I am surprised no one picked up on this yet. In this pick you can see a slider... I mentioned before that as this is a prototype that it may be able to extend more and it either was not or cant due to weight?! You can see in the pic it is perhaps not fully extended. Again this is assuming that the slider in the pic is for the torso I could be completely wrong
It still needs to loose the thunder thighs, paul bunyan feet (huge), a longer torso and like Graham says longer and better landing gear.
Sithlord has a great idea also, make the planes that are not variable and or make anything other than the standard vf's that have already been made in one billion other ways... How many vf-1's do I need? Oh yeah I already have more than enough!
Minus on fighter mode.
Plus on destroids and enemy mechs. A gnu Macross would be cool also, with a zentradi cruiser. I will be buying all the 1/60 destroids so I would keep the gnu in mind.
Being that the gnu line is non scale I have not picked up any and have no plans to. I have gotten the Revoltech regult and vf-1j cause they are bitchin...
I think the problem of the 1/60 looking chunky is that the torso is much shorter than the 1/100. If you notice the tips of the intakes on the 1/60 damn near touch the chest and the position of the hands in comparison to the knee caps. Where on the 1/100 it has a larger gap there and the hands sit higher in comparison. Other than that IMO it seems to be proportioned about the same. Perhaps it is a transformation error, or again a case of it being a prototype and not being able for the extension mechanism to work under the weight of the resin?
This is a valk that has grown on me also since seeing it in action in Frontier and I will have to watch both scales.
Mock up:
There are lots of places.
bigbadtoystore.com
tisinc99.com (I have always had good service from them)
valkyrie-exchange.com
tmpanime.com
Also make sure you check the black list and straight shooters lists in the for sale and trade forum here on MW. Web stores as well as MW'ers and ebayers are listed.
As soon as I get mine I might be able to help. You might mention which version of sv-51. If its the Ivanov nothing would surprise me, not even spontaneous combustion with the horror stories I have read on that one.
Not weak! You are a valkaholic be proud and stand with your fellow MWers and proclaim "I deserve that new valk".
Just make sure you hide the delivery from your wife or gf, your on your own there pal....
I don't know if this has been mentioned but with the way licensing works in japan being based on scales, it is AFAIK possible that Yamato could do a 1/60 scale version of the vf-25?! Assuming that the bandai versions go gang buster.
STOP!
Put the valk back in the box, shove it in a corner in your closet and try to forget about it. Its your only hope now! It probly wont work, I had all of mine boxed up and it drove me crazy, literally
Congrats by the way, Yamato owns you!
Yup collecting since 1984, I guess I have a big collection, I dont have any duplicates like some do but I have 1 each of most.
Its not about who has the most or the biggest collection. Just get what makes you happy as you can afford it.
GASP!
Are you saying destroid jockies are anything less than the most qualified? Just cause they couldn't get a vf pilots license doesn't mean they are dorky.
Currently the version 1.0 1/60 yamato is the only one. As far as we know yamato is done with the 1/48 line. They have a new version 2.0 1/60 line coming out. Your best bet is they make one in this new line but nothing has been announced. Also there is a ever so slight chance to get one in 1/55 from bandai with their new releases coming up. One can dream...
Another effort to rescue this thread.
Since there is talk of missiles coming with them it would be nice for them to retool the wings with hard points for the missiles to attach to. Instead of the the funky clip on style. How cool would that be?
