of times, but you really have to be riding the wind to get a preorder there.
-
I'd rather have a brand new YF-29, re-engineered from the ground up.
-
Having unit specific sets would spare people from having to buy 4+ at the same time to outfit the entire skull squadron, knowing that Bandai pretty much never reissues their web exclusives.
-
Great now I'll have to go and check my other 29s to see if they have the correct shoulders or if I'll need to purchase this reissue. I never bothered checking after the SWS issue became known. I'd like to see a YF-30 reissue instead with corrected SMS since I think all of them have that issue.

I'm surprised Xaos would spend so much money on super customized VFs for such terrible pilots. No wonder they couldn't afford ammunition.

So, uh, I was only ever kidding in my past remarks about including a bloody seat... But if that's your thing, you can buy one here. https://www.bigbadtoystore.com/Product/VariationDetails/94995

Thanks! Still need to experiment with the photo booth a bit. Finally got a decent shot of my TV Roy Hikaru. -
Hey David, I'll trade you my non-PF fast packs with no insignias for your cheap insignia fast packs if you like. Not kidding.

Yeah, I'm gonna detail her up before putting her back on the Yeti stand, since it was an ordeal taking everything down. Tip: don't leave the landing gear doors open when trying to pull the legs out of fighter lock.

Your most recent Macross or toy purchase! General thread.

Whoa that's a pretty sweet setup! -

Trying out different backgrounds besides the plain grey one I've been using to see if things look any better. Blue seems to work better than black for my camera. -
It's been a couple of years since I mounted my Yamato VE-1 on its Yeti stand, so I had a hell of a time taking it down to do the canopy swap. With that in mind, I'm going to do all the detail work I want on my PF VE-1 before putting it back on the Yeti stand so I won't have to go through that ordeal again. So I took some pics fully loaded before I take it apart to work on. Really love how it looks with the extra markings.

Different color and forearm armor is different. TV armors also have the UN Spacy kite instead of squadron specific emblems.
-
Do you guys prefer the Yamato pilots with their yellow livery or the Arcadia pilots in beige/tan/whatever?
-
It's subversion! They're subverting your expectations for a correctly placed skull emblem. Just like the last season of Game of Thrones, which everyone loved.

No one ever walks away empty handed with Bandai at the helm.

It's even higher up than on the HMR, though the HMR has the elongated torso that makes it look like it's even higher up. So is anyone going to buy at least 4+ sets of SSPs in anticipation of the rest of the DYRL squadron? That's a huge up front payment. Or does anyone think Bandai will actually reissue these TWEs later on? I don't have any faith in Bandai to do such a thing. They didn't reissue super parts for Hayate's rebuilt 31J, so if you didn't order 2x earlier, you had to pay a mark-up elsewhere if you wanted them on your 31J Kai.

There is the benefit to those who just want the valk by itself, but for anyone wanting more than that, it's going to cost them. You don't even get any ordinance with the valk. Even the old Yamato standalone releases gave you missiles. And yeah, good luck on PO nights!
-
Yep. I've paid about 25k for each PF Arcadia VF-1 that's been released. I estimated way back that by the time you've bought the valk, missile set, and super parts, it'll run about 35k for a fully loaded Bandai VF-1 (assuming you managed to even get a preorder and didn't have to pay a mark-up elsewhere). With the announcement of the super/strike parts, it looks like my original estimate was not too far off. Oh, and let's add on three shipping fees on top of that, because who here will have managed to buy the valk, missile set, and super parts all at the same shop, kept them all in a private warehouse for who knows how long, and shipped them all in one box? So yeah, even in absolute costs, it's considerably more than an Arcadia valk. But as mentioned you do get a bigger, more newly engineered valk. But they still refuse to paint the landing gear. And took three releases before adding the ejection seat warnings, along with some additional, obnoxiously large text.

We wanted more tampo, and Bandai gave it to us. Bandai is the monkey's paw.
