  1. Patience... But if you need something to tide you over while you're waiting, my VF-4 recasts are now available once again I finished re-molding pretty much the whole kit yesterday. And just for all you VF-11 lovers, my current recast project is also a VF-11. It's just not a 1/72. But I think a lot of you will like it anyway
  2. Kinda cool to see it's not just a WonderFest kit... But still, it's far from a great likeness of her :/ I'll pass on that one, but I'll definitely buy one of cwmodels', if he makes a kit of his! < edit > And it looks like the G-Taste-esque proportions aren't exactly a coincidence... Check out some of Kurushima's other kits and see if you can spot the trend... http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljpage.cgi?KRS455 http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljpage.cgi?KRS459 http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljpage.cgi?KRS458 It seems one of thier sculptors, 'Over Dard', is responsible for all those ridiculously proportioned kits. And guess who sculpted thier Sara kit...
  3. Interesting... But those PDFs hardly seem like full translations. They look more like summaries to me. Looking at the stories in Perfect Memory, there's a LOT of japanese text in those stories. And the translations are quite sparse in comparison. But in any case, the gist was there. I was pretty disapointed with Plundering Fleet. I too expected it to be the Mars Base story. Some of the events were kinda interesting, but as a story, it was pretty boring.
  4. Ah yes, the commercials for Little Lady Club (a series of dolls), and Ichi Nitto San (a knitting machine... and an AWFUL pun). That's one thing about Gunbuster I always thought was odd. Commercials of any kind in the middle of an OVA, as far as I know, were never done before or after Gunbuster. Eyecatches, sure. Commercials? No. But in the end, I just chalked it up as yet another case of Gainax being weird BTW, on my LDs, only volume 1 has these commercials. And they were taken out for the laserdisc boxed set. Are there any releases that had more of them (either on the bootlegs or the R2 DVDs)?
  5. Cool! I'll definitely be picking up one of them.
  6. I've thought about recasting a set of 1/72 Valkyrie pilots, actually... I've got at least 5 different ones I could include in the set. And more if I include pilots from the YF-19 and 21 Would you guys be interested in something like that?
  7. A VF-XS kit? I'll believe that when I see it http://nanashi.macrossmecha.info/resrc/cat.../vari/vfxs.html
  8. Glad to hear that! And it definitely showed in the finished product. I think we all remember the god-awful AJ subs, done by people who obviously had NO idea what Macross is
  9. 10 kits, eh? I doubt that would be much of a problem here
  10. Couldja post the chinese BT links? I'll take it in any form I can get it at the moment
  11. As far as I can tell, it will come with book 9 of the manga as a limited edition set. Due out in april at a price of Y1700.
  12. Awesome! You MUST make a resin kit of that!!
  13. Hasegawa didn't do it to make things easier. It's a clear modification of the VF-1 design. It's still not 100% clear who ordered these changes or why. But the common theory is that it's a case of Kawamori playing the old game of revisionist's history and 'improving' his old design. The same can be said about the three doors of the rear landing gear bays. Until the Hasegawa kit, they only had two.
  14. It's not in Design Works because none of the Macross II mecha were designed by Kawamori. But some of the designs are pretty damn cool anyway
  15. I actually spent a day or so working on mine after I wrote that last post, LOL It's one of those kits I've been working on little by little for years now... and it shows. I can see all the mistakes I used to make in it. I used a ton of Squadron putty < shudder > and over sanded it, eliminating a lot of the original panel lines. And to combat the cracking of the Squadron putty, I had filled the whole upper fuselage with resin to make it solid. And much to my surprise today, it worked rather well So the other day I gouged out all the Squadron putty I had used, and replaced it with MoriMori. And I started re-scribing all the panel lines. It's tedious work, but it's working well. I'm using Dymo label maker tape as sort of a flexible, adhesive-backed ruler. And aside from the occasional slip-up, it's working really well. I'm now awaiting a scribe and template set from HLJ that I'll use to etch the square and circle markings and such. And by the way, this has gotta be the BEST tool for etching panel lines ever! http://www.hlj.com/cgi-perl/hljpage.cgi?HSGTT-10
  16. The Scrambled Valkyrie CG animation (but not the advertisement it came from) can be found on the laserdisc of Macross 7 volume one. It's on the bonus disc, along with the Macross 7 TV special.
  17. I've got that kit too. It's quite nice And you're mostly right in that it would be easy to recast. The only hard part would be the chest piece. It's a very complex shape that would be hard to mold effectively.
  18. LOL, yea. I've got one of them. It actually wouldn't be too bad of a kit if the casting job didn't suck so much. It's got tons of air bubbles.
  19. Arii made the only kits of the Zentradi ships. There were 1/72 plastic kits of the Glaug and Regult, but both are pretty rare. There was a 1/72 Q-Rau garage kit by Club-M (also quite rare), but the only N-Ger kits were 1/144.

    Rosario Update???

< sigh >... It always pains me to read these threads... Rosario was indeed a respectable member of MW. Very much so, in fact. And he continued to be right up until the end, when he hit upon some very hard times. And due to a case of very bad timing, this happened at a time when he had several outstanding orders. The Rosario I knew was one of the most honorable people I've ever met. I'm positive that he made every effort to fill those orders. And I'm also sure that he lost quite a bit of sleep himself when he was unable to. I don't know the details of his situation, but I do know that he was unemployed, living on his own, and supporting a wife and daughter. And that was before he was in a nasty car crash that put him and his wife in the hospital. That was probably about a year ago. I'd really like to know how he's doing today. We were the best of friends, and even I haven't heard from him since that last post of his. Where ever he is, I just hope he's alright... I offered once before to fill Rosario's oustanding orders myself, and that offer still stands. But at this point, I'm fairly certain everyone would rather have their money back... And I can't do much to help on that end
  21. Using a slide card wouldn't damage the motor. It would damage the gearbox of the tray eject mechanism. Forcefully ejecting the try would put undue stress on that assembly of gears, which it was not designed to withstand.
  22. I've got a 1/72 XB-70 Valkyrie I want to build one of these days, and it has raised panel lines too. My plan for them is to scribe in new panel lines alongside the existed raised lines. Then wen I'm done, I'll shave off the original lines with a modeling chisel. It should work... in theory, anyway...
  23. I finally managed to get at the message board. It's pretty small, only 226 posts to date. And I haven't been able to find out anything about the missing Valkyries There's a few posts that mention the YF-19, but the other three aren't mentioned at all (it has a search engine, thank god). If anyone wants to investigate further (and hopefully knows more japanese than myself), PM me and I'll get you my login. It'll save you a whole lot of effort )
  24. I can see why you'd think it would be cool to have it with english dialog... But good god are you ever wrong
  25. If that's true, then there's going to be a long wait for volume 2... They haven't even announced a release date for the R2 DVD of episode 4 yet...
