Good to hear that they are more like a true proxy. Thanks for sharing. Now I am really curious about what are the advantages of using NY vs a proper proxy? When there is a choice. I know at some situation, NY is the only viable choice.

Thanks for the reply. I think I clearly misunderstanding something here. Sorry, it is a bit long. I put a request for proxy through FromJapan. They took the 8800 payment. And inform me that when the item arrived I will be charged 300 + 200 + 660 yen for plan fee, payment fee, and domestic shipping fee. Now the status of this order is "ordered - pending arrival". So I assume FromJapan have placed an order on P-Bandai website and is waiting for the item for arrive at their warehouse. This is a proxy service in which FromJapan act as my middle man for a fee to get around the no shipping outside of Japan rule. As for NY, you are paying them 9400 yen to order the SPP which they will deliver to you at some point. This is not a proxy, NY will try to get the item and deliver it to you, but NY did not promise to place an order at P-Bandai website on your behave. They are free to source the item any way they can. Or cancel your order if they cannot find it (as others here have complained that they sometimes do). Am I naive in believing that FromJapan is a true proxy and they are just operating in a similar way as NY? Has anyone that uses FromJapan as a proxy for P-Bandai have their order canceled down the road? I have ordered an item via FromJapan on Rakuten and other non-auction sites that they support. My order was canceled one time. The online shopping site claim that the item had been sold and is no longer available. These sites try to sell via multiple middlemen (or their own shop front), so there is always the risk that the request from FromJapan cannot be fulfilled. But that is not the same for P-Bandai right? I wonder what will happen If I make a request on FromJapan for the SPP now. Given that the website shows that it is sold out. Will FromJapan just reject my request or will they take my money and wait for more stock to become available at P-Bandai. If they are a true proxy, my request should be rejected.

I am totally new to this TWE and PO situation and trying to learn, this is a real question I hope you will not take this the wrong way. Give what you said, is there any merit going with NY and other similar middlemen vs going with pure proxy service like FromJapan?

My proxy order for the SSP change status from order pending to ordered awaiting arrival. I hope this means the order went through. I should have ordered more to help out those that have not yet ordered. Was so relax about this and not rushing because I expect the ordering window will be much longer. Are the popularity of the DX VF-1 line attract scalpers to get this? If Bandai never reissues p-Bandai item, then these going to cost some pretty pennies later. Wish there will be an increase of order limit a bit later after Bandai realise what is happening.

Thanks for the info. I have been paying the 300yen plan mostly when I did auctions. I was asked to select the plan before placing any bid. But for shopping, there is no plan fee or payment fee (only did this once). As shown in their example on this page: http://www.fromjapan.co.jp/sp/notice/en/ (scroll down to pricing simulation and click on the shopping tab). I wonder if proxy shopping from Tamashii counted in this category. So far, I was only asked to pay 8800yen and no mention of plan selection. Maybe that come later? Anyone that did TWE item via FromJapan can help to clarify?

FromJapan quoted 8800 yen for charge 1 Can't find any information about domestic shipping cost. I have shopped (non-auction) via FromJapan from Rakuten and there is no payment or plan fee it seems. And I can't find any info about plan fee or payment fee for TWE item. Anyway, I will wait for NY page to come up and see who I will go with.

Been hunting around. Will check Jungle and Mandrake. NY is my last resort. No urgency since I have some many new things coming in. But I love CF. I am waiting for a 1/48 CF to arrive. It has a set of woodland armor waiting for him.

Not sure if this is similar to what you have tried. When I try to repair a few VF-1 1/60 v2 with broken/split shoulder hinges, I found this and it works great. Loctite bonding system The Yamato shoulder joint plastic is a bit smooth and oily (not sure what type it is), and nothing I tried works until I attempt this. The pressure on those hinges might not be as strong as yours, so not sure if it will work but worth a try I think. You can also try to thin out the bar a bit to reduce some pressure on the hinge. Good luck.

I wrongly remember that I have to file a claim within 90 days. So if there is no delay I might just get this in time (release date + 3 days for the seller to get item and ship + 3 to 4 weeks shipping to me). This might be cutting it quite close.

Ebay and PayPal have a max duration for filing claim or report problem. Since this will not be released till much later this year (I am sure it will be outside of their time window), does that means I will have no protection?

Two was sold. The seller added another two (I got one of the new two), and now it is gone. He/She might add more. If anyone is keen, keep checking.
