Last weekend I was re-watching M+ movie and seeing how crazy and emotionally unstable Guld was, I wondered how he managed to pass through all the testing a pilot (even more a test pilot) is subjected to. What is bothering me even more is that he was chosen as a test pilot of a MENTAL CONTROLLED FIGHTER!!! Maybe all the psichiatrists and all the knowledge on psichiatry were destroyed in space war I??? Easy answer: anime magic

Valkyrie, thanks for posting. I'm still waiting for my VF-0. The magnets idea is really good. Have you finally applied them in the launch arm?

Very nice display. Let me nitpick a little: those VFs are UAVs? They have no pilot!! (Or you managed to put a pilot in???) Another good idea to display them is to put them on one of those DML Blast Off cat-launch dioramas. They are in 1/144 and come with deck crew and trucks (and also a tomcat, a F-18 or a A-6...) Here is a nice review: 1/144 F-18 Blast Off kit

And for your signature!! Interesting...

Can someone point me to a camouflage website

mighty gorgon: those Berlin brigade schemes are perfect for a Madcat. And it should be easily done with some masking tape (juast straight lines) -
Yes, but Hasegawa likes to take our money for variants of the same model... (I was really confused when they did the VF-1 batt with multiple options...)

Exactly!!! I hate those guys... I can't help but hoping from one episode to the other that the Jam kills them in a glorious explosion... and better characters replace them. Concerning the simmilarities with Top Gun, as you said: a bunch of homosexual rockers...

Note: that is a MINI Tamiya paint bottle... The regults are really nice. The idea of decals is good. Maybe we can ask Anasazi to make some.

What to say... yours is the most complete and nice Macross model colection I've seen so far!! The YF-21 with the grey panneling is beautiful, that's how i wan to pain mine. thanks for sharing

5th simphony? Don't know about that...

Amigos, Hey Temucano!! How are you? I have a copy of DYRL with the spanish dub called Macross: La ciudad Robot (horrible name!!). Not bad but the Locomotion version is better. Maybe because I'm used to the so called neutral spanish dubbing. The movie distributors in Spain tend to dub movies with strong spanish accent (even using local expressions) Since the time of the first Disney movies the dubbing for latinoamerican countries is done in a neutral accent and good dubbers avoid using local (i.e. mexican, venezuelan, argentinian, etc.) terms. This is a good thing because you can sell the movie in whole continent without language barriers.

I thought the same: the book is out!!... well, coming from a Jester I consider it a joke

Nice!! I also would like to make an screeming Minmei in the back seat since I saw that model in a Japanese mag. So far no luck in finding a way to do it (I suck at sculpting)

Stealth Escort Attack Aircraft Carrier
Gerwalker replied to Aurel Tristen's topic in Movies and TV Series
Thanks for all the material you are posting!! Where do these carriers appears? -
I can see all those problems with scratchbuilding the launch booster. I was toying with the idea of making it smaller to fit one 1/100 gerwalk ARII. Why the gerwalks? Because I have a lot of those suckers and their legs can be bended. Seriously the Arii fighters and gerwalks (except for the arms and legs) are nice for the scale. 1/100 scale is fine for scratchbilding meaning less work and material (lighter) The launching truck is another story. Monkey N.: Maybe part of your booster could be vacuformed to make it lighter. I still think is a good idea.

Then you've never seen Macross 0....Gerwalk walking can be seen in more than one scene. Yours, GERWALKER

I remember an article in Fine Scale Modeler about the building of this monster. Very nice indeed. Thanks for posting those pics.

Thanks for the advice. If they only put the VE-1 on sale....Seems like I will keep the money for other sale offerings...

Is it the VT-1 worth buying? I don't remeber a review about it. Thanks

Before anybody gets too pissed off... I just got a shipping notice from HLJ. I was one of the ones initially disappointed by the "backordered" and "Feb Restock" messages on the inventory list - but it appears that the messages did not indicate that current preorders would be delayed, but only that any new orders would have to wait. My order is in the shipping process. That means nothing really. My Mission 3 figures were in that status for a couple of weeks... Maybe the february restock was a mistake, but it pissed me off. Maybe I'm too sensitive... Sorry Scott!!!!!
-
Captain, I remember your landing vessel!! Awsome. As I said before these ships are so organic in shape that are ideal for scratchbuilding with epoxy clay or the like. Your model is an excellent example of that!!!
-
I wont cancel my order (too lazy and used to HLJ since 1997) but I've just send them an email expressing how pissed I'm. I preordered this months ago and the only thing they can say is "February restock". OK: February is around the corner but I'm still angry...all this means I won't receive my VF-0 until march (you know the HLJ orders processing, shipping and so) Well, I'm not going to build this one anytime soon but I really love to have my models and just see how well or bad are design... and it's friday afternoon here and I'm tired and want to complain
-
Well, not big loss. Hey today is 29 and nothing from HLJ yet!!! Hobby search has it?

Getting what we want... a GOOD quality resin kit
Gerwalker replied to Less than Super Ostrich's topic in Model kits
Kanata, I'm still laughing just thinking about GIR's brain controlling the SDF and eating the flying cucumbers!! BTW: I would love to scratch build the Massive or Zim's ship (seems to be quite simple) but I can't find any decent pics of them (I've found the original character's models that are terrific but no ships neither mechs) Concerning the copyright issues: it's that simple? I saw all the kits they have with nick names and some of them are never depicted completed (like the Galactica's Viper) . Maybe just selling the kit parts is a good way to avoid that...But I think that no mentioning the Macross or RT names won't stop the vultures from HG.
