  1. You really shouldn't paint on sprue. The reason being when you go to glue and putty, your going to have to sand as well. Unless you want MASSIVE seams, which bandai valk kits are always good for (a lot of fit issues IMO).The bandai 1/100's are fun little kits, but I'd recommend a 1/72 Hasegawa. Much better scale, much better kit.
  2. I have that kit! Gundam kits are great, don't get me wrong, however after building 5 PG's, 40+ MG's, and countless HG 1/100's, it gets a bit repetitive when it's all basically the same robot. And that's not including the EVA Kits, Patlabor's, and so on. BTW, if you haven't yet, you really should check out the Patlabor MG's. Great kits. They have real rubber coverings, good size pilot figures, and neat features. Decent prices too. I strongly recommend Ingram 2 and the Flight Griffon.
  3. I've considered turning my Classics Jetfire into a Focker type, but I only have one and I won't pay like 30 bucks for another one. If I could find another for one loose for like 10-15 I might do it.
  4. Thanks for that LOVELY visual. You know, this weekend is my 10 year anniversary, and I was guaranteed to get some, but now I might pass...
  5. # 127680! For the love of god people, start making some dummy yahoo accounts to vote and stop this man! German schize flicks have less crap in them than his films! I've seen more plot in pornos, and I've seen A LOT of porno
  6. Sweet. I have two of these kits and haven't built them yet, as I've been a little intimidated by them. I was wondering if you could tell me something though, as you build it. My plans are to make the VF-0S reactive, but I was also going to take a head from the OA battroid and put it on there to make a reactive OA. Will it fit OK?
  7. Dude I agree, wmcheng rocks. I'd kill for a kit by him, and I usually build my own stuff.
  8. Yeah I got one for you. The SV-51 looks great with modelmasters "transgressor gray", mixed with a hint of black.
  9. My only real critique other than the colors needing reversed on the chest is the black stripe w/ the hikaru number. I'd either paint over it in white or red, or just remove it. Paint looks nice though.
  10. While I admire the works, I shed a small tear every time a 1/48 1S gets turned into a TF Jetfire. DOWN WITH TALKING ROBOTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Well...I love Boom Boom Satellites, but is it just personal bias or is this song absolutely incredible? http://youtube.com/watch?v=55nV1r5Uo0M
  12. I knew about Ivanov, not the 0S, just to claritfy.
  13. I'll still never forgive yamato for my VF-0S that i've never transformed out of fear. Or my Ivanov (although I was aware of the problems before I bought it, I just couldn't resist the best looking fighter of all time. Hell with Nora's hideous paint scheme). But I should be greatful since i gave yamato's up in favor of hasegawa kits. However, the newbie does have one solid point. At 200US a pop this SHOULD not be happening. Taka's MP line is on average 50 to 100 cheaper, and way better quality wise. Even Toynami's been improving their QC with the 1/100 line. Yamato still seems too hit or miss for a company that supposedly puts so much thought into their engineering. I'm glad Bandai's doing the Frontier line. Yamato had their chance, made some great efforts in the 1/48 line, but so so in 1/60 and 1/72. I welcome Bandai's return and if they step up to the plate and actually make what we all KNOW they are capable of (engineering way beyond Yamato's wildest dreams). At risk of pissing people off especially since that yamato banner is up there now, I hope to god Bandai crush Yamato into oblivion. Serves 'em right. 8 years is MORE than enough time to hire a good QC dept. On another note, while the newbie's post was a little snippy towards G and uncalled for, I feel a little empathy for the guy. I mean, he doesn't know as much as others, and after 200 bucks for a toy he thinks is F'ed up, he's probably pissed. His comments were misdirected and ignorant maybe, but understandable.
  14. I'd like to see Roy as well. Maybe have some sort of Sharon Apple-type construct that bears his likeness training and sparring against pilots. That'd be cool. However, I'd really like to see Isamu, see what happened to him after Plus. I'm a little disappointed he hasn't popped up. I figured he'd be a good candidate as Skull Leader, being a bit older, but still cocky. A perfect Roy type character.
  15. Holy crap Kylewell!!!!!!!!!!!! That is so incredibly @#&%$^!!!!!!!!! badass! Seriously, that is the best build I've seen in a while (not to dog anyone else). You gotta share some tips, especially your painting/detailing.
  16. I got rid of most of my toys...I only kept my favorites: 1/48 Super Stealth (my favorite) 1/48 Roy w/Strike armor 1/48 Low viz 1 (only kept it to cover one of each type) 1/72 YF-19 1/72 VF-19 1/72 VF-11 X4 (one FP) 1/72 YF-21 w/FP 1/60 VF-0S (never transformed it, I'm terrified to) 1/60 YF-19 w/booster 1/60 Ivanov (just got it a week ago, the last Yamato I'll buy ever. Ugly as hell battroid but fighter mode is incredible and not half as ugly as Nora's). Now models are a whole different story. I have WAY to many, enough to where I've got about 1 year of solid building in front of me. Besides, although they may not be variable, looks wise Hasegawa's are the be all end all of valkyries, in fighter and Battroid mode on top of 1/72 being my favorite scale. Plus, I hated buying toys only to have them sit there. At least with models, you DO something with them. But that's just my opinion. point is, if you're gut says no, then don't buy it. you really should check out the Hasegawa kits though, at 25-35 a pop you can't go wrong.
  17. well it sucks, but i look forward to seeing his joker.
  18. his name is cletus, i believe. get it? Cleat-us? ...seriously though, no BS. I'm like 98% sure that's what they named him.
  19. i won't buy one of these until I see vehicles, or my favorite Joes: Rip-Cord and Hit and Run!!!!!!!! On another note, I'm shocked they haven't made Tunnel Rat yet.
  20. Thank you. I like Yamato, but I like Bandai as well. I mean, look at the advances from Mac7 to now. I mean for Christ's sake, this is the company that makes the Perfect Grade kit, which outside the EVA PG, is a million times a slicker feat of engineering than ANYTHING Yamato has ever put out. Hell even Master Grade. And let's not forget Bandai's QC is far superior. everyone bashes chunkies, but those still stand today as great toys. Maybe instead of bashing Bandai, you should consider supporting them on this, because that will show them that Macross is indeed worth the same effort as Gundam and the others.
  21. I love it, even though I hate the O. good job.
