  1. That definitely sounds like a good issue! I can't wait to see it. I'm really interested in that MAXL, since I've long-theorized exactly that and I plan on doing a profile line art for it, once I get my base VF-11 work done. How did they do the tails on it? Just on the wingtips or did it have four like the VF-0D?
  2. Thanks, Reivaj, I'm glad you like them. I've updated it quite a bit since then, but I want to finish the VF-25 before I post a new copy. I've since added the YF-24, VF-25, and YF-29 to the chart.
  3. Thanks for the translation, sketchley. It was quite an interesting read. The part that stood out to me the most was the resignation of the VF-9 to a supplementary role and the change of the VF-5000 from co-"main fighter" status with the VF-4 to a much lesser one. The comment about General Galaxy's designs being eccentric made me laugh.
  4. It, and the rest of the books in the series (VF-1 vol 1, VF-1 vol 2 "Space Wings", and VF-19) are great books. You won't be disappointed.
  5. On the two YF-21s, yes. They carried both their gunpods externally. The VF-22 moved them behind panels.
  6. I totally forgot to post this a couple weeks ago when I did it. Added a few details the YF-21/VF-22 were missing. Still haven't done the cockpit, but I'm sure I will sometime.
  7. Finally finished my VF-11 gunpod. I used the one in Macross Chronicles as a starting point since it had the best shape, incorporated some additional details from the line art and tweaked some shapes to match it closer, and added the bayonet completely. EDIT: And finished the GU-11 and GPU-9.
  8. I know, I was specifically referring to the VF-1XX and VF-9E that were mentioned earlier. It is a race, that's why I alluded to auto racing before the strict Formulas started adding some sanity to them. Fortunately they don't have to worry about carrying armaments in Vanquish either. That would open up a whole different kettle.
  9. Nah, you're good. It's sometimes hard to convey things in text. What I always found interesting about the Power Armor in Macross Plus was that it seems to combine the Male and Female Power Armors into one Hermaphroditic one, though closer to the N-Ger in overall appearance. As far as the Vanquish racers, sketchley is dead on. Think of them like 1960s pre-Formula race cars. Biggest engines in the smallest, lightest, simplest frames possible, no matter how dangerous. These airframes aren't designed to handle that kind of power at all.
  10. They did, the Queadluun-Rhea, designed to be more survivable. It seems to be replacing both the Q-Rau and the N-Ger in UN service too, since we see a Zentradi Marine Battalion using them.
  11. Only one of those is a VF-11, though. The second is a YF-27 prototype.
  12. Where does the VA-3M reference for Galaxy show up? I don't remember seeing that before.
  13. Yes, I know. It was a mistake on Kawamori's part when he drew the line art and left the speaker gunpod in.
  14. All of the GERWALK line art for VF-19s in Macross 7 (including the VF-19F and S) show them with speaker gunpods. Mr. March photoshopped in GU-15s for the line art on his website. He left the VF-19P with a speaker gunpod, since it didn't have a GU-15 in the animation.
  15. That's the YF-27-5. It's a prototype for the VF-27 Lucifer project.
  16. I've fiddled with it, but I haven't really managed to make anything with it yet.
  17. It's Imageshack, you probably just got one of their advertising pop-ups. The link is clean, I just double-checked it.
  18. Here's a close-up screencap I took back when were were trying to identify the VF-25A. It's a hangar shot from episode 7.
  19. Looks great, s.a! Here's a small update to my VF-9 I've been working off and on for a while. Still a /lot/ of work that needs to be done. The VF-1 seat is a stand-in for now. I'm going to tweak it, probably recline it some, in the final cockpit.
  20. I don't have my copy of the book out with me right now, so I can't answer the question about the mockup cover, but the XYF-19-1 is a VF-11 modified to test the YF-19's forward-swept wing and some of the avionics.
