  1. Some more pics: http://www.toysdaily.com/discuz/thread-94240-2-1.html
  2. No we don't, but we do have Labor Day (May 1st), which is a public holiday.
  3. Gosh, I really hate those accelerator suits. The mere concept of them in a GI Joe movie is stupid in my opinion, and it makes the whole film more like a superhero movie than a military one. What's the point of having Snake-Eyes if everyone can move like him?
  4. I hope the heatshield issue is just a mis-transformation, and not a design flaw. A cause for concern, but not a cause for panic.
  5. Some pics taken by other people: http://www.toysdaily.com/discuz/thread-93711-1-1.html The talkshow was basically an informal Q&A session. And the questions were pretty standard ones, such as, what is the most memorable part about making Macross F, Kawamori's favorite character, favorite valkyrie, etc... Nothing new, but it was entertaining to hear from the man himself. My only complaint is the interpreter. She should have at least done some research on Kawamori and Macross. There were two highlights during the show though: 1) Kawamori displayed a VF-25 built using Lego blocks and claimed that only 3 exist in the world. It has perfect transformation with no part swapping and only took less than a minute to transform. Quite cool in my opinion. Let's hope that Bandai will release it as a toy 2) Kawamori drew a VF-25F, while Ebata drew Alto, Sheryl and Ranka on the spot. You can see pics in the link above After the show was over, they were also nice enough to give autographs before leaving. All in all, it was a fun show, but like I said, nothing new about the Macross F movie was revealed, except that it will be coming this fall. Actually, Kawamori also teased us to watch the movie to find out if Michael is still alive. I heard that Kawamori had a very tight schedule during his visit in HK, and I wonder if he met up with the Yamato people.
  6. The models look alright, but like I said, nothing we haven't already seen, except for the Psycho Gundam Hong Kong night edition . It's basically a chromed version of the regular Psycho Gundam and is quite an eye candy. Let's hope tomorrow's talk show with Kawamori san will be better.
  7. Hmm.. I know nothing about military operations, but since all the joes including the leaders are spread out in various missions, shouldn't there be at least someone at headquarter overseeing everything? In other words, where the heck is Hawk?
  8. Stopped by the exhibition today but was quite disappointed by what were on display. Nothing that we haven't already seen. There was a booth dedicated to all the works created by Shoji Kawamori, including Mac F, but they were mostly design sketches. An official creator's handbook by Kawamori san is also available for sale, but I didn't feel like spending HK$200 bucks on it. Here are some pics taken by others if you are interested: http://www.toysdaily.com/discuz/thread-93508-1-1.html http://www.toysdaily.com/discuz/thread-93537-1-1.html Note that the only pleasant surprise are some soon to be released products by Fewture. Guardian fans will love it.
  9. Episode 6 is out now... keep them coming!
  10. Try the Terrordrome site instead. You can view them all without the need to register. http://www.theterrordrome.com/forums/viewt...=136&t=2610
  11. Wow.. episode 4 and 5 continue to be pretty good. I also heard episode 6 is out there somewhere but haven't found it yet. My only complaints are the voices of Duke and Flint. Don't really like them and prefer the original from the Sunbow series. So is Flint still second in command? And I wonder if they are going to finally kill off Duke this time around.
  12. So this is what Graham was hinting at when he said "expect to see some interesting non-vf1 repaints" Cool, although I was hoping to for a VF-19.
  13. Does anyone know if Bandai is still going to reissue the VF-25S (Ozma) stand alone version or has it been cancelled due to the release of the full armored version? Thx.
  14. Wow... just saw the first 3 episodes. This is definitely for the fans who grew up with G I Joe and what Sigma Six should have been. No bullshit and no stupid battle cry. Let's hope the live action movie won't disappoint us.
  15. According to the announcement on the C3 website, Mr. Kawamori and Ms. Risa Ebata (Macross Frontier character designer) will both attend the Macross Frontier Talkshow. The show is scheduled to be on Apr 25th from 5:50pm to 7:50pm at Star Hall. The announcement then went on to give a brief profile of both Kawamori and Ebata. Not much details were disclosed regarding the talk show. Will keep you guys posted if I hear more. Hopefully, we will find out something about the movie.
  16. Just read from the news that Shoji Kawamori will attend C3 Hobby Show in Hong Kong on Apr 25th for a Macross Frontier Talk Show. Anyone planning to go? http://www.c3-hk.com.hk/news.html (Website in Chinese only)
  17. Not really retired. From what I read, he still wants to do another martial arts film together with Jet Li for the Asia audience, as "Forbidden Kingdom" was more targeted at the West. However, it's anyone's guess whether it will happen or not. And yeah, he's in his mid-fifties, way past his prime, so don't expect anything groundbreaking from him. Like I said, he has lost his appeal in Asia, and ever since his extra-marital affair, his image has gone down the toilet. Perhaps that's why he did something different in Shinjuku Incident.
  18. Even though Jackie Chan is a bigger name, Shinjuku Incident is more a Derek Yee film. If you watch Yee's earlier films such as "One Night in Mong Kok" and "Protege", you will find the styles very similar. I was originally a bit hesitant to see this film because, honestly, Jackie Chan has pretty much lost his appeal in Asia. However, in the end I gave it a try because of Yee's involvement. I was pleasantly surprised by how solid the script was. All in all, another great film by Yee.
  19. I assume the Aoshima Beta will be compatible with the Toynami version of Legioss, is that correct?
  20. Same for me. Ever since I shipped all my collection to HK from the US, they've been in storage. No wonder the mini-storage business is growing so rapidly here in HK. So Graham, you only display Macross stuff and nothing from other toy lines? The poor valkyries need some friends
  21. Sorry, took me a while to find out where the sniper rifle was stored. Didn't realise it was stuck at the bottom of the second plastic tray (I can be very blind sometimes). Anyways, I just checked and, unless I didn't do it correctly, looks like the sniper rifle does get in the way of the landing gear when attached in fighter mode. The rear ones have no problem, but the front one just doesn't touch the ground (see pics). I personally think this is a minor flaw because the rifle simply kicks ass! As for the rear landing gear covers, the one on the left hand side doesn't close tightly, while the right hand side one is too tight. I am already getting paint chip, sigh.... Also read that in battroid mode with the fast packs on, the toy can't stand on its own, hence Bandai gave us the display stand. Haven't confirmed this myself, but will try soon. I am not a good toy reviewer (have very low standards and just the fact that they are making a toy out of the VF-25G already satisfies me). So will let other MWers have the honor.
  22. Suggest that you get it soon. They are going fast here in Hong Kong, and those that remain will probably have ridiculous prices like the Alto version.
  23. The Michael VF-25G just came out in Hong Kong a few hours ago. The box is about twice as thick as the Alto version. It came complete with fast packs and a standard stand. Damn, I just love the good old styrofoam packaging. Just wish Bandai had used it to package everything rather than just the valkyrie. Happy to report that there is no bent head laser. However, the cover of the rear landing gear seems quite floppy right out of the box. Don't know if the same problem exists in the Alto or Ozma versions, as I haven't opened them yet. I don't have time to play with the fast packs yet, and still have to learn how to transform the VF-25. I am sure more and better pics will come soon as other MWers get theirs. Enjoy!
  24. I am really looking forward to the Fire Valkyrie in the series. However, I certainly hope it's not based visually on the original DX toy back in the 90s
  25. All my toys go back into their boxes after I am done playing with them, so no problem for me.
