Good job on the model. I was just rewatching SDF Macross today, and hadn't ever noticed this before but some of those turrets are actually mecha hatches, you can see pods launching from them during the attack in Saturn's Rings.

I was sorely disappointed with the Haydonite Designs, reminds me too much of certain other shows.

Funny, considering it survived being attacked by the Robotech Masters, an enemy infinitely more powerful than the pathetic Haydonites. Its not like it isn't armed or anything and could repel an attack. Of course, that would get in the way of 'telling a really cool story' or some such other Tommyism.

I think he just likes to blow things up in spectacularly stupid ways.

Androgynous? The women in Shadow Chronicles all have gigantic breasts and incredibly wide hips and constant ass shots (like Maia leaning over her robot while Macrus and Alex check out her ass.) How could you possibly think they were manly? And I didn't think the men looked girly either?

Maybe androgynous wasn't the correct term, you could pretty much switch heads on the male characters and the bodies were pretty much the same, same as the women.

I just got my copy yesterday, it's not that bad of a movie, the battles are a little stiff, and the character bodies on the androginous [sp?] side. But I thought it was too short, the only thing that really bothered me was a couple of the technical things and the end of a certain object.

Plus the fact that it screams don't mess with me [at least in fighter mode anyway], too bad they dropped the morphing wings on the production model.

Rather than start a new thread, does anyone have scans of the line art from VFX1 for the Zentraedi pilots uniform as well as the characters, I know that Jester has images of it on his site, but I'd like to get my hands on some hi-res scans so that I can colorize and shade them [which most of the images on my site will eventually get replaced with].

Also if I can ask a favor of anyone if you run across a mecha or uniform or piece of equipment that isn't listed on the site, let me know and we'll get a profile set up for it.

They did it with the defunkt RT movie (AKA Megazone 23) as well as the second chapter "The Masters".

I didn't watch the RT movie, nor MZ23, and only someone who's brain was made of pudding wouldn't have figured out in 5 seconds that what's his name was a spy.

I'm talking more along the lines of no one knows that spy has a connection.

Mmm that smells of RT for me...

In what manner does it smell of RT, main characters falling in love with a spy is a major mainstay of a lot of action/intrigue shows. Of course alot of them get so bloody convoluted that you can't tell what's going on anymore, and then they resort to just killing the chracter when they get married.

I'm not advocating a series that doesn't feature any VF's though.

Being a bit more destroid oriented simply adds some flavour, provided it's well written and directed.

Isn't really a suggestion for a main series, if we ever get a new one, though.

As I said, more for something like an OVA exclusive offshoot.

Make it a little more interesting, a musical artist that works for the government and promotes the lies they are telling about the way the current war is going.

If I'm not mistaken...the pilot walked out of the downed VF-0 and then there was an explotion behid him which blew him to oblivion.

Like I said, I haven't seen the whole thing yet, and the way it was worded didn't quite explain the reason for the explosion.

Okay so Graham i am an aspiring film maker. My job in the Air Force is videographer, and i intend to go to film school when my enlistment is up. Now i know how the film industry works, and i know how everything changes, but lets say i do become a direct who has made enough quality films that a studio in hollywood would bank roll a dream project of mine with me having complete and total control over said project. You mean to tell me that if i put out a Macross film, probably a live action version of DYRL or something real close to it you wouldn't watch it? I feel that the problem with hollywood and their adaptations is that they don't let fans make the movie. Sam Raimi is a Spiderman fan and it shows, Michael Bay has probably never once seen an episode of Transformers and it shows too. I am a die hard fan and always have been. i know what belongs in a Macross film and what doesn't and if it wasnt just a CGI orgy of trash and it was actually what it's supposed to be you wouldnt watch my film?

Hopefully one day i will be able to tackle a dream project and if it is something like Macross, god help me i will show the world what a real adaptation of an anime should be.

Have you seen silent hill yet, supposedly he was a fan and totally butchered it, not saying that you would, but sometimes fans have a bad habit of "Trying To Make Things Better" or at least what they consider is better.

Btw, so if the VF-0 is like a flying Fuel Tank, why don't they explode when they get hit? I assume that this is the same for the SV-51. Makes one wonder how the VF-0 that crashed near Shin and the girl he rescued was still able to operate after the explosion that killed the pilot

Well, I think that today's Anime are based on facts thus it's kind-off hard to believe that there no plausible/possible explanation for some things we see on certain Animes..especially Macross Zero which is made recently.

Even if the creator didn't give an explanation...I think we can find a suitable explanation out there which would make sense

Things don't always fireball when they crash or get shot up, as long as the structural integrity was intact they would be fine, I haven't seen all of MZero yet but the pilot may have just snapped is neck or something.

JsARCLIGHT and bsu legato are on the right track. It doesn't matter if these reasonable explanations which describe the VF-0 are true or not. What matters is they are reasonable and their opposite can't be disproven either (since you can't disprove the adsence of an explanation). As for the cost of building fighters, there are numerous countries building and developing fighters right now. If they all became a world government like the U.N. in Macross, the combined resources of these nations, now enjoying all the new technologies, economic growth and enhanced production capabilities that OverTechnology granted them, could have hundreds of simultaneous military projects underway. Hell, it's long been said the European Union would become the new super power if they ever got their crap together, because the combined economic power of all those countries would be more than any other single nation on the planet. If the U.N. World Government of Macross existed...look out.

Let's not forget they were also developing tons of other mecha, aircraft, ships, new equipment, and weapon systems during this time period, they probably had every known weapons and aerospace manufacturer and developer working on something throughout 2000 to the 2009 period. So there probably wouldn't be a problem with them manufacturing and testing two different variable fighters.

As for the size of the UNS I'd say that would still depend on who was contributing troops to the cause, I'm sure most member nations kept their own armies and the UNS itself just started recruiting from those ranks and new enlistees.

I doubt 2007 will see any more macross ovas. History shows the next one will probably be in the early 2010's. If we are lucky we may get some mangas.

I was just wondering if there are any 'official' dimensions and if there's an image up on the net with the 'true' 'official' kite design with the true 'official' colors?

I've tried searching the forums with these keywords: Kite/UN Spacy Kite/Macross Kite and nothing came up or stood out except for someone referring to "The UN Spacy Database," which wasn't of any help. I've also tried searching through Google and Google Images and came up empty handed.

If anyone is, by chance, curious as to why I ask. I've been considering getting a tattoo of something I'm passionate about; it just so happens that I'm passionate about Macross. The tattoo would be of the kite with マクロス right below it. Since it's permanent I'd like nothing more than the 'official'...real-deal image. ...As to why I ask for the dimensions, if I need to scale down the image or upscale it accordingly...staying true to the dimensions...keeping the aspect ratio and whatnot. So I would greatly appreciate any and all help. Thanks!

I don't there is an actual official size for the Insignia, it seems to change size from show to show, with it being moderately sized in SDFM on uniforms to being huge on the uniforms of the Bridge Bunnies in M7. For official colors I would probably check model boxes for that.

I have that turned off, as well as the avatars for faster loading on dial-up.
