  1. You never know. After all, no one expected Bandai to release the VF-25F + fast packs bundle. Also, the quality of the VF-100 line thus far is way too inferior in my opinion. I don't think anyone is happy with it.
  2. Finally an update on the VF-19Kai!!! I am actually quite surprised that everyone's excited about it since I thought most people prefer the Blazer valkyrie.
  3. Hopefully, we will find out more about the line at the Tokyo Toy Show 2009 http://www.toysdaily.com/discuz/thread-101755-1-1.html
  4. I am sure you can easily find someone in Hong Kong who will do it for you for a small fee.
  5. Just wondering, when the YF-21 first came out, was there any complaint about the instruction manual being extremely confusing? I noticed Yamato uses the same manual for the VF-22, but I gave up reading it after a while, and instead relied on YouTube. Am I alone on this?
  6. If Takara ever does a Masterpiece version of Jetfire, it could happen. After all, Kawamori revised the design of Masterpiece Starscream.
  7. The VF-25 looks too much like the 1:100 version. Perhaps they are derived from the same mold?
  8. Not to mention most people can't visually tell the difference between the two characters...
  9. I believe the Bandai valks tend to sell out much faster. Either that or their prices will skyrocket after a while. On the other hand, Yamato's stock tend to last much longer, especially with reissues.
  10. I can already see the price of the stand-alone fast packs come down. Good news for us all!
  11. I never realised the VF-22 has no heatshield in battroid mode
  12. Saw the VF-22 in Hong Kong today. Going price is HK$1119 (c.US$143). It says limited to 500 pieces (not sure what that means). The box is pretty compact and similar in size to that of the VF-11 (kudos to Yamato for learning) but it has no stand. Still, I think it looks awesome!
  13. I liked Armageddon and loved the first TF film, but this one gave me a headache most of the time. Guess I am getting too old for non-stop action. And I really hated the master-apprentice relationship between Fallen and Megatron. The theme has become a cliche and given Megatron's character, his subservient attitude makes no sense anyway. I was hoping that the Fallen would be some sort of common enemy for both the bots and cons, but oh well...
  14. Which line is that VF-19Kai from? Looks cool. http://www.flickr.com/photos/twtaste/26302...ool-942488@N25/
  15. HLJ has updated pictures of the full armored version of the VF-25 Alto: http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN959033 Ozma: http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN956817 Hmm... somehow the armors look detachable, and if they really are, I wonder if the design of the plain VF-25 has been improved...
  16. Definitely better than Dragon Ball Evolution. And yes, I did see the movie 'cause I had a free ticket and too much free time Blood was actually a joint-effort between Asian and Western moviemakers, and the result was a half-breed that has neither the appeal of a western sci-fi nor the excitement of an Asian action film. It is a very common problem these days for joint-production. The only selling point was the leading actress Giana, and she's not even that popular anymore. I actually don't mind wire work, if done well. A lot of the old Jackie Chan movies used wire work, but they were executed so well that you couldn't really tell. IMHO, wire work only becomes awful when you have non-action actors pretending they know martial arts.
  17. I am looking forward to see new pics of the VF-19Kai too, but the current emphasis seems to be on the Ex-gear. And given the recently drastic drop of the prices for the VF-100 line, it doesn't look good. But of cos I hope I am wrong
  18. The prices of the VF-100 series have tumbled here in HK. You can now get the VF-25G Michael for less than HK$200 (c.US$26). BTW, does anyone know if the cockpit canopy is designed to be open-able? I opened it by accident, but noticed a small crack at the front tip.
  19. I don't recall them ever showing Ozma wearing an Ex-Gear. Which episode was that?
  20. Wow... had no idea that the armor is removeable or that it could turn into a cockpit mock-up. Will definitely buy one!
  21. While it's true that we don't have to worry about shipping costs in Hong Kong, we DO have to worry about running out of space quickly, unlike our fellow MW members in the US. So yeah, smaller boxes are always welcome!!!
  22. I heard the Macross M&M VF22S were already announced by Yamato and will be coming in 2010, but couldn't find anything on the web. Does anyone know?
  23. I talked to a local toy store owner who has direct contact with Yamato in Hong Kong today. According to him, the exact number of VF-22S units that will be produced is still uncertain. The "1000 units" stated in the advertisement could mean different things, i.e. 1000 just for the domestic market in Japan and additional units for international market, 1000 for both domestic and international markets, etc... However, he assures me that there will definitely be only one production run, period.
  24. Yes, I really wish Yamato would re-issue the VF-0A with fixed arm. I prefer the grey color scheme over the Focker one. Knowing Yamato, I guess it's only a matter of time.
