  1. That's how we spell it in Canada too, also we spell armor as armour too. Back on topic but isn't there some types of bleaching agents that you can use on plastics? I'm sure it would be a chore to use, but it is a possibility.
  2. Awesome pics!!! By the way the VF-25's don't look THAT bad in Gerwalk mode, maybe not as pretty as the Yamato's but far from the nose in the dirt, ass end in the air that some members say it can only do.
  3. I've been here for awhile but haven't really posted much so my opinion here really doesn't matter. But I've been a Mod and a Admin for years at other boards and if there enough complaints about a certain Mod from VARIOUS members then whoever actually runs this board should have a serious look at that Mod IF it is warranted. The purpose of Mods is to help facilitate what's best for the board in general and not individual members or their own self interest. Perhaps a rotating staff of Mods is possible, that way no Mod, no matter how long they've been here or how many posts will get a sense of entitlement. Or perhaps time limits on their "terms", how about this board elects new Mods every year from members who have shown proper respect to their fellow members, are helpful and helped guide this board in a positive way, and are knowledgeable of Macross but not arrogant enough to think they know everything and are willing to learn. But in the end you can't please everyone and a little show of respect goes a long way.
  4. Yeah, Kawamori got a lot of flack for designing the MP versions by Transformer fans but I think most didn't know that he designed the originals in the first place so it came full circle.
  5. Yeah that's what I thought, so I guess you can say the Seekers were the Grandfathers of all Macross fighters.
  6. Thanks, I've been lurking here for years and I'm a Admin over at Robot-Japan so I know that some members of a board can get a little hara kiri
  7. Is Megatron's head between his legs in tank mode? What a fitting metaphor for these new Movie designs
  8. Considering where I am I'm expecting the villagers to burn me at the stake lol. On a side note I've been wondering which design is older, the Seekers or the VF-1's? I'm assuming it's the Seekers if you go back to the Diaclone roots but I'm not 100% sure I guess it depends on when the Takatoku Macross figures came out.
  9. Well I think despite the fact that both are transformable jets that turn into robots there quite different. The Seekers have a realistic jet mode based on a actual F-15 so there robot mode is constrained by that while the Valks may be based on modern jets they don't have to follow any set designs and can fudge a bit here or there to make a better looking end product. Personally I think the seekers look better in robot than say the YF-21 and for sure the SV-51, but it's all a matter of taste.
  10. Yeah I love the finish on Thundercracker and Skywarp (my favorite), it's like a pearl finish and makes me wish either version of Starscream had that instead of the flat finish. As for making Ramjet, Thrust, and Dirge I'm sure it would be easy for Takara to make them. Here by the way are some custom made figures of the coneheads (not by me unfortunately), they look amazing! 11. I bought the two pack, right now the new joint system on Tetsujin probably makes it the best "standard" SOC right now. There's already a new Mazinger Z using the same double joints coming out. By the way there are double joints in the elbows, a joint in the chest, and two joints in the crotch (the whole hip joint and you can extend the ball joints).
  12. Here's one, Tetsujin 28 the live action movie. Pretty good and considering Tetsujin 28 is the Godfather of ALL giant Super Robots is desearving to be on this list. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encycloped...ime.php?id=4312 Video clip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mL7I_0_ogM0
  13. Oh I agree I would still rather have Yamato continue with making new Macross toys including from the new series since they already have the experience in designing variable mode Valks and probably had a head start in CAD designs before Bandai. And lisensing agreements in Japan is very complex, Bandai produces alot of shows and video games that have characters that other companies have toy lisenses for and cannot or will not make figures of their own such as Gaogaigar, Mazinkaiser, or even the newer Getter designs. I learned that a handshake or even a "honor" system means as much as a signed contract in Japan. Just look at their SRW's games, only in Japan could they produce and sell a game that contains so many different characters with so many lisensing issues.
  14. Thanks! And I did read the whole thread, my point was you can't go by the toys and model kits that were released by Bandai in the 80's and early 90's to what we have now just based on the fact that it has been about 15-20 years and the market has changed from kid to adult collectors. Also correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the Macross license go to Yamato in the early 90's due to Macross Plus and the fact nobody really wanted it. I believe it was because of the SOC line that a market for high-end toys was created or atleast expanded and if Bandai saw that there was enough of a market and profit potential that they would put the effort into a high quality Macross product. Just look at Aquarion, the toy that Bandai made was a engineering marvel and it was based soley on a new series that has nowhere the history of Macross and the strength and fame of it's designer.
  15. If you honestly don't think Bandai can make a top quality Macross toy then you've haven't seen the latest SOC's. Also you can't count those old 1/55 toys since they weren't a Bandai product to begin with and were only re-released as a toy for classic collectors. If Bandai did make new Macross figures you can bet the diecast amount would be higher than Yamato's and probably the price would be lower too just because of the sheer size of Bandai as a company. But still I would prefer Yamato to stick with it just for consistency sake. Or why couldn't both companies share the license, Yamato could make 1/60 scale versions and Bandai could make figures like their FIX or HCM's.
