It happened about a month ago, officially there not out of business but "re-organizing" but they did fire all their employees. It seems the president will still continue to make kits but they will be garage kits and even more expensive. I guess it's just the economy, these toys take a massive amount of engineering and the whole company was just basically a handful of guys so with the rescission and the high costs they couldn't sustain the business. These were very specialized toys and never meant for the general fan so it was bound to end sooner or later.

I'm getting it and it should be out the end of the month. I still prefer the classic tv show version of GX-18 to the OVA look but Getter Dragon is in my top five all time favorite SR's. Your probably talking about the Studio Halfeye Perfect Change Getter Robo. There amazing works of engineering but so expensive and fragile (they even give you a screwdriver to tighten the joints) and quite small. But since SHE is out of business it's a moot point. I might get the Metal FIX Unicorn since I do have the Metal FIX RX-78-2 with G-Fighter and I consider the Unicorn a landmark in Gundam design. My priorities are SOC's first and foremost and with a new Com-Battler and Daitarn coming out I have to pick and choose. If worse comes to worse I might just get a 1/100 model kit of it.

That Metal FIX Unicorn is sweet but with a price tag of 18,900YEN is a little steep.

Well I have every regular release SOC and love them all, obviously some more than others and I just can't wait for Daitarn to come out. But yeah if your a completest and need to get every SOC made it can not only drive you mad but put you in the poor house. The Maxfactory Mazinkaiser is a nice looking figure but a little delicate, I've busted the shoulder covers on mine and one of the elbows won't extend all the way. By contrast my Aoshima Mazinkaiser is built like a brick but doesn't have the accessories or IMHO is as nicely styled as the MF one (which is understandable since one represents the game version while the other one is the Anime version) and a little to large to be displayed with SOC's. Both have pros and cons.

Well I love my Big-O, sure it doesn't have the most diecast but it is large and I love the sculpt, amazing QC too. I also bought GX-46, GX-47, and GX-49 at the same time and I can sincerely say that GX-46 is one of THE most impressive figures ever made, it truly is a masterpiece. I don't know if it's a must buy at $300 but I bought one at Angolz for $200 and it is definitely worth it.

I like it, sure the price is ridiculous but it probably costs Toyota more to make it than it's selling. Would I pick it over a Ferrari or Lambo, probably not but people who can afford this probably have one of each and ten more cars sitting in their garage. As for styling I love it, for so long Japaneses car companies would be accused of just copying someone else's stying, which in fact hasn't been the case in years, so I'm glad that this car has a uniquely Japanese look to it, the same as the GT-R. Now all supercars from Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lotus etc. are starting to look alike with the differences of how they style their vents and their headlights. So bravo Toyota, if I had the money I'd buy one and for sure you know it'll be a hell of a lot more reliable than a Ferrari or Lambo.

Nothing special but I did find a use for my Danguard Ace stand that was just sitting around.

The new Mclaren looks nice if a tad derivative, kinda lack a mash up of the new Lotus Evora and a Gallardo but I guess all car companies are coming to the same conclusion when it comes to aerodynamics, air doesn't care what part of the world your from. That new Mercedes is a big disappointment, it has some nice design touches and the concept is cool but it seems like it's design lacks a cohesiveness. Mercedes and it's new fascination with it's retro/modern design aesthetic is hit and miss and sometimes feels a little forced. Performance wise I'm sure these cars will be incredible.

Hope they re-issue more of the Gestalts, especially the Protectobots since they were my favorite. It's just a shame these re-issues didn't have diecast in them like the first run of the originals.

Ah cool, thanks. So these are 1/144 pre-painted models for around $20 bucks. Cool, although I was kinda hoping they were re-colors of the MP Seekers but then I saw the price and figured no way but that optional lighted base is cool though. Well I guess you can move this to the model section or just delete it.

That's a pretty cool read, and considering Gunbuster is 20+ years old now and is a "cartoon" it's nice they actually did quite a bit of research.

I'm sure if you wanted to you could actually make something like these yourself if you have some modeling skills.

Sweet haul! You know when Takara re-issued Metroplex I thought for sure there would be a Metrotitan re-color even as a E-hobby exclusive since I know finding one MIB is pretty rare. Also I never knew the combined Star Saber was so big.

It looks like the one on the left is the custom job but on my MP Thundercracker the forearms are a really dark blue/black but the pelvic colors are silver not blue.

I have to respectfully disagree, to say something like the old Godaikin Com-Battler to a SOC Com-Battler isn't the same as a 1/55 to a 1/60 is wrong IMHO. I agree that some of the SOC's weren't a massive leap compared to the old originals like Iron Gear but most were light years ahead. I think Toynami did the best job they could for such a small company, I agree that the basic transformation is the same as the old Bandai one but it's also Anime accurate. I do think if say it was a SOC version Bandai would have designed the legs to be hidden by either folding them in or have optional covers. As for the Red and Green lions their basically limited by their purpose of being arms, I could see having optional smaller heads and actual necks but all these would have added to the price and complexity, which at the time a over 12" tall diecast figure that combines for a $140 bucks isn't bad. It's not perfect but it is way better than the old Godaikin one by leaps and bounds. I love my old Voltron but compared to the new one, there is no comparison.

Whats stopping someone that bought a set from re-casting it in resin? Are the details too small?

Even after 20+ years that Gakken is still a impressive toy, dead eyes and all lol. I had two and regret ever selling them but I do have a busted up figure and gun which I guess I never knew I had.

I like the way Ferrari's look today and I agree the California is probably the best looking one out today, big butt and all. But I can't think you can compare Ferrari's from 25 years ago to todays, those classics were lean looking and to me always looked like they were 9/10th's the size there were suppose to be. While todays are certainly "bulkier" they do have to have all the safety and crash worthiness built into them. But I agree at a certain point in Ferrari design history style took a bit of a backseat to aerodynamics and what necessarily is good for the wind isn't always good for the eyes, plus Ferrari has always had the racing and F1 connection and while racing does breed better performing cars it does not necessarily breeds better looking ones. The new F430 replacement is a perfect example, it's probably technically superior to the the F430 but I don't really think it's better looking. But what looks good is very subjective, the F-22 Raptor is a technically superior fighter jet to the F-14 but in my eyes the F-14 is way sexier.

Just some generic shots, but I am planning on some more dynamic poses to shoot for the Seekers one day.

Any idea when the Aoshima Beta's are coming out? Also just how much of a color difference is there if you get a Aoshima Alpha with a Toynami Beta (not willing to pay those ridiculous prices for a blue MP Alpha)? But I've also heard that Aoshima's Alphas are even worse than Toynami's if that's possible.
