I'm still playing this every now and agian, I've got a retro-fit defiant now, which means it can cloak Also joined an all borg guild/fleet, even though guilds was something i wasn't keen on afer my previous experience on RF online where they were uber hardcore 24/7 non stop, but this fleet i joined is very laid back and no presure what so ever, which means i can take my time playing.

Started playing this game again after a few months break, still on my first character and i've made it to the rank of Vice Admiral. USS Scoops fighting the Borg. Fighting the ships are easy, but fighting the drones are a pain USS Scoops in Fluidic Space USS River in Earth orbit, it's the retro-fit version with cloaking device My character with the away team, I like how my uniforms turned out for my character and team

I know, i was refering to other games, especailly the recent games being released by Ubisoft, they require you to be online all the time which pisses me off. They won't let you play single player unless your online, and if their server is down you can't play at all. Starcraft 2 rquires you to create an account first in order to play it offline. If you don't have internet to create one then you can't play either.

Great game, I really enjoyed the first one and was worried that the sequel would not be as good cos they didn't change much of the game play to something similar to other recent RTS like company of heroes etc. First impression it's just the old starcraft with new graphics, but its still really fun to play and the story is always good. I like games with stories Never played an RTS online before, I Might try this since i had to create a battlenet account. That's something I hate about PC games these days, some require you to be online just to play single player also.

I admit that maybe the last three or so episodes were much better than the rest, but there are just some elements in this show that we have seen done before and better. I just feel the characters are the most depressing bunch of people ever to come together. Everyone just seems to have issues, while real life people do have issues, but what are the chances of all these people coming together on a bus. Practically most of the main young characters have had something bad happen to their parents, what are the chances? They're stuck on a spaceship which is bad enough but they just keep piling in more angst to the characters that it just gets tiresome.

I finally got to see this show for the first time, i bought the DVD boxset. Being a fan of the previous Stargate shows and movies, i was really looking forward to this. But after watching it, i'm very disapointed with this show, I'm finding it very boring and the drama just gets dragged on. I know they're trying to make the show more "mature" by adding as much sex and angst in it, but It just dosen't work for me. And none of the characters are likeable, if any of them died, i wouldn't care, though i desperatly want Eli to die, he is so annoying. There are many other shows which are "mature" which keep me interested, but i'm afraid SGU is not gonna be one of them. I regret buying it now.

ZZ does get better and comes close to being a bit like Zeta at some points, but when you think you've seen the last of the slapstick, it reverts back to it at times. Like when the tone of the show gets grittier, then bang, they hit you with a cross dressing episode -

I've started watching Those Who Hunt Elves, thought i try something different from all the robot and sci fi anime i watch. -
I've only got one working eye, and I struggle with 3D movies, its really annoying now that some cinemas only show 3D versions of movies. When i put on the specs i see a normal 2D picture, but without them the picture is blurry which i suppose is ment to be the 3D effect. I went to see avatar, all my mates were talking about the 3D effects, but i was the only one saying the movie was actually long and boring.

About fansubs, I'm actually very grateful for them. I only discovered their existence on the internet about 5 years ago and have been downloading them ever since whenever a show i'm interested in is available like macross frontier etc. They have also exposed me to other shows that i may not have considered before. Eventaully I would buy the dvd versions of the shows i like direct from Japan or where ever cos i don't like watching movies on a computer and i always prefer hard copies.

Its kind of hard for me to support the anime market in my country since most of the shows available in the UK are shows that i'm not even interested in. I have downloaded fansubs since some of the shows have no chance of ever making it over here in the UK. I do prefer to buy hard copies instead of downloads but since anime is such a small market here, there's just no choice. I mostly import my anime from USA, Japan and Hong Kong as long as i've got some form of english translation for them like fansubs or scripts. I have noticed that the number of titles coming out in the USA is declining which is worrying since its my main source for english anime. UK has always been pretty slow on anime, when they finally started to release titles that are of interest to me, I'd already bought them all from other countries.

I wouldn't mind joining a guild/ fleet, but my experience in the other mmo i played (rf online) i felt under alot of pressure, and other members expected me to be on 24hrs a day. It was fun getting together to do quest and pvp, but eventually I couldn't keep up with the rest and it stopped being fun, with other players expecting too much from me i quit the guild for their sake. I like the pace in star trek, i don't feel like i'm in a mad rush to level up or constantly grind.

My ship is just a pure defiant, i don't like any of the other designs for that ship class. Theres an old picture of my old defiant (USS Defiance) somewhere back in the thread, before i restarted my character. My new one is just the same except i've called it the USS Valkyria. I've equiped it full of tetryon cannons and quantum torepedoes. So far it can do a whole load of damage, but it can't take that much punishment, I always find myself retreating to repair and recharge my shields lol.

I'm still playing but not as often, as i've started playing mass effect 2 instead, once i've finished it i'll be back playing STO. I'm still on my first character and its at captain level 5 atm. I'm a bit confused about how the skill tree works though, I'm a tactical officer, but do i need to level up my science and engineering skills too? I restarted my character a while ago before they had the respec option and i've been mostly leveling my combat abilities, like torpedoes, phasers and grenades etc.....

Does anyone know if the Hong Kong blu ray version is region free? I know the japan version is, but the HK version is a bit cheaper.

I have to say having owned a PS3 for almost 3 years now, i haven't really played it all that often and it still just sits there gathering dust as i've probably mentioned earlier in this thread. I just look at the games these days and don't get excited by them anymore, theres just not much improvement in terms of gameplay and its just the same old stuff being rehashed. I only get a new game if it continues a story that i've been following from the very beginning, like metal gear or god of war. And again even though i enjoy playing them, its the story that i'm interested in. Also if a game came out on multi platforms, i always end up getting the PC version instead, like resident evil 5, its just better in terms of graphics and its cheaper. I just like my PC more and if more console type games came out for it, i'm afraid my PS3 is just gonna lose out. In 3 years, my PS3 game collection only consist of 8 games and the only one i play the most is metal gear.

Everythings seems ok now, the date on my PS3 was 4/31/2020 when i switched it on this morning. Everything runs ok and setting the clock to the right time didn't cos any problems too. It was just yesterday when it rolled back to 1/1/1999 and online programs didn't seem to work at all. Looks like it was mass panic for no reason.

Crap, just noticed my ps3 is affected by the bug, the clock is reset to 1/1/1999, and my PS3 isn't even conected to the internet. I can still run offline games like metal gear, not sure how any new saves would be affected though now that the clock is buggered.

I decided to start all over again, i think i may have messed up my skill points. I mean i leveled some skills which i didn't really need.

Still can't seem to take screenshots, i keep ending up with blank black images, only one image turned out alright, out of 15. My ship the USS Defiance, i'm captain level 7 atm..... Wong@River_Waters

I've been using the print screen key, I had no problems taking pictures with it during open beta, but now when i take a picture, it still saves an image in the screenshot folder but it is a blank black images. Anyway i'm almost captain now and one step closer to getting my defiant , hopefully the screen capture bug would be fixed so i can take pictures of it.
