Depends on what you define a scalper is. The description you gave? I don't think so. To me a scalper is someone who buys things for the sole purpose of immediately reselling them at an inflated price. As for "just pay the scalpers/mark-up so you can get some sleep" advice? That's well and good if you can afford it. Not everyone has that kind of disposable income; for some peeps $100 is a lot of money. I've said on more than one occasion that these are luxury items so if you can't afford them it shouldn't be a big deal. Nobody needs valkyrie toys. But it's still pretty shitty if you're forced out of collecting because the combination of scalpers and Bandai producing extremely limited quantities has driven said items out of your price range. For my part, $100 isn't a huge deal. But I refuse to pay inflated prices to scalpers or NY or whoever on principle. And staying up for PO nights is no problem since I work nights anyway, so I'm not losing any sleep. But it is a bit of a hassle speed preordering on a phone. I've been through many PO madness nights like this, but they've gotten better over the years, until the recent Max 1A BS, and now this. Goddammit Bandai, why is this crap getting worse? Last night was just F-ing frustrating as hell. Bandai is making something that is supposed to be fun into a frustrating chore. Don't know how much more I'll put up with before I just give up altogether.

This is how the preorder madness went down for me: HS came up first. Added to cart with no major slowdowns but was already sold out after getting past the login screen. Apparently I was not riding the wind. Amiami next. Kept getting that maximum connections error when trying to add to cart. Tried numerous times and failed. Jumped to another tab when CDJ went up. Entire site ground to a halt at the login page. By the time things started moving again, it was sold out. This will be a recurring theme. AE came up next. From the start I kept getting some coded error message and had to reload each page many times before it loaded properly. By the time I was ready to check out, they were all gone. HLJ next. Like everyone else it took forever to add to cart and check out. Went to order stop status before things started moving again. I did have NY's stupid ticket system going in another tab this whole time. Started at 1100 something, then managed to get into the 600s before it jumped back to 1100s. That stupid ticket kept going up and down for over an hour and a half and of course they were long sold out before I could get in. After that I jumped back to the Amiami tab and the orange preorder button of hope was still there, so I clicked it, waited a couple of minutes, and miraculously it added to cart! Each screen took about 3 or 4 minutes to move to the next one, but I stuck it out and managed to make it all the way to the end and get an order! Yay! F U Bandai for creating this situation, and F the retailers for having such spectacularly crappy websites.

I like how buying Bandai valkyries is so inexpensive and hassle-free compared to Arcadia. I hate those guys!

HLJ's site sucks. Took forever to even get to my cart, and froze and now on order stop... and it shows 1 VF-1S in my cart for 18000 yen, with a grand total of... 36000 yen?! WTF HLJ.

HLJ took forever to sign in and now it says product is no longer available. F***ing terrible websites.
