  1. KITT seemed to be missing the mouthy one-liners that the original had.
  2. I like how the prequels let us to see just how bad everything turned out. The bloated over-beaurocratic Republic that couldn't do anything without it being decided in a committee and signed off in triplicate, the ivory-tower Jedi who had become so far removed from the people they were protecting that resentment had built against them, the way private groups started to arm themselves to deal with pirates and brigands because the Republic wouldn't... I like how we're able to see the decline of the Old Republic and see how Palpatine was able to push it just that little bit more and take it all. Let's face it, Palpy just stole the show in RotS
  3. I think they came pre-moulded, but I decided to try a new painting technique anyway. And I do recall the tires as being rubber.
  4. I think it's just a re-issue of the IMAI kit. I had the VF-041 reissue kit and it was pretty good, though very fiddly. The only parts that came off to transform were the arm weapon module IIRC. I remember it being light and fragile, but that's probably just a by-product of a model kit being built by my clumsy, neanderthal hands.
  5. It all travels in cycles and reflects the era it was made in. The robotics/animation of the 80s (Knight Rider, Bionic Woman, Six Million Dollar Man, Superforce, etc.) reflected IMHO the Information Age during its infancy. Nanotech is the modern-day version of that, even if it is overwrought. Also, because its in its infancy, it's easier to take liberties with the technology without the audience giiving a collective eye-roll
  6. The only problem with that is political stuff is long, drawn-out, and potentially boring if handled incorrectly. Star Wars movies tell their stories with actions, not words. I'm a big fan of all that backstory and would like to see more of it... but not in a film that has so much else to tell.
  7. When were these pics taken/at what event? And off-topic, but this is what an Alpha/Beta hookup is supposed to look like
  8. Exactly. I don't think there are enough adjectives to properly explain how crappy this was. The car was pathetic, the filming was even worse, the story had enough plot holes to drive a Mac truck through...
  9. Hopefully in the new series. But we must have James Earl Jones if it happens. Anyone less would be uncivilized.
  10. I'll ask it again: where did we get the idea that there would be aliens in this film? I see nothing in that trailer which says "aliens" anywhere.
  11. People are also ignoring the flaws because it isn't a Toynami product. If it was, the hate and vitrol would be spewing about like no tomorrow, instead of the moderate discussions we see.
  12. Oh, you should've seen it in the early days. I had to scamper about from thread to thread lest the roving gangs of Lying Macross Purists' enforcment arm get a hold of me. Scuttling about, daring to post only when in total darkness and safe from the guards, my heathen words of compassion and understanding bouncing off the fanboy-strength armour plating of rage, decry, and destroy...
  13. That's 'cuz you've got "Robotech" in your name. That alone is enough to make people instantly hate you
  14. That's all I need to hear. The rest is mere details
  15. No, I mean where did the fans get the idea that aliens would be in this film?
  16. Where did this whole "aliens in Indy" angle come from?
  17. That doesn't look like Dennis Quaid. It looks like a Dennis Quade halloween mask. Too much botox, perhaps? And yes, I want to see Scarlett, Baroness, Cover Girl... and sooner instead of later
  18. This looks to be a great deal of fun
  19. If anyone does KOTOR III, then I hope they use Mass Effect's conversation system. I've fallen in love with that so much that whenever I wach YouTube clips of Knights I shake my head at the text-based conversations. Yuck!
  20. The live-action TV series had been postponed due to the WGA strike, but the bible had already been written and the major plot and arcs planned out. Apparenly Boba Fett will play a role in it, thugh he's the only "major" character from either trilogy who will make an appearance. Though I wouldn't count Vader out at all Also, the Clone Wars is pretty much the only time period that isn't already covered by comics, novels, the movies, or any upcoming TV series. Look at it this way, setting a show in the Clone Wars means there's less already-established book-canon that needs to be tossed out and re-written
  21. What is this Vee Ech Ess of which you speak?
  22. If you think this is bad, go to GateWorld.net and see all the hate and vitrol spewed about Stargate Atlantis. Then those post not only post more, but actually watch the damned show! That just boggles my mind.
  23. The problem is that Jackson's trilogy has set the tone for all other LotR film works. Since the two stories are set in the same universe, I'm not sure how well another director's vision will mesh with what's come before. Welcome to Hollywood accounting. This is why the sequel to Forrest Gump was never turned into a movie.
  24. Not quite. The nose/cockpit folds straight down and is covered by an armoured plate. The head unit rises out from the top of the fusulage and the missle rack pops up behind that.
  25. Of course! Well... maybe not but it sure is easier
