I would like to give Gundam a chance... But one of the things that have kept me away from Gundam all these years is that with it's 30 year history I don't know where to start... I own a few episodes of one of the series and have caught bits of it on TV...and it seems to me like the series you can't just jump into at any old episode... How do all the Gundam series break down...? What ones are a must watch...? What ones can I skip...? What is the best way to begin...?

Hey Pete, YES it was VERY cool my wife and son got into it right away...it took me a few episode...but it won me over BIG time... I'm really glad y'all put me up on it...! Yeah...I'll do a Macross 7 review when we finish the series...but that could be awhile...we're only up to episode 6 and we only watch like 2 episodes a day...........

I first saw Ninja Scroll 12-13 years ago...and bought the DVD about 6 years ago...

I hate this current trend of remakes… First off, half these movies and TV shows they’re remaking were in their own way classics and don’t need to be remade because they’re just fine they way they are…they don’t need to be “reinterpreted” or “improved on”… And I wonder, if all that Hollywood can do is remake past productions…what the hell are they going to have to remake 20 years from now…?

Macross wouldn't be Macross with out the Variable Fighter front and center....but I always thought it'd be cool if they did a Macross spinoff that use the Destroids as the main mecha...

I'm watching Macross 7 for the first time right now...only 6 episodes intot it... And gawd dangit...! I already got Fire Bomber songs stuck in my head...!

Hey all...! So yeah...we watched Gurren Lagann and LOVED it... We're now giving Macross 7 a chance...so far we don't hate it...but it ain't doing it for us like all the other Macross productions have... After that I'm we're going to look into the all the titles everyone suggested to us on here... THANKS YOU to you all once again... PS I d/loaded "Cosplayers Frontier" and showed it to my wife............she found it........"interesting"..... The ake some awesome cartoons in Japan........porno....not so much.....

WOW…! Thanks everybody… This thread is getting a little big for me to thank every personally…but I have read everyone’s suggested and I’m very thankful for all the help… Because a few have wondered… Are son is a little over 10-years-old… I guess we’re sort of liberal at times what we would watch with him… I think the violence and brief nudity of Macross Zero and Frontier are about as far as we go… Any worse then that then only my wife and myself would watch… So yeah…I am looking mostly for stuff the three of us can watch together… But I’m also down for some more mature stuff for my wife and I…. And yes we have watched 'Macross: Do You Remember Love?' and 'Macross Flash Back 2012'… We may go back and watch the original SDF Macross…but not right away cause we recently watched the Robotech version……… Keep the suggestions coming… And once again THANK YOU EVERYBODY…! I think I just may have to become a regular poster on here…seems like a lot of cool folks post on here…

Yup... We've watch Mospeada / Robotech: New Generation... But those other ones sound interesting... And I like the OAV format...because we can sit down and see something in its entirety in an afternoon... I'll look them up I'm and see if the family is interested in giving them a try... Hi, I’m new here… I’m a long time anime fan…I was fan of anime before I even knew what anime was... Grew up on Speed Racer, Battle of the Planets, Starblazers, Captain Harlock, Astroboy, and Robotech (don’t hate lol)… In the late 80’s / early 90’s, with Akira, I really discovered manga and anime and on and off ever since then I’ve been a devotee… Now I’m a family man in my mid 30’s and recently my wife, son, and I have gotten into Macross BIG time… Together this summer we’ve watched Robotech (don’t hate lol), Macross Plus, Macross II, Macross Zero, and Macross Frontier (which my wife and son just LOVE), we haven’t decided if we’re going to watch Macross 7…… Anyways… Here’s our problem… Now that we’ve watch almost all of the Macross series…we are running out of Macross…and we want more dangit…! So I’m hoping I can get some recommendations for other shows that are like Macross or enjoyed by Macross fans… So other the Gundam…what are some good “Macross-like” dub or subtitled series…? Anything out there with high quality animation, cool transforming mecha, space opera drama, music, cute girls, and love triangles…? Thanks for reading this and any suggestions are most appreciated…!
