  1. So along with the backpack/wings having to come off for transformation, you also have to remove the intake vents and store them inside the backpack. Also, I'm not sure what's going on in the second set of pics but it looks like there is a seperate panel that covers the back, but isn't part of the backpack? I'm trying to remain optimistic, but as CoreyD said it's very bothersome for a $170 toy. And then there is this guy.
  2. Not sure if anyone is following that Skyfire toy Kronos, but it has come to light from a couple people who reviewed a test shot of the toy that the entire back portion that holds the wings needs to be removed for transformation. Apparently you just pull it off and snap it back on later. I haven't decided yet how much of a problem I have with that. Ideally I prefer perfect transformation, and I feel like Skyfire's design is simple enough to avoid something like breaking it in half for transformation. Additionally, the creator of the toy has been very open and communicative about his project but although he was asked many, many times about how the transformation works it was never mentioned. He did say once that the backpack could be removed as a feature, but that's hardly the same thing. Anyway, I'll most likely still get it and decide how I feel about it once I have it in hand. I'm thinking as long as the overall quality feels great, the joints are good and the transformation is enjoyable I'll be happy enough.
  3. That Takara exclusive Evasion Optimus doesn't look old and rusty to me. He looks too...delicious? Like he is made of nougat.
  4. Around here Whirl took a little while to hit the shelves, but once he did a month or so ago, he's been plentiful. I wish I could say the same for Cosmos as I'd love to get a second one. Him and Swerve were around for roughly a week here before they vanished.
  5. Glad you like Whirl, he's definitely a rare gem among Transformers over the last few years. The stickers brought out the little boy in me, too. Also I love how whoever designed him had a lot of love for the original or the Dorvack toy. Even the assortment of weapons are homages. I don't know how close you've been following Transformers news, but there is a Roadbuster coming out soon that looks like it may also come with stickers.
  6. Kronos looks pretty much perfect to me. I couldn't care less what other toys he will or will not fit with, I just like toys and they all mix and mingle anyway. Considering how nicely done Daca's MP10 heads were I expect Kronos to be an equally high quality toy. If FansToys makes one later on and it looks good, great, I'll buy that one too.
  7. That's the sassiest I've ever seen Gojira. I love it! Also, it's weird but the lighter grey has really grown on me - kind of gives Grimlock a more cartoony aesthetic. The green plastic has grown on me as well. Still might pick one up for my little girl if I should happen across one at a store.
  8. Cool, thanks for the link. I sliced those tabs on mine but it still didn't quite do the job. Turned out the tabs on the forearms that form the top of the cab and hold the middle panel in place were too thick and were keeping the middle panel from rotating up as far as it needed to go. I had to slice those as well, and now the windows line up. I know it sounds weird, but sometimes I enjoy figuring out weird little problems like this. Not saying I actively want my toys to have problems, but when its something that can be fixed relatively easily I always end up with an extra satisfaction - similar to building a model kit. :EDIT: And yes, some extra paint works wonders on this thing. I'm not very good with paint but I might try doing a few little touches here and there. It's a cheap toy, if I really mess it up I can buy another one.

    1/48 dead?

Yep, 1/18 with GI Joe size fully articulated pilots. I'd spend $∞ on that.
  10. I popped the arms off mine and I see what you are talking about with the grey rotating joints needing to be facing the right way. However, mine were both already in the higher position. I tried rotating them around to the lower position and transforming and that's when I realized we're talking about two different issues. When they are in the lower position there are big gaps on the window/arm parts in the front of alt mode, which is obviously not how its supposed to be - and is an issue that can be corrected as you stated. The issue of misalignment that I'm talking about is that the window parts on the middle rotating panel don't line up with the rest of the windows (the parts on the arms).
  11. "Triangles" pretty much refers to anything made of black plastic in that entire area, top and bottom. On the 171 I had, everything involved with that entire assembly cracked and fell apart.
  12. If you mean the triangle parts that are breaking, I posted photos a while back in this very thread. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=37124&page=5#entry1076387
  13. Evasion Optimus is a pretty great toy. What I think is weird is how he seems so much above any beyond anything else in the line, like he was made years ago. My only niggle is the misaligned windows on the front in alt mode. I can't figure out whats causing it, the panels are obviously supposed to line up.
  14. You know what, I'm not going to fight with you. I don't like internet fighting, it's ugly and unnecessary. What I've said already, and what you've said already pretty much speaks for itself. And since you didn't feel the need to post the link to my "attacks" on TFW, I'll do it now. http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-news-rumors/985278-mp-8x-grimlock-re-release-14.html Apologies to everyone else for polluting the thread here.
  15. Please direct everyone to my supposed "attack". Go on, I'll wait. Two, I accused you of nothing. What I did was point out your deception to everyone after you claimed to not be an ebay seller that is clearly you. You can buy and sell and profit off whatever you want, it's not a crime regardless of what people think of it. People are also free to call you out for being deceptive and flat out lying. Also, I've been a member on these boards long enough where I do not have to defend my character, so please feel free to say what you will about me.
  16. I've never really cared for it, not even as a kid watching Robotech. I have nothing against it, it's just not visually interesting to me so I never bother to transform into that mode. That said, I don't think I've ever gotten the impression "so many people" dislike it. I've always assumed I was in the vast minority.
  17. That pretty well sums up my thoughts on the toy, too. It's pretty and it looks good standing there, but to me it doesn't feel like $300 well spent. I LOVE handling the VF-19 toys, but this YF-19 just has that fussy 'don't touch me' feel. I'm sure the VF-0D will be better considering it's a simpler transformation design.
  18. Thank you for all of the photos SAVE and Tochiro. This looks so beautiful. Great that we got to see the underside as well! I assume all of the little brass bits are just for the prototype so those parts can move without breaking easily and will be plastic when it goes into production.
  19. Push it far past its limits and completely destroy it.
  20. Considering the way AmiAmi handles thier foreign customer service, I would not doubt that for a second.
  21. Shipped from AmiAmi 4/1, arrived to me in Minnesota 4/2. I think that's my fastest EMS shipment ever. Can't open it until later, but I can gaze at it lustily through the box window.
  22. That's probably why I've never noticed an ankle problem with any of mine, Gerwalk mode is forbidden in my home.
  23. If you mean the squares in the lower right-hand corner of the tray that holds the bird, those are adapters for the stand that comes with the Arcadia VF-1s.
  24. Saw it was available at AmiAmi this morning for a better price than my HLJ preorder and nabbed one. Must not have lasted long, I see they're sold out again.
