  1. I know, but UC dosen't get much attention, when was the last time did they make a full tv series set in the UC? OVAs and novels are mainly for the old fans, not for the new fans. UC is just unable to appeal to newer audiences.
  2. Yeah, but when F91 came out the core fans or UC fans weren't that old yet. If you look at the new star trek movie, they some how come up with a plot that dosen't alienate the old fans and they also manged to get new fans in the process. F91 and victory failed to do this. Which left bandai no option but to just concetrate on getting new fans only with the alternate shows. If f91 or other UC type show was a big success back then, then there probably wouldn't be an alternate universe.
  3. But the whole point of F91 is ment to be a new start. You don't need to know what happened in the previous gundam shows. Even victory gundam is the same, bandai's attempt at kick starting gundam for a new audience, but also trying not to alienate the core fans. With the alternate universes i feel they have lost the core fans.
  4. Just how complex or messed up is the robotech universe? I've never seen it before but it seems really messy to me. I wouldn't mind getting into it but it just seems like a big jumble of crap. Gundam is kind of messy with all the alternate universe stuff, but at least you can pick a universe and understand it. When i look at robotech, it's macross but at the same time its not. I suppose it would have been easier if i'd watched robotech first as a kid, but then would i look at macross the same way as i do with robo?
  5. it makes sense for women to play small children and teenage boys in anime, since no real bloke can ever get their voice to such high pitches unless your balls are crushed.
  6. is this movie only out in 3D cos my local cinema is only showing it in 3D. I'm blind in one eye so 3D dosen't work on me
  7. I've got a few figures too, but i always end up putting them away in storage. Its a nice change from my collection of robots, tanks and planes, but some how the figures don't stay on my shelf for long I always take them down eventually. Its like i feel guilty for having such figures on my shelf and they aren't even the really sexy type lolz
  8. too much s&m and uniforms, i would like a china dress sheryl or minmay
  9. Usually i would play through the game as a "dickhead", then play through it again as a saint. But the dialogue you get when playing the dick in bioware games are really fun just to see how characters react. It'll be cool if your actions in the first game affects how the sequel will be played. When i played knights of the old republic and its sequel both were disjointed and my actions in the first game were dismissed in two sentences in the 2nd part which left me disapointed. btw, I thought the voice acting in Mass Effect was great and it was nice that they actually gave the main character a voice too.
  10. My PC probably can run crysis with no problems, I've not played that game yet. I'm kind of slow when getting games I usually wait till they're really cheap. But mostly i play strategy games that keep me going for a long time before considering something new. I've only just waited this long just to get Call of Duty Modern Warfare 1. Not sure when Mass Effect came out but it was really cheap when i bought it a few weeks back.
  11. double post, delete this if possible
  12. Not sure what all the rating is all about but my rating is 5.9
  13. While i really enjoyed the first game, i'm not exactly excited about getting the sequel straight away. I'll probably wait till the game is a budget title, like i have done with the first one. Mass Effect's story didn't really take me in compared to other games like Knights of the old republic. Now that i've played through it once, i don't feel an urge to play through it again. Even though i've started a new game as a woman i've not really felt like continuing or exploring the game further. I've gone and started playing other games instead that keep me going for ages like empire total war.
  14. I bought this game for the PC a few weeks ago for £10. Over all its a great game though the sci fi and characters weren't all that original. I've played throught it once and i've started playing it again as a woman this time. First time playing through i went the renegade route which had some very funny dialogue at times.
  15. I like the fss series too, mainly for the mecha, they are the most beutifully designed robots i have ever seen. I've got the entire collection of the english books. I've only got 2 plastic models though, both are 1/100 scale. I've got the Knight of Gold and LED Mirage with flame unit. My modelling and painting skills aren't all that great so i found the kits really challenging to build which kind of put me of collecting more of them.
  16. So they changed the colour for the movie, i didn't know that. Blue is fine, I'm not that picky as long as i've got a VF 25 I don't think anything extra is included, all i got with mine was the super parts, the normal gun, knife, a stand and extra hands
  17. Just got my first 1/60 Macross Frontier alto vf 25 super messiah. I've not tranformed it yet, i intend to keep it in fighter mode like i'd done with my vf 0. My VF 25 looks a bit blue for some reason and the super parts are blue too.
  18. I'm probably repeating myself, as i've mention this a few times. Skynet loses the war thats why it sent back the terminators to try and change the outcome. But by sending things back and the resistence sending things back, events keep changing constantly, whos to say John Connor is still gonna be the "Great Leader", he might end up dead or just become an ordinary bloke. The same for Kyle and Skynet. Everything is changed. Skynet might not even send a terminator back, therefore no need for Kyle to go back too. Even the people are not the same anymore. Changes in events could also have changed their personality and experiences in life. Kyle might not even have sex with Sarah. The Kyle in Salvation is not the same Kyle in T1. Theres just no telling if your probably undermining your own future if you keep sending things back. I just don't like timelines that much theres just so many things that can get jumbled up and it becomes a big mess. T1 & T2 were great and salvation was ok, but it would have been better if they made a movie based on the future we've seen glimpses of in T1 & T2.
  19. I'm telling u guys, the scene when Uso's mother is killed in Victory Gundam. That seen really makes me cry
  20. Al is just a small boy he doesn't understand what war/politics is until the very end. Helping the Zeon was like a game for him, but through them and christina, his perception of the war becomes more real and less of a game.
  21. The ending to Gunbuster also made me sad Also the ending of zeta, 0080 and victory gundam made me really sad. Victory almost made my eyes shed tears. :(
  22. I would recomend gundam, no surprises there, but i think it maybe too complicated to get in to for new veiwers, especailly with all the spin offs and alternate universes. If you can stick to a universe, stick with the UC one first.
  23. I read a newspaper article on SGU and it said they wanted a show thats totally different and seperate from the other "cheesy stargate shows", something "more mature and similar to BSG", in order to attract new audiences who have never seen any of the other shows. The article also said it was more of a reboot just like the new BSG.
