  1. What he said. You also should remember that the TOS movie essentially stayed the same from Wraith of Khan to the Undiscovered Country. As referred to in other ST:TNG episodes, characters like Picard also wore that style of uniform when they were younger. As to the various ship types, show creators will obviously want different looks to get people interested in the show instead of seeing the same design. You also have to account how the ships were used in each series. Ships like the Enterprises (NCC-1701, A, B, C, D and E) and Excelsior generally serve as a kind of jack of all trade ships or workhorses as cruisers doing exploration, defense and other types of missions. Ships like the Reliant, Defiant, Oberth and Vovager represent more mission specifc designs. Defiant class ships have specifications. Oberth ships tend to focus on scientific exploration.
  2. I can live with the dub of Starblazers. However, I wish Voyager Entertanment would also include the original Japanese episodes jus as Rhino Video did for Battle of the Planets.
  3. My favorites included the following : Combattler Voltes V Dancougar Superion (first Autobot combiner and his head reminds me of Combattler)
  4. Bandai did release a Ramrod. Kimono my House claims to have some in stock. I love the Wild West Theme in the future. I thought it interesting how Colt's weapon was a six shooter.
  5. Are there any more scans from that Macross model book that was on your link that you posted?
  6. Thanks for the review. From what I recall of the three Yamato PS1 games, a friend of mine told me the first one was not very good. I bought the second and third one. I throughly enjoyed the Comet Empire one and the third game was some weird storyline that supposedly took place during the first series but used the engine from the second game.
  7. I was thinking the same thing too. The nice thing about those Yamato models is there is a wide variety and they are cheap. Hopefully, this is a sign of more re-issues.
  8. One site appears to provide a basic summary along some screen shots. Space Battle Ship Yamato -Iskandal eno Tsuioku (Limited Edition) (Japan Version) The summary seems kind of confusing as it states the games storyline takes place after the conflict with the Comet Empire and supposedly adapts Space Battle Ship Yamato-The New Voyage. It states that combat involves fighting the EDF, Gamilons and the Comet Empire. From what I recall, I thought the New Voyage involved the Black Nebula Empire. Can someone clarify?
  9. Glad that I got the Bandai's Soul of Popynica Space Battleship Yamato when it came out. The detail on that thing is scary. If anyone truly enjoys Space Battleship Yamato stuff with out having to build something, I would try and pick up the items from the Museum of Leiji Matsumoto series. The series included small display pieces like the Yamato, Andromeda and other series ships. The also had larger 1/1000 scale display pieces of the Yamato and the Andromeda for a DX series. For a various assortment of Yamato ships, check out the Space Battleship Minature World. Something that I would love to have next to my Yamato and Andromeda is this 1/1000 scale Arizona shown at a Wonderfestival.
  10. The release of Team America helps make up for this attrocity from this past summer.
  11. It's all in good humor. Dare I ask, where did you find this picture?
  12. The man who has probably done the best portrayal as the Man of Steel has passed away. Rest in peace Christopher Reeve. Along with portraying a larger than life hero, he proved a strong advocate for spinal cord research. You will be missed. 'Superman' star Christopher Reeve dies at age 52
  13. Wow, that's some fantastic work. I did not know you did detailing as well.
  14. Simple question. Do you think Yamato should release the 1/48 VF-1A as a Cannon Fodder version and would you buy it?
  15. Gameplay does sound different from the PS1 version. Aside from Gamelon combat, I wonder how battles with the Comet Empire will look like for both EDF and Comet Empire warships. With the Arrivederci Yamato PS1 game, you had control over other EDF ships including the Andromeda, general battleships, cruisers and destroyers, along with the Yamato. Back cover to Arrivederci Yamato PS1 game Given images of the new series so far, I'm not to enthralled. However, these screenshots for volume 1 do look nice.
  16. Dare I ask, how much does a pair go for in terms of retail price?
  17. You're thinking of Alex Cord who played Michael Archangel of the Firm.
  18. I don't know about that. B5 has strong story development and good characters. While it definately has its misses, like the Ranger movie, B5 as whole is a much more compelling series to me.
  19. Thanks. The initial reason that I bought a PS1 and had it chipped was to play the last few Space Batteship Yamato games.
  20. If anyone can particpate in this endeavor, how can one sign-up?
  21. Misspelling corrected. If you want to see some cosplayers who put a strong effort into their appearance, a friend of mine and his wife attended Dragon-con 2004. Check out their website, Adventurer's Place, specifically their Dragon-con 2004 gallery, especially the Hot Files.
  22. That makes perfect sense for broadcast TV. Is it true for cable as well? Do the subscription fees offset the money from advertisers? For Cable TV its a different model (even though some DO have advertisers) but there is still the same constraint. There is a seriously limited budget. And just because a show souds "cooler" than maybe the plot of another show doesn't mean they can spend more money on one versus the other. There is no way from a financial standpoint that ANY TV show could be produced for a higher budget than those produced today. It's Star Wars your talking about though. Advertizers will pay out the ass for those commercial slots. Also remember both Ewok movies and the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles. I have no doubt LFL marketers will put a strong effort to get hype about new programming along with getting a good line of advertisers. However, only time will tell how people react to the final Star Wars film and what will be the public's interest be for other types of programming.
  23. Guys, personally, I have to agree with JELEINEN that this gal who made the Millia did a fine job. In dealing with anime costuming, you have a certain level of interpretation as you're dealing with someone's illustration. As someone who has done costuming for a few years (mainly Star Wars), one has to use what one has in terms of their own physical appearance, skills and resources. Any ways, here are a few more pictures of this gal at the Altantia, Georgia, Dragon-con 2004 by Cosplay.com photographer, Eurobeat King. You can find more images at his Dragon-Con 2004 (3340 photos) gallery. Eurobeat King image of Millia cosplayer at Dragon-con 2004 While as much as I enjoy pretty Macross cosplay gals as the next red blooded male , my favorite has to be this VF-1S suit that can not only be transformed into all three modes, but one can add strike armor components.
  24. That GM does not seem happy with that Dom behind him. GM & Rick Dom
  25. I think that was the Autobot combiner Technobot, Computron, using the abacus.
