  1. Don't quote me on this... from what I can recall (here on the forums) I don't think there were any real cases which a group of people were affected with the YF-21. If not then you would definitely see people raising questions like... did Yamato fix broken wing flap hip joint elbow bend head tail thing, yet? LOL...
  2. Sorry to burst your bubble logos... Taken from HLJ's site: How final shipping costs are calculated: The total weight of all items in your order is added to the weight of the box and packing material required for shipment (see below). Then we simply cross-reference the Japanese post office shipping charts and bill you accordingly for the weight and type of shipping you've requested. Again, some requests for SAL shipping may be shipped by EMS instead if the item is too large to go by SAL small packet, or if there are many items in the order and/or the order is particularly valuable (above 15,000 yen). http://hlj.com/hlj_shipping.html Even if you selected SAL they'll change it over and charge you for EMS when the item comes in. And the confirmation for the VF-22 doesn't apply/effect everyone, but just your order. I received my order confirmation two weeks (or so) ago when I placed it. I've ordered plenty of times from hlj in the past and this is their normal procedure.
  3. Argghh!!! Pic links died! However, I can imagine the speedy progress. Keep it up!
  4. Thanks! Still snug as a rug. LOL. The mod doesn't affect the part falling off at all. Aside the part being a pretty good fit from the beginning prior to the mod.
  5. If it's really limited... your best chances might be on ebay or some overpriced online shop. Honestly it would probably be the same exact thing as the YF-21, but just remolded/painted in a different color and the retooled respective parts (head, canopy, and bay attachments).
  6. I think the issue with the bent/warped wings are not because of the manufacturing line, but from packing it incorrectly in the Styrofoam tray (with the way the plastic bag is wrapped around the plane). Upon opening... I noticed that all of my VF-25's had the plastic bag section between the tip of the wings and the feet of the plane lifted up by the Styrofoam tab on tail section the tray. This would definitely cause a warp in the wings because the rest of the plane is heavy enough or is forced down by the workers further into the tray while the wings stay afloat. ***EDIT*** The wings are straighter on my re-issue VF-25F compared to my VF-25G.
  7. Yea... Overdrive's prices are a bit disappointing. I would've cancelled my pre-orders from HLJ since I've have a couple of bad shipping experiences with them (they tend to pack poorly on large shipments) and ordered with Overdrive.
  8. The VF-25G comes with a gunpod aside from the sniper rifle. Don't know if that would fill the need of having a non-sniper version. XD
  9. Fast Pack Knee mod: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=29989
  10. Among sucking up the many frustrations of Bandai not making this a better figure than what they could've actually done... I couldn't bare the idea of not being able to bend the knees on the VF-25G with the fast/super packs attached anymore and decided to mod them. I took off 1 cm from the base and about 0.8 (maybe a little more) from the top. I sawed/cut to the extent of the bend. I wanted to cut further to get the full bend, but considered the aesthetics of the modification. I would say this mod returns about a good 95% of full knee flexibility. I apologize for the blurry pics. I'm such a camera noob. ***EDIT*** Comments/Crits are welcomed. Thanks.
  11. I was on hlj trying to see if they updated any info about the VF-22 Gamlin (no update) and saw that the YF-21 is now on sale at 10,900 yen!
  12. I was bored (didn't have enough time to actually work on the VF-22 conversion project) and decided to take the VF-25G under a black light (UV light) and noticed the color differences were a bit more apparent (lol). ***Just a thought*** I think Bandai used the brightly/more vibrant color parts for areas where the plastic would endure more mechanical/physical stress. Where as the darker/duller colored parts are areas where the plastic would not. Conclusion: brighter/more vibrant colored parts = higher grade plastic... XD ***EDIT*** It would've been cool if Bandai just made the whole VF-25 of the same plastic quality. Would be a great sight under a black light.
