  1. Thanks, there's no articulation, the model is a fixed pose. For articulation, I really want to make polycaps joints. If polycaps like printing material is available. It would save the effort, if there are some existing 3D joints for download. Joints that are tested and guarantee work. I don't know, I never printed anything before. There are sample pics on the Shapeways site, but that don't give you clue for the comparison.
  2. Just opened a shop at Shapeways, and uploaded this mecha for sale. $38.57 The height is about 4.5 inches I think... The dimensions on the site said (2.732 w x 3.592 d x 1.902 h.) I presume 3.592 is the actual height. http://www.shapeways.com/shops/qcmechas I have the model save as .3ds, and import it to Accutrans 3d. In Accutrans 3d, you can set the print size of the model. Here's a tutorial for more details. http://www.shapeways.com/tutorials/converting-with-accutrans-3d
  3. Thanks for the scan and info. I bought a patlabor art book while back it had the same line arts. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Patlabor-2-the-Movie-Art-Book-This-is-Animation-Anime-Material-Sketch-/360718620528?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53fc815770 Very good book, also highly recommended.
  4. Those paper crafts are really cool, I have seen them couple times before and thought they were professionally made by company.
  5. Nice find! I don't like it too much, may be because the carrier seems oversize compare to the Ingram.
  6. 1/24 carrier would be as big as the shoe box, no, actually it might be bigger. lol It's possible Arcadia would do more patlabor mechas, but I wish Bandi would continue with the Master Grade line instead.
  7. Out of no where, I suddenly very interested on the labor carrier. If you guys come accoss any pics of it from books, animes, or movies, post them here.
  8. That review sounds more subjectiveobjective, but I understand Slaginpit's frustration. edit: oops, I meant to say objective.
  9. Ah, I'm too much a fan or the old ugly 1st version, need some time to get use to this more line art correct look. May be a year from now I will start to catch on.
  10. The head looks more detailed then I thought. I wish they do reactive armor for the Wave Ingram, because it's tall and kind the works.
  11. Looking at some new pictures posted, looks like the fighter mode is being compromised by the mecha. For the mecha to be short, now in fighter model the legs have to be extended from the knee joints. It changes the flow line in fighter mode. I probably don't know what I'm talking about, and hope I'm wrong.
  12. hmmm.... now I know where Armored Core got the back weapons mounting idea from.
  13. I hope he is directing, can't think anyone who can do a better job with Patlabor.
  14. let's not go there... Having those improvements are nice, though I want some of the old basic ones fixed first. Like having the canopy lifts up normally, better details on the rear landing gears and such.
  15. I think the nose cone chest is one of yf19 best features. The mecha mode looks cool so far, can't wait to the the fighter mode!
  16. If you look at the mecha rear view, you will see the butt piece/intake got a small triangle cut off. Kind the interesting, not sure I like that, may be there a function to it. For High speed mode, just give us an extra pair of wings.
  17. Looks like the entire show is a selling model kits ad, and they are not trying to hide it.
  18. Those are nice, I want three!
  19. Thank you, that make sense. A cube with 4 units , have it print out in 2 inches. You have to set it 1 unit = 0.5inch for printing, or a cube with 80 units, print out at 5 inches, 1 unit= 0.0625 I got a feeling I'm getting the conversion wrong.
  20. Something I have been wondering for a while. Let's say if I want to print out a 1 inch cube, how do I know if the 3D model is in the right scale? I have some experience with 3D studio max, not quite understand how the unit scale set up work. I suppose you have to import the model to a CAD program and have the scale set up there instead?
  21. SNES Metal Warriors was my favorite back then. Years later 3D games came alone, Saturn Virtual-On and PS1 Armored Core took the spot.
