Even though cloning is accepted as part of the cannon, I don't really like the idea of it. I like to think the huge population growth is the result of people having over 10 babies or more as part of a population drive encouraging people to go at it like rabbits. Also some macross fleets and colonies aren't all human as some are only zentradi. So i'm guessing the Zentradi population is far greater than the humans and make up the majority of UN spacy fleets and colonies.

Just like starwars fans who dislike lucas, i dislike Kawamori for the direction in which the new macross series have taken in giving music mystical properties etc.... like in mac 7, zero...... And just like star wars fans who don't like the new prequels, i don't like the new macross series all that much compared to the first, but then i don't like the animation mistakes/quality in the first show......... But like star trek fans who like Gene's work, its the same for me for Gundam, in which I like tomino's work............. -
Well the whole point to star trek originally was to show how humanity has advanced and become more peaceful as a race. Where racism, religious hatred and conflict has been eradicated. If humanity went to space just fight then they have learned nothing in all those centuries of advancement. Thats why Star Fleet is mostly peace keeper or defensive most of the time.

Yeah, i agree the newtype theory is a bit dodgy, but the whole concept of a down right dirty war is more believable, and macross did have its moments of war, but the love and song is just too far fetched, at least for me anyway. The newtype thing isn't really all that original either, it sort of copies the the force in starwars. Love and song in macross is totally original, i wouldn't want to take that away from it, unless its really annoying music. If it weren't for the music, macross would just be another mecha show with nothing to distinguish itself from the hundreds of other mecha shows.

I wouldn't say it was raping child hoods since they actually made this as a sequel and prequel to the old star treks If they rebooted it without a connection to the original, and if it was a crap reboot then i would say my child hood was raped Overall I liked the movie, some of characters i didn't like in it like chekov, I thoght he was way worst than the original. Great Simon Pegg managed to portray a good scots accent

Even though the singing concept in macross is hard to believe, I still love the show and franchise ever since i was a kid, it's just that i came across gundam first. Both shows are great in there own way and have believable characters which is the best part in both shows. But soundtrack wise, Macross is the best, if not the J-pop, then the musical scores are brilliant, DRYL being my favourite. I've not heard any musical score in frontier that makes me stand up and listen. The J-pop is what i like in frontier

At times, i thought the movie felt more like starwars or american high school drama and not like star trek at all. As for making the new movie, i felt it unnecessary to include a time travel plot or have old characters. I believe they still could have made a great movie with a new crew, just like what they have done before with the TV shows, new crew, new ship etc.......And even in those shows you didn't really have to have known anything about previous Star Treks just to watch it. Core fans would watch anything star trek, and casual movie goers would watch it but that does not mean its attracting new fans. Whether it be a Reboot or new Story/crew, it still would not change peoples minds who have already have a stereotypical view of a show they have avoided before. I have a friend who has never seen a star trek in his life, and refuses to watch it even this new movie, which i have told him it has nothing to do with the old stuff. Its the image of the geek who lives with his parents that is still associated with star trek or sci fi in general that needs to be broken.

I still don't understand why they would even remake MGS4, considering it only came out a year ago. I can understand if they remade older games to update the graphics and gameplay. Unless they're going to release a MGS4 special edition like MGS2 substance and MGS3 subsistance.

I thought the J pop songs in Frontier were great, epecailly "what bout my star" ranka version and Diamond Crevasse. A big improvement from Macross 7 and also some of Minmay's songs imo.

I know the singing was a shock tactic and all, but a warrior race reduced to nothing because of love and song, its ammusing and cringe worthy at times Even Exedol singing "my boyfriend is a pilot" is enough to make anyone look away

Well, i've always said in these forums i'm a gundam fan first and macross comes second Macross had better mecha designs and soundtrack, while gundam has the better story. I just can't get my head round the idea of singing to my enemies.

I believe each macross colony or ship are like independent nations under a unified flag, so being independent they are able to have their own skull squadrons and special forces. Just like Britain has the SAS and so does Australia and probably other countries in the common wealth or out side of it. End of the day its just a name and it can be applied to what ever they want.

One of the things that make macross stand out more than any other mecha anime is the sountrack. The story maybe crap (imo) but you can always enjoy the music. From first macross to frontier, music has always been one of the major selling points of the franchise, along with the singing idols, but the story is really not all that great.

I wonder where the time cops were to prevent the movie? Every time a time travel episode came on in voyager or enterprise it really pissed me off, it really showed that they were running out of ideas. When enterprise came on, i thought it started off well being a prequel showing humans starting off space exploration and making first contacts, but then they ruin it with a time cop guy, a temporal war and aliens following future leaders.

If they wanted to reboot star trek why not just "REBOOT" it, instead of going back in time altering the time line and all that jazz. Theres been other movies and shows that have been rebooted without the need for a link to the original. I'm really growing tired of all these time travelling story lines that have been going on non-stop through out star trek and other sci fi shows, can't they just do with out it.

Could it be two games instead? One based on Raiden and another on Big Boss. The big boss image really reminds me of the old metal gear games where he was the villian. So i'm still hoping it'll be a remake of the old games. It would be good to be Solid Snake agian, instead of "old" or "naked" snake. Perhaps we get to fight big boss in this new game/s.

I kind of liked the first movie, the second was really crap and i've not seen the third one. The ships were pretty cool i thought and so were the other space crafts from the movie. Oh and it had Denise Richards in it

I hope its the old msx metal gear games getting a remake, that would be nice, but if its a sequel to mgs 4, not sure how they would continue the story since mgs 4 pretty much ended the mgs saga. If its a prequel, then maybe a story about raiden saving sunny from the patriots or the old metal gear games remade. Thats what i hope it is, but i bet its got nothing to do with metal gear at all.

From the very start I didn't really like the tv series, it looked cheap, the plot was crap, the characters were poor and it made a real mess of the whole terminator continuity. Cameron started out being a smart and good acting "human behaving" terminator, but after two episodes she becomes stupid for no reason at all. The whole time traveling is messed up, having so many machines and resistance members going back and forth is just stupid and would really undermine the whole war in the future. The humans won the war in the future, yet both sides are still sending things back? Skynet is ment to have sent terminator back as a last desperate attempt to change the outcome of the war, by having sent so many back it dosen't seem as though it was a last desperate measure and considering the time machine was destroyed how is either side still sending crap back. Also the whole "good" vs "bad" terminator theme is really lame and tiresome now.

The yamato ingram is absolutely gorgeous, ever since i saw that episode when Ohta trashed a kid's bike and gave him a huge ingram toy to say sorry, it always made me wish that a real ingram toy that size would come out. But now that its out, i can't afford it

My yamato 1/60s, all my VF 1s are the old versions, not the new ones :- VF 0S with ghost VF 1S (painted in Max DYRL colours) VF 1S Strike valkyrie Roy VF 1J Armoured Valkrie VF 1A cannon fodder Queadlan Rau Miria YF 19 1/100 konig monster My yamato 1/48s :- VF 1S Roy with strike parts VF 1A Kakizaki with armoured parts I also ordered a VF 1J which should arrive next week or so. I'm gonna try and get more valks in this scale since some places are selling them cheaper than the new 1/60s. I've got other macross stuff like old figures and models by various campanies.

I'm not sure what to get in this series. My macross collection are mainly VF 1S, I've been looking at the 1/48s atm, since they are cheaper now. I've got the old 1/60s, don't know if i should get the same models over again in the same scale

I think all anime coming out these days are heading in the direction of boobies, panties, fetish etc.... which is why i rarely watch any new anime shows that come out. Probably because we are older and that we've out grown them, but then again I've never really watched anime for the sex, but for the mechs.
