Official - Weapons Banter Thread
Commander McBride replied to Mechamaniac's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Seeing as how my airsoft threadya while back got Duke Togo'ed, I figure I'll just post here, as we've had plenty of Airsoft in this thread... Anyway, I picked up a new GBB today. A TM Chrome M9 (the one that's a normal M9, but chrome, and with the elite-style grips). I'm not a big fan of chrome guns, but, hell I needed a sidearm, and a TM M9 is just what I wanted. Now, the reason I bought it: Very lightly used, for 70 bucks! For a gun AEX sells for 155 new! Pretty good deal, if ya ask me. The guy just got relocated to NY (he's in USMC), and can't take his guns with him. He, by the way, sold his MP5 RAS for 100 bucks, also in nearly-new condition! -
Fat Tron Guy on Jimmy Kimmel show

Lol, last night, in Family Guy, Peter had a "flashback" to being in Tron. All I could think of was this guy! -
Who's playing FFXI?
Commander McBride replied to Commander McBride's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I've been having a bit of trouble levelling myself. I just seem to get all the bad parties who get me killed. It doesn't help that I'm totally devoted to protecting the rest of the party, and therefore usually take the majority of the hits. Well, that's why I'm becoming a Paladin, I guess.... -
I know there have been a few FFXI threads, but they were so long ago and also were about specific events... So, who on MW is playing this game? I know at least a few of us are. I've been playing for about a month Name- Rathod Server- Caitsith Race- Hume Nation- Bastok Level- 19WAR / 8MON

Oddly enough, the thing that was most noticable to me was that they ripped off the SG-1 theme for the trailer! -

I like compilation movies because 3 DVDs are a heckuva lot cheaper than a whole series worth of DVDs. So i'm happy about this release. -
Supersylph Yukikaze for FS2002
Commander McBride replied to Valkyrie Nut's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Any aircraft made in the older version of Flight Shop won't work. Any made in GMAX or the newer FS will work. Unfortunately, FS was used to make most aircraft until not long before FS2004's release. However, there supposedly is a way to make older aircraft work. -

I'm half relieved and half dissappointed that I missed the guy. I kinda would have like to see what he had to say for himself. AN also, how stupid his voice was. -

Yup. Freaking boiling here. I'd be happy if it rained straight for a month or two...... F*%& global warming..... I really hope I end up going to the UK..... You really dont think it gets Hot in the UK ?? was in Belgium for Three Summers.. (Hi Dude we met at F&S a Year ago Im SolScud's Big Brother) Its Mad Hot in europe god Bless AC Maybe true, but of about a month total I've spent in the UK, I can remember one day where it didn't rain. Maybe I'm just lucky. Additionally, the concept of "hot" in the UK can often be quite different. I remember a newspaper headline complaing about a 70 degree heatwave. That's quite chilly compared to the 100* days we've been having. -
Where was this? Yaohan center? That would be Mitsuwa center (in LT?) now, but I know of no place that carries this kind of stuff. Is this a different Yaohan center somewhere else in LA? Yes. This Yaohan Centre is located here in Vanouver, BC Canada. They have another branch in Honolulu, HI though. Btw, I'm gonna stab BoBe-Patt too! BoBe-Patt, why did you have to rub it in?!?! Rob, where's my 2nd Rei figure?!?! I know there are Yaohans all over the place. I was asking if the one he found the figure at was the one in LA's Little Tokyo or one somewhere else in the same city. (Torrance, Marina Del Rey, etc.)

I want a figure of Edgar!!! Seriously, though, I would like to see a Shin. And the Bridge Bunnies and PinPoint Barrier girls would be really nice.

Supersylph Yukikaze for FS2002
Commander McBride replied to Valkyrie Nut's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I have it, but the moving features don't work in FS2004, rendering it mostly useless. -
Children's entertainment... Yesterday and Today

I'm even closer to the generation you guys are talking about. I was just a bit too late for GI-Joe, Transformers, and the like. My generation, I guess, was the Ninja Turtles, and very little else that was violent in any way. I remember very early episodes of Barney as a little kid. Oddly enough, I thought it was crap even back then. You can't blame TV for the wussification of kids, though. Not only was I exposed to leigons of the crap, my parents tried to push me into being a "sensitive" wussy. So it's odd that, while my peers were being "sensitive" and whatever, I was sneaking down to Chinatown to spend my allowance on knives! And, unlike most people my age, as soon as I turn 18, I'm heading over to the gun store and putting down the 300 for an SKS. But, on the other hand, I'm a major exception compared to my peers. I guess the system worked on most of them. They preform admiraly at their job of conforming to society and doing whatever their parents, teachers, and classmates say they should. The real question is whether this phenomenon is a result of TV. I'd say it isn't. I'd actually say the wussification of TV is a result of the wussification of society in general. You older members should really consider yourselves lucky. You grew up in a different era, where men, to some extent, were still allowed to be men, instead of the girls with pricks we're being pushed into being now. Look at how villified guns are today. 20 years ago, you could teach your kid to shoot. Now, guns are an evil tantamount to teaching your kids to operate the gas chambers at Auschwitz. Hence, why my SKS will probably be the first gun I ever shoot in my life. By the way....has anyone here ever actually seen the Teletubbies? Some of the most disturbing crap I've ever seen. It's no wonder kids are doing drugs at such a young age, they're being bombarded with a simulated acid trip from the time they're babies. -
I really like Far Cry, but some parts are too hard. I eventually resorted to cheating to get past the level where you have to get across the lava floes while dodging a million Fatboys. One of my favorite tactics is to swim in the water, pop up to kill guys, and sink back in, so they lose you. Very SEAL-esque. One thing that would kick ass, though, would be co-op play. Imagine being a whole squad of guys attaking a merc base.

Muffler-wise, I'd reccommend the RS*R Ex-Mag. You get the performance advantages of an exhaust system, but with an exhaust that is quiet and looks almost stock.

You answered "yes" to 106 of 200 questions, making you 47.0% otaku pure (53.0% otaku corrupt). Only A7 beat me!

I've seen one episode of Azumanga. I wouldn't mind seeing more at all. In fact, if I weren't broke, I'd go out and buy the DVDs. (BTW, why I'm broke: PG Gundam MkII)

Gundam SEED 1st opening
Commander McBride replied to Druna Skass's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
You know, if the providence went on a diet, it's look pretty cool! Although, it might just end up being a Gundam MkII.... -
My S14 is being a problem for me. I keep overheating my brakes (I think they're catching on fire!!) and getting major brake fade. I think it's a combo of crappy stock brakes and steel wheels that don't allow any airflow over the brakes. Time for brakes and wheels!

Bwahaha! I could take that same corner at 120!!! But my car doesn't count. A racing suspension will do some incredible things...

Nice! That would make one helluva toy!

Both Classic Army and Tokyo Marui reps were spotted at the recent SHOT show ( I think that's where it was) taking all the pictures of the XM-8 you could possibly want. Classic Army released a photo of a PC screen showing their preliminary CAD image of their XM-8 replica a few weeks ago. I'm not sure whether TM has officially announced an intent to make an XM-8, but it's generally accepted that it'll be the next Marui AEG. (After the M-14)
