Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.3
CF18 replied to Graham's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Questions to new owners: How tight are the joints? Is gerwalk mode stable? From the instructions, it looks like both legs will fall down if you lift the plane unless the hip and body joints are really strong. The head guns on VF-25S appears to be soft plastic. Is it the same on VF-25F? -

Official Bandai 1/72 Scale Macross Frontier Model Kit Thread Ver.2

The mag scan already list the super pack at yen 2100, but no one can tell how much US$ that will equal to in February 2009... -
It appears HLJ did send me an old version of Ivanov, with smoke canopy.

Mine arrived today! Freaking custom caught mine and added C$31 sale tax - aren't they suppose to be too busy this week? Wings are OK. The middle wing hinges are tight and the lock for that hinge works. The wing-body hinges can be tighter, but they are tight enough and holds the gerwalk pose with 2 rocket pods. The rocket pods are easy to pop off by a light touch at the right place, but they stay on even when I give the whole fighter a good shake. But some parts are too tight. It was difficult to pull the right foot out, while the left foot is fine. It took me like 10 minutes to finish the gerwalk step 14 to lift the right shoulder cover by 1mm, but it was easy on the right shoulder. Battoroid mode transformation is easier. The right leg ball joint is very lose, but it can still stand on surface thanks to the large foot. Unlike the right wing, the left wing cannot fold all the way in. I guess it is an average Yamato - looks great but buggy.

Thanks! Sounds like February would be the best time to order a full set of fighter + fast pack + stand from Japan. In my last order from hwjapan, the MG Zaku 2.0 comes in a thicker box and includes some promo item like the one base piece of action base in trans-green. -

No need to repaint - that fast pack was on Alto at ep 14, totally canonical. -

Non of us really know about the cost for making each toy. The best we know is the mold is the major cost - the more unit they can sell the lower actual cost of each unit. What I am actually wondering about is if Yamato will survive the economy down turn. Most of their products are expensive, and most are not mainstream and depends on lingering popularity of old anime. The big GNU lines old school robots don't seems to draw a lot of attention, unlike Bandai SOC. A bunch of their 1:12 Votom are still availble for 65% off at hobbysearch, after staying in the sale section for many months. I expect the the upcoming 1:24 Patlabor to end up in the same bargain bin - there are already tons of good Patlabor stuff from many companies, and they are much cheaprer. Everyone is selling Garlands at deep discount thanks to well known quality issues. But who knows, may be their owner had been investing in gold and is now sitting on tons of cash.

Most likely because they can recycle the whole PG Strike internal frame.

Wow separate & detachable fast pack - that is unexpectedly customer friendly from Bandai. I really expected different models with fixed past packs. -
One of the clip of action base 1 match the metal bar of 1:60v2 VF-1 , but the bigger J and S head will get in the way. http://www.toysdaily.com/discuz/thread-74293-1-1.html You can always modify the action base to match the Yamato stand adapters, but I think the action base is too light and small to safely hold the big one like 1:48.
-
Interesting. I was expecting M&M VF-1Js first. Other new stuff they will be showing at 21st at this "Hobby Complex": 1:60 VF-11B, GNU VF-1S
-
Only HLJ knows how long they keep it on sale. The Ivanov version have a re-issue this month, so the new batch may have been improved like the other SV-51. HLJ already shipped my order so I hope I will get an improved version...
-
I still can't find it.

Fast Pack versions of VF-11B, YF-19, YF-21: http://ga.sbcr.jp/mgangu/011848/ 2009 May. Full set 4500 yen each. 2000 yen each for fast pack add-on set.

Remember that Roy 1:48 that was only sold in a Hobby Show? It is getting a "limited" reissue... http://www.yamato-toys.com/dev/release_013...nk=index_pickup

I actually had a YF-19 full set in check-in baggage last year, all the way from Hong Kong to Canada. I stuffed the space in the box with socks. The box then go in a full size luggage surrounded by other new cloths. If your box sit securely and surrounded by soft stuff it will be fine. Do the math tho - if you need to pay for extra check-in luggage than mail may be cheaper. I also had a SOC Dancougar in a large shopping bag. Check your airline for the carry-on size limit.

Yeah it must be.

We would link the YF-19 to X-29, but according to wiki F-104 was also a radical design with the first production trapezoidal wing. Now F-22 and F-35 also use trapezoidal wing. The F-111 part appears to refer to the shape changing wing of YF-21, because F-111 was the first production plane with variable-sweep wing. F-16 Sufa v.s. VF-0: probably refer to all those bulges on the body: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:F-16Isufa001.jpg So... back on topic, anyone who can read Japanese see anything new about the DX toy on page 30-32? -

I go to that forum often for general toy news. The one on page 22 should be the DX 1:60 - legs sit lower than the shield and we can see the gap between head and back plate. -

http://www.toy-world.com.hk/maga/fk/03_2008/022.html or http://www.toy-world.com.hk/maga/fk/03_2008/ File 022 - 050 are the Macross stuff. -
In Japan you can buy a set of 100 items for 80,000 yen: http://www.noda-ya.com/html/syohin/other/02801043.htm Obviously they are intended for toy stores. Shops in Hong Kong will usually break out the set, and sell the top prize for the right price. But that is rather difficult for online stores because individual item probably have no bar code.
