1. Oh man! Those are just beautiful! (Looks for a way to order these kits) Rob
2. The VF-1A is limited. Same as the Low Vis. It could only be ordered at the Shizuoka Hobby Show and Yamato is only making the amount that were actually ordered and paid for. Same as the Low Vis. I would imagine that the major stores ordered quite a few of them. Me perosnally I only ordered 20. And I am selling them at cost. Rob
3. Great job. That is a really interesting design...kinda reminds me of Yukikaze alittle. Rob
4. I voted for Minmay this time. An oldy but goodie. Rob
5. I dunno I always could tell she was a robot from the pics and an mpg I saw of her confirmed it, besides she may be modelled after a cute woman but come on I doubt she has the plumbing for what you want. 319511 a drill and 40 weight oil will solve that problem 319559 EWWWWWWWWWW
6. basically in order to get a piece licensed for sale at an event you need to do the following. First - Make the Kit. Second - Fill out an application approx. 6 months before the event is supposed to take place. Basically at this point you provide all the information about the kit. What anime it is from and where it appears in the anime. How much you are going to charge. Scale and medium and the instructions you are going to use. Third - Wait ...wait....wait.... Then they contact you and ask to provide pictures of the completed model as well as the parts. The pictures must show the owning compaines logo and copyright dates. Very important! They then look over the line art and ask you to make any changes if necessary. After the changes are made then you re-submitt pictures. Fourth - Wait.....wait...wait... Last they MAY ask you to send in a sample for hands on review. This varies depending on which event you are trying to get a license for. They can wait up until a few days before the event to approve an item. It can be very dangerous for the person selling the kit because of the time constraints. That is usually why Event kits are in such low numbers. Before there was actually a cap on how many Macross kits you could release for a single event. That has now been lifted. However they are being VERY picky about what gets released and what does not. Unless you have a history of releasing kits and are well know...it is really difficult to get a new kit released. But on the bright side. Once you get a kit approved for one event. You do not have to jump through as many hoops to re-release kits at later events. Basically all you have to do is submitt the entry form and it will be approved. I am sure I am forgetting something...but that is it in a nutshell. As far as taking a sticker off of another kit and putting it on a recast. That is a BIG no-no. If they get caught they could face some serious fines. But they are in HK so actually nothing would happen. Now if they tried to sell it on Yahoo Japan then there would be trouble. If this is the case with these kits...the person is just being dishonest. Not necessarily the person who listed the auction..but the friend. It should be very easy for them to tell who made the kit originally. Also it is just matter of putting the sticker on and saying it was from JAF-CON, which by the way no longer exists anymore. Wonder festival put Jaf-Con out of business basically. Oh and another thing. Most Resin Kit makers that I know here in Japan are VERY picky about thier work. Meaning a large kit like this would never be put just in a bag. Especially older kits. Just wouldn't happen. They take pride in thier work and they want it to be safe. Unless they were like me...and wanted to save money. Rob
7. Most likely if they are casts from the models... then they just removed the BW sticker from a model kit and placed them on the bags. Rob
8. Sweet Sticker! Looks great on your truck! Rob
9. Man! At least he could have taped off the lines so the paint edges where at least straight. Is it me or did he actually brush paint that?
10. That may work. But instead of glue I would use double sided tape. That way it won't affect the paper box. If you use liquid glue it could contort the box or discolor it. Rob
11. Actually plush Valks may be on the horizon....in all variations.... My Japanese friend's (my business partner) mother is a seamstress and she made a bunch of Gundam plushes before. So there is a chance. Man I really want one of the Guaba's. It kinda grows on you..and it is super cute! Rob
12. Very nice custom! Very nice indeed. Are you planning to make more? Or could you at least tell us how you made him. ROb
13. Awesome read. Especially in order. I think it would be kinda cool to add a final entry from ghost mode. Something with a twist... Rob
14. I second that motion!
15. Man those do look sweet! The boxes are awesome. It would be a fine addition to someone's collection. Damn I want them. Rob
16. Cool Picture. I wonder where it is really from?
17. So basically what you are saying is that in order for a person to draw mecha / anime correctly / accurately / or with relative talent they must be Japanese? That is just about the dumbest thing I have ever heard. All of the artists who contribute to the Valk-Girl Thread are very talented. Oh and BTW there are plenty on non-japanese manga artists here in Japan contributing to the manga books / comics and animation. Rob
18. Hey how come Guaba didn't make the poll? For all we know "IT" is a girl..... I mean look at it, it is soft, furry, cute.....can produce moisture...and is really cute. Okay I will go away now and hide....
19. WHIZZZZYYYYYYY!!!!! Nothing more needs to be said... Rob
20. Through me if you want to. What colors are you looking for? PM me. Rob
21. WOW! That looks absolutely fabulous! Great Work! Rob
22. That actually looks kinda cool. We are now taking baby steps to our own extinction.....teaching the robots to fight. Like it has been said many times in this thread....."It's just a matter of time before they realize they actually don't need us...." Rob
23. Awesome as always guys! Hey I have been meaning to ask... what programs do you use for coloring your drawings? And are there any good tutorials on how to do it? Right now I have a slew of programs, and no clue on how to use them. Recently I just got Corel Draw Graphics Suite. But I also have Adobe Illustrator 10.0, Photoshop.... Which is the best to use? And the TUTORIALS.... Rob
