Thanks for all your advice guys. It's not the dolls that I am worried about. No problem really on getting him those. Just the Costume stuff. He is really dead set on it. I will give it a try and let him have his fun. Godzilla - ("Your son is pretty smart with that comment.") - Yeah he is too smart for his own good. Actually he is a little smart butt. Catches me on stuff all the time. Speaks both English and Japanese. Can hold a semi-older conversation (When he wants too). It's a lttle freaky sometimes. My son will be 4 on the 19th..... No tuxedo Mask yet...but i guess that would be an improvement. I am going to go buy the Masked Rider 555 Dvd today. Good old positve male violence push in the right direction.....

We play together all the time....build models together, baseball, Power Rangers the works. As for letting him go to school dressed that way....it would be the end. He gets teased enough fro not looking "Japanese". I have just realized it's all my fault (sobs). he just came into my office and asked again. Of course I said "No". Then he replied..."But you have the pink, green and Blue haired lady all over your osfice." (Mylene Jenius, Millia, and Minmay). The wife at this point has burst into laughter so hard that tears are rolling down her face. The only thing she says "He got you." Rob

Okay it's Staurday morning here in Japan. It started off like every other day, my son woke me up way too early to watch Pokemon. As I was getting my son situated with his breakfast and juice, I turned the TV on and put it on the channel Pokemon usually comes on. Immeadiately my son tells me "No, that's not it, channel 7". Feelinga bit confused I told him "No it's on channel 5". At this point he tells me that he doesn't want to watch Pokemon but the Fighting Girls show. A bit curious at this point I change the channel. Low and Behold there were semi-cute girls running around. More intrest. Fighting girls huh? Then one of them "Changed". I sat back and kinda laughed at the ridiculous transformation sequence and it was SAILOR JUPITER! Then a girl wearing a bright yellow wig shows up...Sailor Moon herself. Okay Mini-Skirts and colored hair...no harm he can watch it. Maybe he thinks it's like Masked Rider or Ultraman. No problem. Then he started to imitate them......the very lame fighting sequence that is over-dramatized...and the transformation. At this point I feel alittle hesitation. My wife says "just let him watch it". Okay......... TV commercial time. Sailor Moon costume accesories and dolls. (At this point my world crumbles) My son in all of his innocence asks me "Daddy I want that! It's my birthday soon and I want the Fighting Girls battle stuff and clothes." Calmly I said "No, you don't want that, it's for girls." "I'll get you the new Masked Rider Battle Belt." I assumed this would satisfy him. Then the next commercial.....DOLLS. "Daddddyyyyy....I want the green one. Please get me the green one." Anyway to make a long story short I am now faced with the problem of a son who wants to dress like a girl, pretend he is Sailor Moon, and is very determined. My wife thinks it's funny, I think it is a tragedy. Any advice? Rob MN

man...with that ratio, what are you doing painting??! at my grad school, its more like 50/50. i never have a problem with rain here but whenever i paint outside, mr. nhk always seems to stop by. i wonder how many other members are in japan. i wouldnt mind meeting up. maybe even something besides wonderfestival. are you coming to the next one rob? min Hey Min, Not totally sure yet...(no money ). Man this movie ROCKED! I remember it was the frist Animation that I bought and it was literally the day I got out of Boot-Camp! I watched like 5 times in a row while getting really intoxicated. And trust me the movie got even better the more I drank. Really brought the characters to life. And then there was all that hidden graphics stuff.....or maybe I had just drank too much No I loved that movie. If anyone can get the DVD of this let us know so we can pick it up! Rob MN

Man this thread is too much. I see this stuff everyday. Although I don't have a pic of it, I had a student come in to class one day wearing a jacket that had (Exact Quote) "F*ck Me Please" all over it, and I mean ALL over it. I told her Mom about it and I never saw her wearing that Jacket again. Rob MN

As most of you know I live here in Japan. Today I went to Toy's R Us and I saw plenty of 1/60's and 1/48's on the Shelf. However I didn't notice any of the Armor sets, but then again I wasn't looking. So yes there are a lot of Macross toys by Yamato sitting on the shelves here. And not just at TRU. If you go into Osaka City they are in all of the shops. Personally the store I work with we decided to stop ordering VF's from Yamato. Nobody wants them. I have said this in other Threads similar to this subject. I have not sold one Macross releated toy to a Japanese person since I have been there. Now that is not saying that there aren't people who buy them here. If you really compare the amount of people here in Japan who are still interested in Macross, to the rest of the world where true Macross products are not allowed to be sold due to HG, Yamato is over producing the amounts of Macross Toys. And especially where Gundam is KING. Yamato produces these toys because they know they will sell them. They do not care about the quality control of the items (Macross Related) they produce, and yes they are milking it for all it's worth before moving on. If they sell a crap toy and then a few months down the road issue the improved version with corrections made. They will double their sales. If they truly could only sell in Japan and they issued a toy that was less than what it should be and people complained and actual sales dropped then they would be very careful with the next issue iof that toy, not a re-issue of the same but a different toy in the same series. Now issueing parts for broken toys. Yamato won't do it anymore. They cut me off completly and it was just after I posted it here. The guy told me: "If your customers need parts for thier broken toys, sell them another one and tell them to take the parts they need off of the new one." .This is beacuse they know they will keep selling large amounts of Macross Toys to the rest of the world through un-authorized sellers on eBay and such. Before when REDS was incharge of the distribution if we had a problem they would send us a replacement toy to make the customer happy, but not anymore. REDS is gone.... Are they going to keep releasing variants. Sure they are. Is Yamato in danger of going out of business? No way. Do I think they are almost finished with Macross...yep. Maybe a few more years and they will move on. Bt that is just my opinion. Yamato doesn't have to rely on the small ilsand of Japan for there Macross Sales.
