    VF-11c

That is a beautiful repaint. VF-11 Ravens please, Arcadia!
  2. Yep, new crotch, clear canopy and non-knurled pins in the shoulder hinges. TV 1A Max is the same. I know poor Kakizaki was never popular but he must really be unloved for him to still be lingering at HKC for such a low price. That's a total steal for any VF-1 version 2.
  3. Kakizaki is represented: Green visor.
  4. I just got one of those 1A Kakizaki's two weeks ago, the crotch lock seems like the newer style to me. The bar pops in and out with no fuss.
  5. "I want to come while enjoying that for me and you Macross fan"
  6. I love that amber canopy.
  7. ProTip: Only bring the Cannon Fodder VFs to the bathroom with you, in case there's an "accident".
  8. From now on I shall call this the "Painting Machine VF-1J"
  9. Nah, I like it too. I shaved the neckbeard off many years ago. I love Macross, I love seeing new Macross kits and toys made and I get a kick out of how many differences there can be with every new version of the VF-1. Parts of this look a little wonky in photos, sure, but I don't give a crap. I'll buy every new incarnaton of the VF-1 just like I buy every new incarnation of G1 Optimus Prime. The only thing I'm slightly concerned about, and I use the word 'concerned' very lightly (this isn't an EKG readout I'm looking at here) is that the size and number of little fiddly bits may cause me some frustration during the build and subsequent transformations, but eh, first world problems.
  10. Just smile, wink and say "it's exactly what it sounds like."
  11. Yes, that's the same Maiden Japan. He does outstanding work.
  12. Got mine from NY today. Thought it was Golden Week'd in Osaka because the JP Post link NY sent me said that's where it was. Checked the tracking number on the USPS site and it was already in my city! The JP Post site still says its in Osaka. Anyway, this thing is gorgeous. I like it quite a bit better than the Alto version. Best Frontier toy to date IMO. Well, best Frontier toy outside of the SDi VF-25, which will never be unseated by anything.

    Bandai SD Infinite

This is still my favorite Frontier toy and it is holding up really well after a couple years of transforming & posing. A reissue would be nice and a continuation of the line would be nicer!
  14. The 17S is currently my favorite Yamato release, but damn if the 19P isn't almost tied. It's by far my favorite color scheme and head for this VF. Such a perfect toy.
  15. This issue will be fixed on the V3. Back on topic....Can't wait for this one. I got rid of my Alto to make way for it. I still wish Alto's would have had less tampos on it, more like the early photos showed. The final version looked way too busy to me, more like a NASCAR VF or something.
  16. Was it mentioned in some other Tolkien text that they were common mountain giants? This is the part as it appears in The Hobbit (the book): "When he peeped out in the lightning flashes, he saw that across the valley the stone giants were out and were hurling rocks at one another for a game, and catching them, and tossing them down into the darkness where they smashed among the trees far below, or splintered into little bits with a bang." and later, "they could hear the giants guffawing and shouting all over the mountainsides." "This wont do at all," said Thorin, "...we shall be picked up by some giant and kicked sky high for a football." "Well, if you know of anywhere better, take us there!" Said Gandalf, who was feeling very grumpy and was far from happy about the giants himself." I don't see how Jackson's interpretation of the giants is very far off from what's in the book. It's obvious in the book that the giants are very large and that they are all aware that they are in very real danger from them.
  17. Yeah, there are a couple of sentences about the rock giants being out and throwing boulders at each other. It's embellished in the movie of course, but most things are. I saw it tonight and loved every minute. I thoroughly enjoyed Radagast, even though his part wasn't in the book. Overall I thought it was too short if anything. A local paper here praised the old animated version for covering the whole book in such a short amount of time. Well yeah, you could sum up the whole story, and any story, in thirty seconds of animation if you had to. I guess more and more people are developing short attention spans these days. Anyway, looking forward to the next three (so happy there is a third!) and their extended editions.
  18. The markings are what eventually killed the 171 for me. I really like the toy but I hated looking at it. It was a busy eyesore among my otherwise classy-looking and minimally marked Macross collection. I wish they had kept it like it looked in earlier photos before their tampo machine barfed all over it.
  19. Same here. It also bugs me that they are making me ask for my deposit back rather than just giving it to me automatically.
  20. Didn't the same lawsuit include the HiMetal VF-1 that was essentially a down-scaled Yamato 1/60 V2 or was that a seperate case? There have been so many lawsuits I tend to lose track.
  21. Anyone else preorder from DenDenHobby? Wondering when I'll hear from them...
  22. I'm pretty sure Anti-Viagra gear would look exactly like the suit Sean Connery wears in Zardoz.
  23. The best looking figures of the line (Dreadwing/Skyquake, Breakdown, Ultra Magnus) aren't even out yet. You're screwed.
  24. Looks like my 171 is going to have a pair of hands dangling off the rear end in fighter mode.
  25. Mmmmm...Yoshinol. A toast to the Hory Froating Head. May his hory head always be froating above us and showering us with VF rainbows. Cheers!
