Image of the Punisher
Commander McBride replied to terry the lone wolf's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Saw it yesterday, and, surprisingly enough, it was pretty good. Of course, I'm bound to like any movie with so much gun action. -

Nu Rei has the MKII Vulcan things at the head, Dual Gundam's shield and some generic beam saber. The question is are those 1/144 GUndam accesories? If they are, the Rei is slightly bigger than I thought it would be. Looks to me like MSiA parts, which are closer to 1/170.

Hey, as a gun, about what scale is it? It'd be pretty cool if a 1/6 figure could use him as a pistol.
-
Yeah, I've seen these too. I filed them along with the Mega Bloks Ailen Conspiracy series.

I spend a lot my money on toys. That is, if you call transmissions, suspensions, strut bars, shift knobs, exhausts, intakes, engine swaps..........etc, toys.... But, as for real toys, I hardly ever buy anything expesnive. I did get my one 1/48 Low Viz, but that was my only real exception. Just about anything else I have is less than 50 bucks. My 3 1/60s were 40 bucks each, YF-21FP was 50, fix figures were all under 40, and so on. Nothing else was even close to that much. Now, there are things I will spend that much on that are kinda toys. For example, gundam models, and Airsoft. One thing to remember about the high prices of a lot of what we get, though, is that we pay a huge premium for importation. For example, a 2500 yen MG sells for 40 bucks here. Or, you can get a Tokyo Marui MP5 RAS for Y19,800 in japan, but I paid $320 for mine.

Wristwatch that transformed into Robots...

Did anyone see the "Battle Station Mode"? The author seems to think it's inspired by skyscrapers.....but I thihk we all will recognize the real influence.... Same goes for the Spaceship mode.... -
Sorry, I meant to point out that the large-shouldered designs did not fit into the back heavy category. Again, i'm only making the point that several of Katoki's most prominent designs are back heavy, and that that could be part of why recent designs also have a back heavy characteristic. However, the back heavy mecha have existed for some time before Katoki, as well. Look at the Perfect Gundam, for example. It certainly is a back heavy design, as evidenced by the new MG's balance.
-
Yeah, that build was done by Max, along with a rather sizeable team of assistants. I've got the issue around here somewhere....
-
Still, they still have prominent back-mounted features. That's all I'm trying to say.

Ressurecting this thread to ask the Choro experts on here a question: Is there an S14 Silvia Choro Q in existance? Preferably the Zenki (early model)? I'm looking for a Choro of my real car. BTW, the Zenki has rounded headlights, while the kouki (later model) has more angular looking ones.

Well, let's think about that. Master Gundam, Ex-S Gundam, S-Booster Gundam, Wing Gundam Zero Custom, Wing Gundam ver. Ka... versus Nobel Gundam, Temjin, GP03S, GM Type C, Zaku II F2, Tallgeese, Deathscythe ver. Ka, Sandrock ver. Ka, Devil Gundam, Taurus, Virgo, Mercurius, V Gundam, V2 Gundam... the list goes on. Most of Katoki's designs aren't back heavy. It's the back heavy ones that people happen to find most notable--which says something in and of itself. Hang on a minute: Nobel - Has large hair in the back GP03S - Has boosters / wings on the back GM Type C and Zaku F2 - Don't have a back heavy designs, because they are simply revisions of other designer's works Tallgeese - Large back boosters Deathscythe - large back-moun ted wings / active cloak Sandrock - carries a pair of large swords on its back Taurus, Virgo, etc - all have very large shoulders V - true, lacks a back heavy design V2 - wings
-
Really? So I suppose Katoki designed the back heavy mecha in Gundam SEED? Hmm... That's a new one on me. No, but I think his influence has found its way throughout mecha design all across the spectrum.
-
I'd say that's less of a new thing than a Katoki thing. Think about the other designs he's done, for example, the stuff from sentinel, or Master Gundam from G, or any number of others. They often have big backpacks or wings.

Check out http://www.mountainracer.com/ . It's done as a joke, but it's still hilarious. "That is worldwide there of insanity. Everything of the danger perhaps of relating to driving fast is known, but I make those remember once more !!"

I'd never actually seen screenshots of the holiday special. Is it just me, or does Boba Fett look like a bootleg?

That's brilliant! It's, of course, only really funny if you've ever accidentally gotten the *real* Michigan Assn of Helthcare Quality site while trying to get to MAHQ. Here's the real one, btw: http://mahq.com/ -

What makes you think Maddox lives in his parents' basement? I think he has a house of his own. As for god of the world, he is only like that because people made him like it. He didn't start out popular. People just make him out lik ehe's a gos. He's stayed pretty much the same all this time. -

DotD KICKED ASS!!! I totally agree with Maddox. But how could he leave out the sniping scene? And, as for the garage, another issue. How did they get out of there? Surely the fireball didn't kill all the zombies? -
That song kicks ass. I was debating between it and Space Boy. I listen to Gamble Rumble in my S14 all the time, when i'm on the Touge.
-
I'm thinking it may be "Space Boy", from Initial D. The first song in the series, and possibly the best.

List your most disappointing toys
Commander McBride replied to Guppy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
That's interesting, I rather like my -21FP. The color really dosen't bother me, and it looks good enough in any mode. Now for dissappointments: MSiA GP01 (Second Version / JDM Version) The hands suck. I had to modify them to even fit the weapons in them! Despite a new-style joint system, poseability isn't very good. The legs are good, but the arms aren't. Bad QC. Mine had the most crooked V-fin I've ever seen. Bad weapon design. It can't hold some of his weapons properly at all, due to its arms being too short. Fix G-3 Armor. The thing broke the day I got it.
