  1. Army of Two is a great deal of fun. For me, a guy who hasn't played Gears of War, AoT was a change from the FPS' that I'm used to. I quickly found out that I had to use my partner or I wouldn't get anywhere except dead quickly. I also really enjoy the dialog and trash-talking that goes on between the two protagonists. Be warned that a lot of swearing is in this game, so keep it away while the kiddies are around (but the language does add to the charm of the game).
  2. Yeah, and I never even knew those were supposed to be there. Don't recall seeing them in the animation or in any artwork.
  3. I didn't even know that there were supposed to be missles in the shoulders of the Beta. Chest and behind the "head" yes, but the shoulder launchers are new to me...
  4. Take a look at the third picture on BBTS' page and you'll see what a real Alpha/Beta hook-up is supposed to look like!
  5. In previous pictures the back of the leg was hollow. So instead of telescoping like the MPC Alpha, this toy just folds up the legs when in fighter mode. That weirdly-shaped joint allows for such extreme folding.
  6. Convoluted is one thing, but I got off the MGS bandwagon with Liquid Snake's spirit still in his arm and being able to assume control over the body it's grafted to and that whole craptacular idea about 200 year-old spirits still living in the White House and really controlling everything. After all of that, I'm more than content with Splinter Cell.
  7. It's happened before, most openly with Halo 2 and the Star Wars prequels.
  8. This is an MGS game. The only reason it's so large and long are the hours of cut-scenes and animated sprites talking to each other. MGS 1 and 2 felt more like movies that I ocasionally got to dd something in.
  9. ALL of Clarke's sequel novels stretch the original premise enough. (yes, Rama, I'm talking to you!)
  10. No Commander Shepard = not a good game
  11. Lies. Nothing will ever save us from Mass Effect addiction. They'll have to open up recovery clinics beisde the methedone dispersal clinics. Future releases will come with a Surgeon General's warning. Razor companies will collapse due to the entire game-playing male population becoming so engrossed that nobody buys their products until they're endorsed in the game. And nothing can stop it. Nothing!
  12. Are you sure about that? There is more Mass Effect gameplay coming out next week...
  13. No, that's when your father cuffed you on the noggin' to get you to adjust the antennae. A perfect remote, or so I'm told
  14. MaxFactory did an awesome job with their Guyver line. These toys are no doubt going to be amazing.
  15. It'll be interesting to see how a new artist takes the RT mecha. Kevin Long did some of PBs best mechanical artwork.
  16. SoundForce from Macross 7 springs to mind...
  17. well, clearing my cache and deleting my cookies and temporary internet files has done nothing. Same with linking to http://mw instead of http://www.mw.
  18. What about the YF-1R or the "Funky Chinese"?
  19. The original puts some people to sleep
  20. I'm still waiting on the remake for Andromeda Strain.
  21. I wasn't aware this thread existed until a mod moved my post to it
  22. Duh. His name is Rand
  23. Which also neatly explains why all the officers in the OT had Coruscanti accents: the military became the new way of upper-crust families to maintain their political positions. Hence all of their children joined the military as that had become the new in-crowd to belong to. Agreed. Palpatine was everything a Sith Lord should be. Quiet, thoughful, vicious, intelligent, and above all else: patient. I like how his plans might not work out the way he expected them to, but he was able to roll with the punches and come up with a Plan B that was as good, if not better than his original idea. I love how he saw the state of the Republic (the growing dissatisfaction with the bloated beaurocracy, the resentment toward the Jedi, the Jedi and their ivory-tower ideals) and very neatly lined up all the dominos so that all he had to do was tip one over... And one of the coolest things ever is the dichotomy of the Sith Lords. They embrace the Dark Side, which abhores control, patience, calmness, or inaction. And yet for over a thousand years they had to practice in the shadows, skulking about while not doing anything overt. Each Sith Lord in succession had to content himself that he was doing his part for the future, when perhaps one of their number would strike back against their hated enemy. I really like that contrast in ideals. That's what I meant. By that time, the "official" offices had become so bloated and unwieldy that private groups started to take matters into their own hands (CorSec springs to mind, as does the armed Trade Federation) be it for security or justice or whatnot.
  24. Why does MacrossWorld keep logging me out? It used to be only once or twice a week, and now it's nearly every session. A few times I've had to re-log in during an active session, and once while I was posting a reply. I was logged in when I started the reply and logged out when I hit "add reply". This is most irritating as MW is the only site that does this to me.
  25. That'd be good. I guess I'm just spoiled by Cortana when it comes to mouthy AIs
