  1. Source of those pics: http://www.toysdaily.com/discuz/thread-88298-1-1.html That guy in HK says he is surprised by how light it is. He also found the material feel rather brittle (although he didn't break anything), and is afraid to transform it. May be the material is like those in this Megahouse Orguss, they don't feel as strong as ABS or as flexable as polystyrene in model, but I haven't break mine yet.
  2. It is not Mazinger rocket punch, the ARMD stay attached. Another ARMD attack, starting at 1:25
  3. It punch! Start at 8:40 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkPpSfYzUXk
  4. Bandai is a real pain in the ass. According to this HK toy blog: http://hk.myblog.yahoo.com/iam-cybergundam/article?mid=21070 The DX VF-25G will come with a coupon, with that you can order the speaker+fold booster+ranker pack at a discounted 4200 yen. Without the coupon, the web store price is 5250 yen. Same deal with the RVF-25 and the ghost+missile pack.
  5. My guess on DYRL over TV: 1) Slightly cheaper mold - one mold for both ARMD v.s. two molds for the TV ships. 2) Polls shows the DYRL version is more popular. 3) Less cartoonly, more modern metalic color - more attractive to regular sci-fi fans.
  6. And the samples are out! http://www.toysdaily.com/discuz/thread-88177-1-1.html
  7. Those are garage kits.
  8. 50000 yen is the rumored target price, supposedly came from Yamato people at the display. And some people would say - it's only one car payment, what a bargain!
  9. Why bring up 20 years old toys that target kids? They are not comparable to these "completed model" targeting adult collectors. If I go to the other extreme end we can compare with these fine examples from Bandai: http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN954816 http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN955024 And that would be silly too. Yamato has a long enough history for us to guess how they will market this thing. The biggest problem I hear from their customers in HK about this SDF-1 is not price, but they don't have room for it and expected reaction from their wife.
  10. http://hk.myblog.yahoo.com/iam-cybergundam/article?mid=20968 Yamato will show the SDF-1 again in "Hobby Complex GK 01" at Match 1st. I hope they will show it in attack mode.
  11. A 'few' inches make the big difference. With the main cannon, this thing will be twice as tall as 1/48 Battroid VF-1 with fast pack.
  12. That is rather uninformed. Saving (up to 250k) in a regular bank account is insured by FDIC, i.e. US government. If that fail, which means the US government fail, your cold hard cash will be as useful as Zimbabwe dollar. If you are seriously worried, that shoe box should have cold hard gold and ammo.
  13. 1000 unit magazine limited re-color. No idea which magazine but this pic came from Hobby Japan. source
  14. To everyone who want the Sheryl decal, click and act now! http://www.hlj.com/hljlist2/?SaleGroup=MAC...Decal%20Present
  15. Not exactly good news - those dolls are direct order only. But at least Yamato don't price their stuff like Studio Half-Eye.
  16. One idea I read from HK is transparent windows that let you see the city from the outside. As you see from the movie screen shot there are two large window on the 'legs', and we can see two rather big holes on the prototype of this toy at the same place. It will need internal lighting for that to work.
  17. "and NEXT" = full armour. original post
  18. Some guy from HK noticed the tiny dots that may be 1:2000 VF-1 and Destroids. Will it come with a stand for both mode? It will need to have serious strength for the weight.
  19. Probably this one: http://ngeekhiong.blogspot.com/2009/01/she...-for-5-172.html That is cool extra service or just luck if HLJ throw that in for the SMS stands.
  20. If they make TV version it will take another year - for customer to absorb the cost, and if line art accurate it cannot be a simple re-color.
  21. Thanks! And they are going to make EX-Gear! Now that is a surprise.
  22. Who can tell what kind of shape the exchange rate or our personal finance is when this thing release? I predict 24k to 36k yen. It has way more plastic than the 1/60 YF-21 even if it is mostly hollow. It can transform, right? And before we panic about price, how much did the Takatoku 1/3000 SDF-1 originally cost?
  23. VF-1D is out: http://www.toysdaily.com/discuz/thread-87804-1-1.html