  13. Thanks... me and my SSL-9B Dragunov Sniper Rifle like to go shooting Vajra on the weekends. LOL. ***EDIT*** Jking...
  14. The color scheme or the color scheme along with the different fastpacks? Because the fighter image shows different FPs. If Yamato does decide to do this paint scheme they might not retool the fastpacks.
  15. Looks like yellow tape/adhesive of some sort... ***EDIT*** Yes I agree, that's how Bandai should have done it. Unfortunately they probably thought ahead and said too many people would notice the easy scratch-able paint; scrapped the idea saving themselves the money and complaints.
  16. Since people requested pics of the clip mod (soft crotch syndrome remedy)... Michael can now stand proud! I apologize for the blurry pic, it was the best I could get with my lame camera skills. To elaborate what you're seeing... the two white 0.01" inch 3x5mm sheets are between the housing and the actual clip. The clip was removed then the two sheets were super glued to the clip and wedge back into the housing. Credit goes to Dio for providing this mod! Uhh... second pic is of me holding him by his uhh... midsection connecter (crotch), suspended nearly horizontal only by my hand.
  17. Sorry to kill your hopes on the VF-25g, but yes the tampo rubs off or scratches very easily. Can't confirm on the reissued Alto since AE hasn't sent me a shipping notice yet. Funny... I preordered and paid about a week before their preorder cut-off deadline. Somehow others were able to get theirs sent before they (AE) went on vacation. Plus, their reissue Alto stock is currently out/backordered... figured they would've sent an out of stock, or "sorry we couldn't fill all orders which includes yours" kind of a notice. ***EDIT*** AE order status: Standing
  18. Follow up to the soft groin syndrome... I was too lazy to make a hook and went with Dio's idea. I used two 0.01" 3x5mm styrene sheets along with crazy glue on both sides of the outer walls of the gray connector and the fit is tighter than new. It's like viagra for the VF-25G! I can hold it horizontally by the groin now and it doesn't come apart at all (even with some shaking, lol).
  19. Thanks for the info Dio! Yea I got some styrene sheets laying around. I'll probably result to that if my hook idea doesn't work out too well. ***EDIT*** Bleh, I was too lazy to make a hook and went with your idea Dio. I used two 0.01" 3x5mm styrene sheets along with crazy glue on both sides of the outer walls of the gray connector and the fit is tighter than new. It's like viagra for the VF-25G!
  20. Yea, I've thought about that. Like adding a small thin layer of some kind of epoxy, but I was also thinking of something a bit more permanent. Like adding a hook. LOL... it won't be soft groin anymore, but soft hooklike groin!
  21. LOL, soft groin. I'll probably take it apart in another week after my finals are over to see if there's some alternative to fixing it.
  22. I got my VF-25G in last week and had it sitting on the side (due to my finals) in battroid mode. I've only transformed it from fighter to battroid twice (fighter, batt, fighter, batt not consecutively). Today after I had put the fast pack on and let it stand for a few seconds to admire it the thing just collapsed in half. It seems like the groin/crotch connector can't bare the extra weight. This is really a poor technical decision on Bandai's part. I think if they added some sort of hook along with the current connector it could've definitely made the battroid mode more stable. With the crappy tampo application (which rubs off pretty easily) I would have to say the groin/crotch connection problem takes the cake. ***EDIT*** I know for a fact that if/when I use the stand in battroid mode it would be fine, but that shouldn't be the solution.
  23. Not really so much of a bisecting line, but the upper half and lower half do meet at a point/line. You can see this from the reflection of the light if you zoom in really close. Also I don't recall the visor being so pulled/sunken into the face. Probably for transformation reasons if anything... I suppose.
  24. I realized something... the gunpod is molded/painted in Max's VF-22S color. XD ***EDIT*** Also I'm agreeing with some on this thread. I'm not really feeling the head for some reason. It's like the visor is too thick (?) from top to bottom. Somehow I feel it should be thinner. Everything else looks really nice.
